Terraria Master Mode, But Every NPC Sells Random items…

In this video, I’ll be playing Terraria in master mode. However, all items sold by NPCs are randomized, meaning that it is even possible to purchase the legendary sword Zenith. To make this challenge even harder, I’ll only be able to use weapons, armor, and accessories that I purchased. Finding or crafting these items will not be allowed. What kind of items will we see? How much will they cost? And can I take down Moon Lord with a mish mash of equipment? Let’s go find out. All right, let’s start collecting as much wood as possible for some NPC houses. The more houses I can build, the better chance to find items I can use. That should be enough. Got around 500. Let’s flatten this area a bit. And then start building some NPC houses. I think five should be good for now. Okay, while I wait for some NPCs to spawn, I’m going to try to find a cave to head underground for some life crystals, and most importantly, items that I can sell for some money. Ooh, this cave looks promising. Umbrella, a step stool, okay, an egglet, and a guide to plant fiber cordage. So yeah, the plan is to basically get my hands on anything and everything I can find to sell for money. Even things like statues and furniture. Oh, nice. Merchant has arrived. Let’s just do a bit more exploring before I head back up. Oh, that is nice. That’s a bunch of gold. And there’s the demolitionist as well. Oh, got a hairm. No, I’m going to die here. Oh, I really want that topaz, though. I’m just scared of the worm. Okay. Nope. No, no. I’ll get that later. Let’s see what the merchant is selling first. Oh my god, that’s a bunch of stuff. Okay. Skiff’s paws. That is a wing. Oh, that would be so nice if I can get it right now. Squire’s great helm. 23 gold. Mandible blade. Damn, all of these items are so expensive. Oh, one gold. Okay, maybe I can get enough if I sell some items here. Yeah, one gold. Let’s just do it. Oh, I need two more silver. Um, yeah, sure, why not? Let’s get rid of that and that. Nice. Got myself the hammer axe. And honestly, this can act as my weapon for now. Let’s see what the demolitionist is selling. Uh, nothing too useful. I mean, there’s the monk pants, which I would love, but it’s just way too expensive. And that is pretty much it. Now, I got to wait until the next day for their shops to reset. Damn, this axe can chop down trees so fast. Before I head back underground, I’m just going to craft myself the gold pickaxe. Ooh, a chest here. What’s it going to be? Oh my god. Okay, flurry boots. Let’s also grab the furniture hair and the statue. Nice. Found my first life crystal. Oo, another chest. Nice. Two gold coins, ice gates, and the ice mirror. Oh my god, another one right over here, too. Ice blade. Suspicious looking eye. Oh, and this ice machine will sell for a lot. Oh, spider’s nest. Is there possibly a webbed chest in here? Doesn’t seem like it. Looks pretty small. Wait, is that a pile of gold or is that silver? Oh, that’s silver. But let’s go grab it anyways. Okay, I now have a total of six gold coins. And I think I’m going to head up soon cuz my inventory is completely full. God damn, there are four life crystals down here. Wait, make that make that five. Oh, thank god I didn’t leave. Okay, and these five life crystals are going to take me to 240 health. Make that 2460 health. Beautiful. Okay, that’s enough exploring. Let’s get out of here. Oh, that was close. Oh, it’s also the next day, which means shop reset. No, the horseman’s blade. 58 gold. Oh. Oh, wait, wait. Gastly glaive. I can buy this one. Starville. Damn, that’s expensive. Going to skip on the ice boomerang hero shield. Okay, looks like I can only purchase the ghastly glaive. So, let’s do that. There we go. I have an actual weapon now. Let’s sell everything else, even the accessories on me. Okay, I have 12 gold now. Let’s check out the demolitionist and absolutely nothing useful. Because the merchant isn’t selling the piggy bank anymore, I’m going to have to put my gold away inside a chest so I don’t lose them when I die. Let’s store everything else away. I’m going to go ahead and build a few more NPC houses and then head into the jungle to max out my health. Ooh, the blood moon is rising. Wait, it’s the perfect opportunity to get the money trout. I’ll go do that after I open up this chest. Nice boomstick and a gold coin. And also, let’s just grab this life crystal. Okay, never mind. And also that one. Oh my god. And there’s another