No Armor Hardcore – Episode 1 – THE START

This is quite possibly my favorite Minecraft series ever. It’s a hardcore SMP where you cannot wear armor, which sure in itself is not that crazy, but what makes this really unique is that there is no chat and we all talk through this mod called proximity chat so that we can only hear each other within like 50 blocks. Meaning, whenever someone dies, they just disappear. And it creates a unique mystery as the series goes on. And there are absolutely no exceptions to a death. If you die instantly from something lame, well, that sucks for you. So, without further ado, let’s get naked. That’s our catchphrase, cuz this series is called Naked and Afraid with the whole no armor thing. Anyways, as I spawned in for the first of eight episodes, I realized that I was in a campsite in the middle of nowhere, but I noticed I was given a book. And as I went to go read it, welcome to my game, Wimba. Whether you are worthy to play is yet to be seen, but the test is simple enough. Get a diamond pick. Find your way home. Try not to go without a bang. Oh. Oh my gosh. This is so exciting. I guess here we are. From what I was told, we are on ultra hardcore Minecraft, which basically means we will not be having any natural health regen, which means we got to be really careful about taking damage. It’s also kind of weird starting out with nobody here. I don’t even know what to think about this. Ooh, and these are oxey daisies. We’re going to want these because an oxide daisy with a mushroom stew actually makes a regeneration suspicious stew. That’s going to be the only way like early game to be able to get health back. Dude, I really hope nobody dies as we’re making it back. I know everybody from the last season is here, but I’m curious who the new members are. I want to be able to meet everybody, you know. Oh, no. No. We got to be so careful of drowns. What? F3 plus B is not working. Iron. Iron. I’m going to get that, bro. Oh my gosh. If literally one drown is all it’s it would take with like a trident. I also can no longer run. Bro, I need food. Okay, I guess at some point we need to start figuring out how we’re going to get our diamonds. We need three diamonds. I I guess we could go into Bro, it’s No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I I I do not want to do that. Okay, we got a shield. That is going to be so helpful. So, I traveled for a little while and as it became night for the first time, that’s when I saw Oh. Oh, we have a zombie. A creeper. There are mobs now. That is not good. I think it’s time to move. We’re just going to try to get closer to spawn tonight. Hold on a second, everybody. Oh, no thank you. No thank you. I don’t want anything to do with that. Oh my gosh. I’m just stuck in the ocean because anytime I go up to land, mobs just spawn. I could totally take down these mobs, but the thing is no natural. No way. No way. That’s so huge. What the heck? Holy cow. We’re going to go to the village right now. I don’t care if they’re mobs, dude. Starting over with no totems, no armor, no natural health regen is so difficult. This is like ultra hardcore premium edition. Okay, everybody. We are in the village. Okay, and now we can start to figure out our plan for getting this diamond pickaxe today. We’re going to get some food, find a cave, clear all the mobs, and mine for the diamond pickaxe. Oh my gosh. No, we’re not dealing with that. No, I just lost two hearts from a skeleton. Uh, okay. Cave is not going to work. How about this? We get food. We make our way back. Then we can see what everybody else is doing and work on getting the diamond pickaxe that way. With this plan in place, I continued the journey home. But this is when the plan once again got interrupted by some structures I found. Hold on. Hold on. There’s a sunken ship and a ruin portal. Okay, we can maybe make a golden apple. All right, let’s see. What have we got? Please, some goodies. Oh my gosh. Wait, dude. This is how we make our diamond pickaxe. We just loot these sunken ships. Is it worth trying to find the buried treasure? The thing is, it could literally have diamonds and we could have our pickaxe just like that. The other thing is though, because we can’t use the uh the trick to find the coordinates. We might just be cooked. All right, we are almost over the buried treasure. Looks like we’re over it. That might be it right there. Is this it? Please be it. Nope. Oh no. Oh, we got to be so careful to not drown. