Is Minecraft Actually Better on Bedrock?

Okay, so Vibrant Visuals just came out and I was looking through the marketplace pass and it turns out there’s other things on Minecraft Bedrock that we don’t have on Java. That’s right. Vibrant Visuals is not on Java. But like look it look at how pretty right now. This is great. What? What? This is a pack called Better on Bedrock. And I genuinely just started this world. So I have zero idea what I’m doing right now. I just figured I’d uh open up a world, play with some vibrant visuals, and uh see what I can do. Okay, I’ve got a guide book, a pack config, a rolledup quest scroll, and a goal tracker. What does that even mean? I guess I should probably be playing in uh survival, huh? There we go. Okay, so we’re in survival mode now, and we’re going to play some Minecraft. We’re going to determine once and for all if better on bedrock makes bedrock better, because it’s better on the bed. Bedrock is be better on better rock. Better rock. Better rock and roll. What am I saying? I don’t know. I think we just cut that whole segment out actually. I think we just removed that whole Okay. What is the rolledup quest scroll? Rolled up qu Oh, quest chapter. Main and bot quests. What is main? These quests are a guide to help you with your journey. Getting started. Okay. First wood is unlocked. Rewards is sticks and XP. Start. I did it. Oh, I really like the sounds that are that are tied with the better on bedrock. I’m going to get out of the swamp. I feel like the swamp is very green. It’s very green and very sad. Oh yeah, here we go. This is much more lush and beautiful. Wo, there’s like fog. Is this fog like a Oh, hey raccoon. How’s it going? I don’t know if this fog is a better bedrock thing or a a thing that’s with vibrant visuals, but either way, pretty sick. Okay, I turned off screen animation so I can get through this way faster. Okay, stone age unlocked. Get 14 cobblestone, four torches, and 25 XP. You got it. To do that, we need the basic Minecraft things. This is really cool. WA goal reached benchmarking. I don’t even know that. Oh, wait. Goal tracker. Goal tracker. My goal is magic stones. What even is a star? I’m not. That’s not the goal. I’m just going to see how many of these I can do in like, you know, however long I record for. I don’t know how long I’m going to record for. Uh, probably an hour of play time. You know, how many of these can I get done in an hour of play time? What am I trying to do here? Dear freaking get out of here. Okay, so Oh, wait. Wait. So, I have to open the quest. completed claim. Oh, that’s actually really cool. Okay, so I got some sticks. What is all of this? Shulker leggings, coronite leggings, copper leggings. Wait, oh, there’s copper stuff. Okay, that’s actually kind of cool. I didn’t know that that was a thing. Oh man, the lighting is so pretty. This forest, I just realized too, is completely custom. This is not at all vanilla generation. I really like it. It looks great. Better on Bedrock seems to be a pack that basically entirely overhauls all of Oh, Stone Age. All of Minecraft or at least improves it in a lot of good like substantial ways. I said so many S’s there. It seems really cool. Like a neat mission. And this is my first time ever playing it. I’m kind of excited. Okay. Wait. Oh, I got the stoneage quest done. Okay. Wait. So, quest main. Getting started completed. Claim. I got some torches. Okay. Getting an upgrade. Upgrade your wooden pickaxe to a stone pickaxe. Okay. Stone. Stone. Yes, that is such a satisfying sound. Like I I love that. Okay, irony. We’re We’re getting We’re getting iron next, apparently. I need more sticks. This is absolutely incredible. Oh, vibrant visuals moment. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Look at how beautiful this is. What? What even is that biome over there? There’s music playing, but my music is turned down all the way. Oh, but it’s so pretty. Wow. Well, there’s a village. Oh my gosh. We’re going to go to the village. Sploosh. Oh. And I proceed to jump directly in the water. Nice. I’m curious in the comments. I want to hear what you guys think of Vibrant Visuals. If you think you’ll play with it all the time or if you think you’ll leave it off and just go back to vanilla. Because honestly, like I do like it. I think it’s pretty, but I do think this will be much more tuned towards probably screenshots, you know, rather than like actually playing it. I guess I could see playing it on like a console or