chest. That’s going to be 300 health. And there’s another life crystal. What is going on? Okay, she spikes. Oh my god, another chest. The one time that I do want to head back up onto the surface as soon as possible. I keep on finding stuff. And guess what? Believe it or not, another life crystal. Okay, another boomstick and a gold coin. Like, I really don’t mind this at all, but I just find it a little bit crazy. Okay, and that is 340 health. Let’s head back up before I find anything else. No, the blood moon has ended. That’s unfortunate. Yeah, I took a bit too long in the jungle. Oh, arm stealer has arrived. Oh yeah, it’s also a new day, which means another shop reset. Oh my god, treasure bag of Moon Lord. It costs 47 gold though. Can I sell everything and get enough? Maybe. No, I don’t think I can. And a treasure bag of Empress of Lights. No. Well, that’s a missed opportunity. Let’s take out the rest of my money. Oh, I didn’t even notice these duologist is here as well. Oh, I see some good items already. Cobalt pickaxe. Seven gold. Okay, last prism. Oh my god. 41 gold. No. Okay, let’s just buy the cobalt pickaxe. Now the demolitionist. This would have been nice, but it’s too expensive. And now the merchants. Damn, not much either. Closest thing I can afford that’s useful is this desert tiger staff. But I think I’m going to pass on that. All right, back to the jungle I go. Never mind, the traveling merchant just arrived. And of course, everything is too expensive. Nice. Found anklet of the wind. I also believe the honey dispenser will sell for a couple of gold. Ooh, jackpot. 15. Yes, 15 gold. That’s huge. And another life crystal. Okay, just need one more life crystal until max health. Oh, and there’s my last life crystal. Let’s just get this real quick. There we go. That is max health. I am going to grab a couple more though, so that I can make heart lanterns. All right, I think I’m done here. So, let’s head back up. It’s not quite the next day, so I cannot visit the NPCs that I visited before. However, I can see what Carlo the painter is selling. Ooh, these festive wings would have been nice. But other than that, there’s nothing else. I now have a total of 48 gold coins with a bunch of things to still sell. But I’ll do that when the next day arrives. I think what I’m going to do to speed up the process of getting the shops to reset faster is to just build a bed to speed up time. There we go. Bed made. And now it is the next day. Let’s take out all of my money. Okay, merchant first. Oh, the elf melter would be good cuz I do have the slime statue, but the only problem is that I don’t have any wires to hook it up, so I can’t activate it. Okay, let’s just sell my items first and then I’ll move on to the next NPC. Oh, nice. And the traveling merchant arrived again. Okay, I have 66 gold coins total now. Demolitionist Bets’s Wrath. Okay, I might actually buy this one. I can always just collect as many fallen stars as possible to max out my mana. So, yeah, let’s do it. I have two weapons now from the old one’s army. Okay, next up, Carlo. Shadow beam staff. I’ll pass on that. Leaf blower 13 gold. I think I’ll also pass though. There we go. Zoologologist came in clutch. Jim’s wings. Only 28 gold. Yeah, let’s do it. And then the arms dealer. Okay, absolutely nothing here. And finally, the traveling merchant. Nothing again. Okay, this was a better run this time. Got a better weapon and a pair of wings. Now that I have a ranged weapon and a pair of wings, it’s time to start building the arena to prepare for the Eye of Cthulhu fights. I also just realized I still haven’t gotten a single piece of armor yet from the shops. So hopefully I can get some soon. There we go. Arena has been completed. Now let’s just sleep until nighttime. Okay, night time’s here. Got to collect fallen stars before I fight. Okay, I’ve checked both left and right side of the world and I’ve managed to find 33 fallen stars. So, let’s make the mana crystals. And let’s see how much max mana I have. 140. That should be more than enough to take down this boss. Here we go. This should be pretty quick. Yep. Already second phase dealing 1,000 damage per second. Oh, I’m out of mana. Switch over to my Ghastly Glade. Oh my god, the boss does so much damage and finish it up. Okay, first boss down. While I wait for the next day to come, I’m just going to take on the next boss. So, let’s head over to the corruption to take down the Eater of Worlds. Okay, the Dryad has arrived. Let’s break the