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. A map is 128 blocks by 128 blocks. So, we know this is the edge of a chunk. Let’s see. 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9. I think it might be like down here somewhere. Oh my gosh, I actually found it. There’s no way. Basically, cuz a map always lines up on the edge of a There’s no way. I just found that. That’s so crazy. Okay, we got some gold. We can’t quite do anything with that yet. All right, what have we got? Diamonds. Well, a freick ton of iron. That’s awesome. And with no luck on getting our missing diamonds, I continued the journey home until I found a lava pool. Oh, no mobs near us. Let’s uh let’s make a Nether portal. Well, let’s pray there’s no like piglin or something that just ends my run. I just need mushrooms. That’s the only reason we’re going to the Nether. Which mushroom do we have? I think we have red. Woah. Woah. That lava dropping down from the ceiling. Okay, hold up. We have brown and red mushrooms. Let’s actually go. We’re going to be able to get our hearts back. Here we go. Brown mushroom, red mushroom, oxide daisy, and bowls. Let’s go. Let’s see how much health I get back from this. Oh, shoot. Bro, you only get one heart back. That’s actually so bad. Before we go back and we just prioritize traveling health. Let’s uh let’s quickly go get all these mushrooms cuz we can at least make a few more stews with that. Let’s head home. At this point, I was kind of surprised that with so many people trying to make their way back to spawn, how had I not run into anybody? Oh, dude. This is a really unoptimal place to be for the night. Okay, what do we got into here? Oh, shoot. I might be dead. I might be dead. Oh my gosh. Holy cow. Oh, what was even in there? I didn’t even see what was in there. I’m not bothering, dude. I thought I was dead. I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. The trident. Oh, somebody just died. Dude, they died in like 15 minutes, bro. Who was it? We have no way to know. Oh, man. What if it was Looney? Oh, that would stink if it was Looney because he’s the one putting this whole thing on and he’s just going to have to keep putting it on while not even being in the series. Okay. Oh my gosh, bro. Oh, Looney. Oh my gosh, Looney. Can you hear me? My god, nice mustache, dude. Thank you. I grew some facial hair, bro. I just got hit by a puffer fish and took four hearts. Oh, I’m so scared of the trident, guys. I’m like like sweating, dude. Yes. Do you hear the cannon? I did. Who was it? It wasn’t you. I I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s not me. Do you have soup? Are you Are you like healing and stuff? Dude, I did. I went to the Nether and got a couple and Oh my gosh. It They only give you one heart back. You want a boat, dude? I want to get home. Do you have uh Do you have diamonds yet? I have one diamond and I was actually just looking for a How convenient. The diamonds for our objective just magically appeared. What? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. How did you get How did you get so many diamonds? Dude, I found an aid vein. Are you serious? You want to just go home together? Dude, let’s do it. Let’s do it. This is Oh my gosh. Now Looney and I safely traveled the 10,000 remaining blocks all the way home. The only close call I had was taking a little bit of damage from a zombie. But once we followed our compasses back to base, I see a name tag. I see a name tag. Oh, wait. Somebody’s up there. Who’s there? Who’s there? Yeah, somebody. Who is that? It’s We’re in our base. Yo, who’s crouching like I saw a name tag like a second ago. Yeah. No, somebody’s hiding from us. Who? Who is it? Hi, Ash here. Congrats on making it. I’m socks tock. Socks to sock. Okay. And now that our two objectives are completed, by clicking the load stone, that officially makes us join the red team. Last red team didn’t do too great. None of them made it to the merge. I’m assuming you’re probably wondering what the merge is. Across the gorge is the blue team. And right now, there are 20 people split into two teams. And at episode 4, whoever is still alive on each team is going to merge into one big team. So right now, my main goal is going to be to survive at least till that. Wait. Yo yo yo guys, look across. Look across. Wrecking Brock. Wrecking Brock. That’s who it is. That’s so funny. Do you think maybe we should do some torches around the whole place just so that we don’t have any