Are Terraria’s Worst Reviews Actually True? #terraria
A week ago, I went over some negative reviews for Terraria, and you guys seem to enjoy it. So, let’s check out a few more and see if Terraria’s negative reviews are valid or not. Duke Fishron’s third phase should be nerfed because he disappears too and is too fast and does too much damage, so nerf his third phase, pretty please. I kind of get why a new player would be a little bit off-put by this, but that’s only if you play in expert mode, which new players shouldn’t be playing. It’s not really an unfair stage of the fight either, since you can get used to this attack pattern. Need more Angler Quest achievements? Fix your game unplayable. True. How about a tutorial where I don’t get surrounded by a thousand enemies at once? Terraria could definitely use a better tutorial than what it has now, or a tutorial in general. The guide is pretty outdated, and most of his advice isn’t clear enough for a new player to really know what to do. But obviously if you get past that you will find out that Terraria has a lot to offer.
Are Terraria’s worst reviews actually true? Let’s check them out.

The fact that I was so cocky back then, i played master mode and now I'm use to it
Terraria has tutorial on mobile version, but the true tutorial were the wiki pages we read along the way.
I forgor there is non expert mode.
I mean, there is a tutorial
I feel like just fcking around being really confused until you find something cool and somehow progress is a core experience of terraria
I think 3rd phase, and fishron in general, became so easy after a few fights. In 3rd phase you just dash at the same direction as he dashes. I recommend elf melter + dart gun with ichor
I dont recommend skipping him
I once got to beat the eoc in the tutorial, wonder how far you could get before they changed it
Say skill issues but I still struggle with duke fishron phase 3 (I have 500h on the game)
“Needs more fishing quests”
“1000+ hours of playtime”
Yea, checks out
New players should be playing expert mode what that’s the default difficulty
There is a tutorial for the game, but I’m not quite sure if it’s for all devices or just mobile
I keep forgetting pc doesn't have the tutorial. I originally played on mobile and on the ps3 so I always find it nostalgic when it rains for that specific reason.
just bring the old mobile tutorial back then
I GOT THE 3K LIKE LETS GOOOOO
I have over 2500 hours in this game. Every new person I introduce the game to has said that, had I not been there, they never would have figured out what to do.
People try to compare this to Minecraft, but that isn’t accurate. Minecraft has WORLD achievements. Beating the boss type enemies like the warden, ender dragon, and the wither are all considered end game level achievements.
For terraria, where the progression is largely tied to fighting enemies and bosses, you can accidentally lessen your experience if you fight skeletron before you even know to get a crystal heart and randomly take on the eye of Cthulhu. Or if you make it to the wall of flesh and you haven’t even explored the jungle yet.
The guide should give you some sort of lore, or there should be cool story and world altering experiences where the guide gives you advice on play-through progression, instead of having to look it up because the guide can be pretty vague.
One thing I noticed with new players interacting with the guide is that they don’t press the “help” button again to cycle through the dialogue. If he doesn’t say anything useful the first time, they just leave.
If you need a tutorial to not die repeatedly in the first 0,7 hours of terraria you may be the reason shampoo has instructions
New players SHOULD play expert cus anything other than expert and master is missing out on like half of the games cool ass weapons
duke fishron is NOT a hard boss 😭
250 fishing quests is too easy. we need a “Cosmic Helper Minion” achievement, 1000 quests (this is satire)
BRING BACK THE TUTORIAL WORLD.
Wait I remember playing the terraria tutorial on my Xbox did they remove it for PC?
Doesn’t the mobile version of terraria had an tutorial?
“No players shouldn’t be playing expert mode” my friend making me play calamity infernim first play through
Night 1 Turing into a graveyard so bad that new players wont even see the sun when night is over is legitimately bad
Duke fishron 3rd phase has a set pattern also it is not nearly as fast as anything in a cave shump
Terraria has something similar to a "tutorial" – Journey mod. It's still worse than a quick summary of "how do I do things in this game," but it's better than the old version. Previously, you had two options for enjoying the game: either you didn't give up and were willing to learn the game on your own, which can be challenging in Terraria. Or you were introduced to the game by a friend who already knew the basics. And everyone around me started playing through the second option, and those who hadn't played before fell in love with the game because of us.
And I even like this vicious cycle, maybe we don't need a tutorial at all, maybe we need new friends.
older versions of terraria had a tutorial (mobile and console, true players would know that fact)
Console has a dedicated tutorial
I’m angry that boomerangs are not rearranged damage
But if you throw knifes it’s damage range damage
the first person got skill issue, I killed duke in legendary mode in a first try, also kill empress in day, also first try
I hate the way you say terraria.
Why would you call it terreriar
Honestly terraria is an amazing and rich game but the begining and i mean begining not the early game is so bad the guide only tells you what you can craft with items not where to get them so if you check for example hermes boots you wont know to search the jungle for the wind thing or the common chests for the agley
idk why but the first time i played i started in master mode… i mean i beat it but it took some time without guides(wich i didn't use like an ideot)
Let’s be real here, new players should NOT play classic mode. They should be playing expert mode.
It’s an easier and more streamlined version of classic
That Duke fishron review is the pinnacle of skill issue 🥀