last one. Here we go. And I definitely do not need an arena for this. I hope. I hope. Oh my god. I hope. Oh shoot. No. No. No. Kill it. Kill it. Kill it. No. Okay. I overestimated myself. That was pretty bad. Okay, here we go again, but this time I’ll be fighting it over here where there is a lot more space. Here we go. And start firing away. Okay, Betsy’s Wrath is so much better. Let’s just use this. God damn. Okay. And just like that, we’re done. Maybe I should have just used this from the start. I probably would have been able to do it. All right, it’s a new day. Let’s check out the shops. Rod of Harmony. Okay, for sure I’m going to get that. There is the adamantite leggings, and I’ve been needing to get some armor, but the thing is it costs 30 gold, which is a bit too steep for me. It costs almost half the amount of gold coins that I have. Oh, the scourge of the corruptor would have been very nice, but I don’t have that much. Oh, lunar flare. Oh my god, I can do this. I can buy this. 28 gold. And just like that, I have a post Moonlord weapon. Now, this weapon is going to annihilate everything as long as I can keep up my mana. Okay, and that is it for the NPCs. I would call that a dub. Got an insanely strong weapon. and the rod of harmony. Okay, let’s head to the dungeon now to take on Skeletron. Oh, actually before that, I’m just going to build a few more NPC houses. Maybe like five more. There we go. For this boss, I definitely do not need to build an arena. Okay, it is officially night time. Let’s talk to the old man to summon Skeletron. Three, two, one. Okay, let’s try to kill the hands. God, I’m going to run out of mana so quickly. Ow. I guess I’ll just smack it with this and let my mana regen. There we go. Just ahead now. Oh my god, that did 100 damage on me. Oh, okay. Even though I have a post Moonler weapon, I still got to be very careful. Come on. Few more hits. There we go. Skeletron down. Oh, found the mechanic. What are you selling? Oh. Oh, okay. Only three items. Nice. Found a shadow key. And that’s really all I need. So, let’s head back up. And it looks like it’s about to turn into day. So, let’s wait until that happens. And then I’ll be ready to take on the wall of flesh. Oh, a goblin army is approaching. Okay, let me just take care of them real quick. There we go. Goblin army has been defeated. Now, let’s go check out the shops. I would have loved the starter cell staff, but 74 gold, that’s a bit too much. All right, and let’s take out our gold as well. Okay, I have 77 to work with. Advent leggings, too expensive. 81. Zeno staff, 21 gold. I think I need armor more than weapons at this point. So, I’m going to pass on this solar flare breastplate. One platinum. Oh. Oh, here we go. Hollowed headgear. This is for magic and it only costs 13 gold. There we go. My first armor piece. Oh my god. There we go. Another last prism, but this time it’s only 27 gold. I’m going to do it. I know I said I’m prioritizing armor more than weapons, but come on. It’s a postmoonler weapon. I just got to. And then there’s the sailfish boots. I kind of want it. Not kind of, I really want it. Let’s just do it. I’ll make the gold back anyways. Okay, now I can run fast. And then let’s check out the new NPC that has arrived, the Cloier. Okay, there’s nothing. Let’s go mine down to hell to take on the wall of flesh. Okay, finally made it down to hell. Let’s go search for a voodoo doll and open up some shadow chests. Oh, there’s the voodoo demon. Let’s make sure I have some room. Okay, there we go. Got one. Okay, let’s sell all of the items that I found and then it’ll be time to take on the wall. Okay, made it to the end of the world. Let’s drink some potions and then toss in the voodoo doll to summon the wall of flesh. For this boss fight, I will be using the last prism cuz it’ll be able to attack all three parts at the same time initially. Here we go. Three, two, and one. Let’s fire my laser. Yep. Look at that damage. Oh my god. Ow. Heal. Dead. All right, we are now in hard mode. God damn. I swear I saw 12,000 damage per second. Oh, nice. And it is the next day. After selling all of my items, I now officially have my first platinum coin. Okay, by the looks of it, I think the eye of the golem is the only useful thing that he’s selling, which costs 23 gold coins. I think that’s worth it. So, let’s buy it. My last prism now has 29 critical strike chance. Oh my god, the Spectre wings just caught my eye instantly. And I’m pretty sure it’s better than