Do You Agree With These Terraria Hot Takes? #terraria
I’ve asked you guys for your Terraria hot takes many times now, but I’ve never directly given mine. NPC happiness is a lame system no matter what. I think that pylons should be purchasable from any NPC at any time, just at a higher price. The underground desert is actually really easy to explore in the early game. It has less dangerous traps than regular old caves and far easier enemies to deal with than the underground jungle. The pirate invasion is incredibly underwhelming and honestly, if real logic got rid of it from the game, it would hardly make a difference. The rod of Discord being a 1 in400 drop chance is totally balanced and people need to complain a little bit less. And finally, the best stage of Terraria by far is pre- boss. This is the one point in the game where you’re truly forced to explore the world to make progress.

for me:
1st – neutral: it kinda annoying the fact that it really make so costly when buying stuff but kinda interesting as it pushes you to make each biome its own base
2nd – neutral: its easy to navigate and safe to explore due to less traps but for mobs are so annoying that stepping in underground in early stage is a death trap, the fact that it is snow biome counterpart not jungle so the difference of the difficulty is huge gap
3rd – disagree: pirate invasion has its unique part of the game, its exclusive drops such as the accessories is a big help for progressing and also its pirates
4th – agree: an op escape card must have a low drop rate and also 1:400 is still small compare to other stuffs that are so rare yet so weak or useless (im talking to the gladiator armor set)
5th – agree: it gives the vibe of adventuring of your world to get better, its called action-adventure sandbox game not a action-speedrun sandbox
I use the flare gun in caves
Terraria is literaly perfect to me EXCEPT for corruption spread!
I wholeheartedly agree with the last one.
My favorite part of any survival game is always the first hours, the possibilities are off the charts.
I will admit that I quit playing the game because of NPC happiness
Your hot takes are bad

Terraformer should be post golem
the tomb crawlers in the underground desert creep me out; hardmode is even worse
Hard disagree with underground desert
Underground desert being easy???? I have two words for you, dune splicers
James 4:7 KJV
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
the price for our sins is death, but Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose three days after his crucifixion, and we have to believe in our hearts that Jesus did that for us. God is not an all loving God, (Psalms 5:5), but God is loving, God is just, holy, merciful and amazing. we need to not fall into temptation, even if its difficult, but whenever we are about to fall into temptation, or it feels like we are getting any temptation, we need to run to God, always, and we should pray to God, with faith, we need to trust in God, God is always there to talk to. Jesus is the savior of the whole entire world, and the world has no chance to not be saved, God intended to save the world through Jesus Christ, and we must have trust and faith in God, worship God and Jesus, forgive others, repent of sins, turn away from sins, believe the gospel, and accept God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit into our lives! God really is awesome, and God has a plan, and we have to trust in that plan, even if its difficult, we can always talk to God! have a blessed day, and God is good! 😀
Terraria mobile is better than PC
The best stage of the game to me is Post Plantera. A lot of the especially fun stuff opens up (Buffed dungeon, frost + pumpkin moon, being able to stand up to Duke Fishron, etc)
I agree with almost all of these, especially the NPC happiness thing. I used to build places for the NPCs to live based on who they were but now I just put them in their respective places. So no more floating frozen wizard tower high above the ground on an island suspended by magic crystals. He goes to the Hallow now. No more houses built into massive trees in the forest biome for the Dryad because she goes to the Jungle. I could do a massive jungle tree but not because I want to. It would be because I have to. I miss building by using my imagination. The NPC happiness thing ruined that.
I agree with the underground desert. Take a few grenades to deal with worms and you're set. Block off or build around all the other enemies
i thought rod was 1/2500 or whatever
I've never found traps
All but rod of discord and the pre-boss one. It's not fun to grind for one item for possibly hours if you get unlucky, and I'd say that all stages of the game are similarly fun, all in diffrent ways.
Ngl the pre boss take isn't that bad, starting a new world and getting as crazy of loot as you can before any bosses is a lot of fun
My take on NPC happiness is that there should be no penalty for low happiness, all it should do is lower prices below base if you want to put in the work.
100% agree with NPC happiness. Worst thing that's ever been added to the game in my opinion. Why should a player get punished for building big castles/cities at one spot in the game? That's how I built for almost a decade then one day Red decided "No I don't like that, you're doing it wrong." I don't even find pylons that useful, it's not like it takes more than a minute to get anywhere important on a medium world. It also turned all of the NPCs into anti-social weirdos, even ones like the Party Girl who should absolutely want to be around as many people as possible.
And hard agree on the pre-boss stage too. Those early explorations when you have to fight for every significant mobility upgrade are a ton of fun. I don't enjoy Hardmode nearly as much because it's just one long boss rush.