something. But as like an everyday thing for me, I don’t know if I would do it, which honestly like it’s partially because I, you know, I don’t play Bedrock Edition all that much. Uh, but I it’s also like I just I love the classic simplicity of Minecraft. Like that’s one of my favorite things about it. So, like having this is like it’s great. And they did a really good job of emulating these sort of simple like pixelated style with the shadows and such, but like I don’t know. I don’t know if I I don’t know if I’d work with it. I don’t know if I’d use this for every video. I don’t know. What do you guys think? In the meantime, I’m just going to look at his waddle. Here’s my waddling. Okay. So, that’s unfortunate. Look at the sun on the page. That’s so cool. Okay. Tool progression is like vanilla except copper comes before iron. Players need copper pickaxe to mine iron ore. Good to know. It can be skipped by finding iron ingots or tools in chests. Right in chests. That’s what I did. Players can buy quests from librarian villagers. Oh, plus using the item unlocks in the acquired quest section. Bounty scrolls work like quests but are found in trader outposts. They let players hunt mobs for rewards. That’s actually so cool. Okay, wait. Bot quests unlocked. Okay, I’ve got nothing there. So, that’s kind of cool. Okay, some armor sets have bonuses. Stardust grants resistance and health. Shulker protects from Enderman and Shulkers. Amethyst applies knockback to mobs. Okay, so stardust is probably the best way to do it. I don’t know how to get stardust. The upgrade stardust you Oh, well, there you go. Stardust upgrade smithing template diamond equipment. So, it’s found in bastions. The template is rarer than netherite, but can be duplicated. Wow, fascinating. Okay, I don’t think I’d be able to do stardust. Get or duplicate a stardust upgrade from a bastion. Use a smithing table. Place the template. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so upgrading things. Magic staffs. Use souls from undead mobs for repairs. What? You can buy them from a lonely wizard. There’s a wizard. Okay, that’s actually crazy. Wastes let you teleport. Bosses drop artifacts. Everything is enchanted in here. Why is everything enchanted in here other than that one skeleton over there? Why are you all enchant? What happened for you to all be enchanted? Did somebody curse a wizard? Did somebody get on the bad side of a wizard? Okay. How? So, they’re enchanted mobs do things a little bit more. They have a little bit more damage. Oh, they had projectile protection. Oh, so you can see in the little tool tip. So, this pig is just It just had more health, I think. Well, it dropped iron. It dropped iron. This cow has twice the health. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Here’s a perfect example. So, here’s a regular cow, right? Warm cow. Very, very pretty. You can see the number of hearts there at the top five. Look at how many hearts this cow has. This cow is beefy, if you know what I mean. It gave me 16 leather. 16 leather is crazy. Okay, well, I’m just going to take advantage of this uh space that I have here and gather a lot of food cuz I think I need it. Come here, skeleton. You’re not enchanted like that other one that I saw. Die. Yeah, that’s right. And one more cow. didn’t drop anything. I’m dying. Okay. As as much as I’m enjoying, you know, the vibrant visuals at nighttime, I’m less enjoying the skeletons. So, I’m I’m going to just go ahead. Honu Ribbit. All right. Okay. Okay. All right, let’s check out the bosses. Okay, so the first boss is right over here. I’ve gone ahead and speced myself out in full Starlight gear, stardust. Uh, and so that gave me some pretty cool effects. I think I’ve got like resistance, absorption, uh a little bit of extra health and stuff. This is pretty great. And this is our first boss. This is what’s called the Enchantageous. And uh he has apparently some villagers locked up and we’re going to try to get them out. Ow. Okay. All right. There he is. Hello, big guy. Oh my gosh. Boom. Boom. Okay. So, we’ve got some spawners that I can break. Take that. Take that. I don’t know how to defeat him. He’s Boom. Okay. Wait. Okay. So, now Oh boy. Okay. Oh my gosh. Okay. So, this Stardust armor is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for me right now. But that’s great. I’m here for that. Ow. Wa. Okay. So, you can’t shoot him or anything when he’s in that mode when he’s enchanted like that. Oh my gosh. What happens