like mobs sneaking up? I’m going to go ahead and start work on that. All right, that should be good. So, if we’re going to make it to the merge, we’re going to have to tidy up our base, which starts with building a little underground spot where we were going to do a storage, enchanting, potions, all of that. However, just then another teammate arrived. Hello. Hello. Oh, hello. Hello. Yeah. Wait, so blue is in red. Awesome. Welcome to the cool team. That’s absurd. And after that, I kept working on the storage. Okay, that was a ton of work. All right. All right, I’m going to stop now. They have an enchanting table. What? Blue team is going quicker than us. All right, we need to make an enchanting table. We need an enchanting table. Yes, I have the obby. I had the obby, but I did not have the book. Well, plan B was for me to just sneak over there and steal their stuff. We should build a tunnel that goes from our upper mountain underground and then has a ladder that sneaks up into their base. That is a lot of such a good idea. Funny. Let’s do it. Let’s do it. All right. I’m going to start the tunnel here. Little did I know that this tunnel was going to result in a death. And as I was busy mining, when I came back, I saw that Redun had joined our team. I’ll be on my way. So, we’re like right next to each other. Hello. Hi. Okay. Well, they built a heart and I want to go burn it down. So, maybe that tunnel is warranted one. But let’s do it. Let’s do it. Wait, wait, wait. They are sending signals of friendship and you want to go burn them down. I mean, you saying you want to be friends with those guys? They’re different from us. I hate They’re a whole other primary color. Looney, if you would like to join the blue team, you can do that. But but we we are it’s war against this these guys. So, after mining for like 20 minutes to sneak my way underneath their base. It was officially time. Uh you can come if you’d like. I I’m just going to go down this hole. I want to as well. I want content. I don’t want to be alone. I’ve just been alone for the last 2 hours. I think we could go somewhere like I don’t know just on like maybe over here. Yeah, we could I think we should probably dig dig it out a little bit. I’m going to go on a really small You won’t run into them at the water. Oh, hell. They’re back. This was the worst case scenario. The entire team was right at the enchantment table. If anybody noticed and I got caught, this would be a declaration of war and I would be forever outcasted. We’re going. I’m getting out of here. Why I took the books and not the enchantment table, I don’t know. Probably nerves. But this meant I was going to need to go back. But this time, not alone. Now, we switched over to a private group chat so that nobody could hear us and we could still talk to each other. Dude, they’re they’re like we got to mine like four blocks in this direction, but they are right by it. Right. No, let’s just be idle for a moment. We got time, right? Wait, hold on. They’re leaving. Guys, Wreck has definitely found out. Surely they’re going to find it, right? Because we we kind of misplaced a dirt block underneath the enchantment table so they could just break into it. Guys, Wreck is definitely wondering. He knows. He knows. Okay. Block the tunnel. Okay. I’m going to block the tunnel. Okay. Block it from the staircase part up. Got to do with like blocks they won’t suspect. Oh, I I do not think that’s a creaking. I think they’re making fun of us. read. Let’s go see what their book shows us as well. Yep. Should we do it? Was he trying to drop it on our tunnel? Wait, hold on. No, no, hold on, guys. Guys, guys, guys, look. Look, look, look, look. Could that be like a like a gravestone? Oh, absolutely. So, someone on their side died and from our later analysis, it was most likely Evo. What if we trick them out? We do that on our side as well. Oh, you’re right. Let’s do it. It’s all about the psychological warfare. Oh my gosh. What the heck? Who was that? What? Wait, what? Wait. Wait. Oh my god. Oh my god. One. One. He fell on the wall. He fell on the ground right there. Did Red just die? Wait, I just heard him go, “What the He died.” Yeah, exactly. I fall. Oh, that’s so sad. Red was devious. We’re missing Red. We’re missing SB. We’re missing Mog. And three people died. And so just like that, after having completed our two objectives of making a diamond pickaxe and making it back to base, it was officially time to conclude day one.