if I hit him with the axe? Oh. Ow. Boom. Okay. All right. So, he’s like at half health already. Good. This is cool. This is cool. Okay. Okay. Ow. Ow. Ow. Don’t do that. Freaking ow. Anytime I try to do that, he just like launches me away like crazy. Oh my gosh, look at all these prisoners. Ow. Uh-oh. He’s killing the He’s killing the villagers, but he doesn’t care. He doesn’t care. It’s just collateral damage. Ow. Ow. This is actually problematic. I need to actually like be a little bit careful here. Okay. So, anytime he gets hit with the sword, he gets into this enchanted protection mode where I can’t actually hurt him anymore. So, if I shoot him with the bow, it looks like that’s better. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay, here. So, that the bow is kind of the strat with this guy, it seems. Ow, dude. Yeah. Yeah. Uhhuh. Okay. He just spawned zombies. What in the world? Take that. Okay. He’s so close. He’s so close to dying. Zombie. Zombie. Zombie. Got him. Oh, there’s more. Take that. Did I get him? Did I get him? I can’t. I don’t think I got him yet. Not yet. Not yet. I got him. I did it. I got the advantageous trophy. the avantageous eye and a basic rune. So, that’s cool. These are all the the bosses in case I need to spawn them in. Uh, so don’t worry about that. Cool. Okay, so that’s the first one. That’s kind of creepy that we took his head off and put it on a a piece of rock there, but it’s whatever. It’s fine. Let’s go find the next one. 15 minutes later. Okay, I have found another one, and it is this right over here. There’s a command block on top. This one’s called the Flender. I don’t know exactly what that means, but we’re going to find out. Oh. Oh, my bounty. Oh, yeah, that thing I started earlier. I guess I could claim it if I really wanted to, but I’m not going to. I’m just going to take on the Flender. There he is. Wa. So, the Flender is apparently Oh, gosh. Like one of the masters of the Phantoms or whatever. Oh, hello. This guy is is brutal. Take a shot. Come here, you. Okay, he doesn’t seem too bad thankfully. What does this chest do? Oh, quit something egg. Okay. All right. Come here, you. I’m just going to take him down. He’s shooting fireballs or something. What is going on there? Yes. Yes. Yes. He’s so close. And he dead. Boom. Wow. What did I get? I got ghost necklace fragments, the Flender trophy, Flender eye, and another Flender rune. Nice. Flender. Flender. What is the quitzk? That is a crazy book. What are you? Oh, wow. I don’t know what a quitzkaw is. Quitzkaw. Oh, okay. That sounds like another sniffer thing. I’m just going to let that be. Cool. That’s two bosses. Uh, three down. Three. Two down. Three to go. These are a pain to find, let me tell you. Uh, this is this is a is a whole process. 70 in. All right. Three out of four. Here we go. This is called the ruined arena. And man, is it sure is it it’s ruined. Uh, okay. So, there’s a chest in the middle. Uh oh. Yep. That’s what I thought. This is the villager. And it’s it’s a magical villager. He did the woolalo thing. It’s a magical villager guy. Oh my gosh. Hello, tiny guys. They’re smaller than him. Come here. Come here. He’s got a good amount of health here, too. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Okay, this is actually I’m dealing a lot of damage, but he does deal a lot of damage back. This is the real one. That’s the real one. Come here. Oh my gosh. Look at all the little guys. There’s so many little versions of him. Okay, these guys are so annoying. They’re so annoying. They are one tap though, so that’s kind of nice. Boom. Come here. Boom. Okay. All right. I am taking so much damage. I got to really heal here. Ow, dude. Heal up. Heal up as he actively attacks me. And that means I get the villager statue trophy and a a villager hat. Oh my gosh, look at me. I’m so fancy. And uh I guess you get like I got like a basic. There’s the villager eye. All those. That’s pretty cool. And a villager freaking trophy. Random. Random. Also, what? Oh, there we go. Now, this Oh. Oh my gosh. Lots of emeralds. Some gold. Nice. Cool. Yeah. So, that’s the villager. Uh, that’s three out of five. We got two more. And the last two are absolutely ridiculous. But we need to go to the Nether for that. Can you help me with that, buddy? Can you help me with that? No, you can’t. You’re useless. Bye. One, two, one, two, three, four. One, two, three, four, five, five. And extra obsidian. Here we go. a tall portal into the Nether. And I have to find the next two bosses out here. Okay, we’re here. We’ve made it to the Nether. It looks pretty normal. I’m going to go find what I need to find. Uh-oh. Okay. Uh I just immediately basically found this one. I Here we go. This is the inferior boss arena, which uh includes this guy. Oh gosh. Oh no. Okay, we’re going to try this again, but now I have overpowered stuff. What are you, fire wisp? Okay, the the boss for some reason is no longer in the spot where he’s supposed to be. He’s like down here somewhere. How’d you get down there, brother? Okay, he’s like way down here. Hey, buddy. Whoa. Okay, this is Oh my gosh, a lot of damage. And I just realized I don’t have my full armor set on. I need armor on. There we go. That’s so much fire. That is so much fire. That’s so much fire. Good thing I’ve got fire resistance from the enchanted gapple now. Okay, shielded pyro class. That’s what this is. And it’s going down fast cuz I don’t want to deal with the fire. This is based on, you know, the fiery inferno thing from the Minecraft mob vote is what it looks like. And uh it’s not too difficult to take down. But that’s okay because Oh my gosh, it launches you like crazy. Oh my word. Get out of here, bro. He dodged that. That was crazy. Come here. He’s so health. So so health. He’s so low on health. He’s at 30 HP right now. And dead. Let’s go. I got that one. I got the Nether amulet. I don’t know what the Nether amulet even uses. I don’t know how to power it up, but it’s fine. I feel like the ghast has like a weird I guess it’s got emissives on its face right now. That’s so weird. The gas looks a little odd. I don’t think that’s a vanilla texture, but it’s fine. It’s cool. Oh, there’s another one. Hello. Nice. Now I’ve got Thanos’s hand. It didn’t. Oh, I can’t use it that way. Cool. And the shielded pyro class trophy. Don’t blow up my trophy. Get out of here. And with that, we have one more boss. And this is the one that I’m actually genuinely the most excited about. Uh, we got to find it, though. I got to find a structure again. This is the last structure I got to find. Oh boy. A few minutes later. Whoa. As I was looking for stuff, I found this. Hello. Giant piglin statue. That’s crazy. It’s got a gold freaking mustache. Those are the tusks. Oh, and gold up here. Wa, that’s so cool. I just found it like in the wall. That’s so neat. Okay, I’m still trying to find the structure, though. A little longer than a few minutes later. Oh gosh, I found it. Okay. Okay. And this is the fifth and final structure that I’m trying to find here because this houses the withered samurai boss. Welcome to the Blackstone Castle. Is that’s what this is called. The Blackstone Castle, which is kind of a cool name. I got to get in here, I guess. Wa wa wa. Oh, that’s how you do it. So, red, green. I guess I don’t have the third one yet. You can see a boss bar up at the top there. That is the withered samurai. We’re going to find out if he’s Oh. Oh, power shield. Shoot a projectile and I’ll g health boost. I could I could use this thing. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I can use this. I’m going to put it as my as my secondary. I’m I’m going Thanos mode. Okay. How in the heck do I get up top? Can I like How do I How do I get up there? Aha! This staircase will probably do it. Aha! There he is. Wo! He’s spinning already. Oh my gosh. Hello. Okay. Okay, that’s a lot of blazes. That’s a lot of blazes. That’s probably why there’s There’s blaze spawners everywhere. Okay, I need my fire resistance, please. Chest. Great. Okay. Um Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Now I’m in secondary mode. I don’t know what this mode does. Projectile. Okay. That’s cool. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. The spin move is crazy. Wow. Look at that. Look at the model. That looks really good. As a model maker myself who is known for making things such as this on screen or or as this or like or like maybe this very very good models. I really hope that we I was showing the best models that we could possibly have found. Okay, he’s dead, right? Yeah. Okay, that was Whoa. Whoa. The withered samurai. I don’t need that. Wa. It’s beautiful. And that’s that’s all of those. I am very impressed with this. But I need to go back to the overworld. So, I’m going to do that. We’re going to do that. Boop. Ah, beautiful. the overworld. We’ve returned. This has been better on Bedrock. There is also a lot more to this add-on that I did not cover in this video.