Jim’s wings. So, let’s go buy that as well. Sell that kaleidoscope. Ooh, 19 gold. I could go summoner. The demolitionist is also selling the summoner emblem. I think I’ll buy it just in case. It’s also good because whenever I run out of mana, I can just switch over to the kaleidoscope. Oh my god, vortex breastplate. I just have to buy this. Damn, 36 defense now. I don’t have any ranged weapons that can utilize on this armor, but the defense boost will definitely help. Oh my god, no way. The piggy bank. Now I won’t have to store my money away inside chests. Let’s head back to the corruption now to break some demon alters to spawn in the hard mode ores. We’ve got palladium, mithril, and advantite. Good thing I have the cobalt pickaxe cuz I can just skip over to the mithril instead of having to mine the palladium. Okay, that’s enough Myithil onto the adamantite. And that should be enough adamantite. I’m now going to farm the materials for the mechanical boss summons. Oh, the goblin tinkerer. Hello. But there’s nothing useful. I wonder how much it costs to reforge my weapons. 12 gold. That’s not bad. Ooh, one more. Okay, I have to stick with this one. Same with the last prism. Let’s go. There we go. That’s nice. Okay, that is enough souls of light. Also found a wizard. Ooh, wait. I I need this so bad. I really do. No, I don’t think I’m going to have enough. Ooh, if I sell all of my adamantite. Okay, maybe not all of it. 18. Oh, I can do it. Yes, there we go. I know I don’t have any mana potions to use. But the 8% reduced mana cost and the stars restore mana when collected. Those two alone makes it worth it. Okay, let’s go grab some souls of night now. Oh my god, I got sniped out of the air. Okay, let’s first make the adamantite forge. To be honest, I’m not really sure if I do need this or not, but I just made it anyways. Okay, it’s the next day. Let’s see. Oh, now that I think about it, I still don’t have a hook. So, let’s just buy the diamond one. The Stardust drill would be nice, but what can I sell? Oh, I have leftover adamante ore. Let’s just sell that. All right, and that’s pretty much all of my money gone. Okay, that is it. Let’s go collect the remaining souls of night. I just need five more. Okay, that’s enough souls of nights. Let’s go make the mechanical boss summons. Okay, night time is here. The first mechanical boss that I’ll be taking on is going to be the destroyer. And of course, I will be using the last prism. Here we go. On the left. Oh, wait. What? I thought I switched farther away. Woo. Big damage. Come on. Oh, that was bad. Okay, pick it up. Try to angle myself better so I can hit the majority of the boss. 36k damage per second. Holy crap. Okay, next up, the twins. And then let’s look back to the Luna Flare, I guess. There we go. That second phase. Back away. Back away. Bit too close. No. Okay. I got to make use of my rod of harmony here. Let’s switch back to the last prism. Actually, pick up these hearts. Keep teleporting. Okay, that’s one down. Retazer should be second phase. Yep, there we go. Finish it up. Done. And finally, Skeletron Prime. Oh my god, a single laser hit dealt 100 damage on me. Okay, back away. God, I wish I had an accessory that lets me dash. I’m so used to having or using the shield of Cthulhu. Oh, whoa. Oh, oh my god. Almost teleported right into the boss. Almost done. And boom. Okay, all three mechanical bosses have been defeated. That’s pretty much one platinum coin. So, in total, I have one platinum coin. Okay, let’s go sell these souls and the holo bars. If I didn’t get the stardust drill, then yeah, I would have used them to make the pickaxe axe. Oh, these sold for some pretty good money. Okay, I have two platinum coins now. Okay, fairy boots. The wearer can run super fast. These are better than the sailfish boots, so let’s buy them. A pair of pants would be really nice cuz I still don’t have one. Okay, not snow pants though. Nice. Another NPC. There’s the celestial shell. Let’s buy that. Betsy’s wings. These are definitely better than spectre wings. I can now hover and fly horizontally. And then for the steampunker, let’s see. She’s selling monk’s pants. because I don’t have any pants at all. I will be purchasing this. Okay, 53 defense now. Let’s make our way into the jungle to search for the planter bulb. Oh, the planter bulbs right here. If I can drag it to this granite area over here, then I’ll just use this as the arena. Okay, the arena has been completed. Let’s go break the planter bulb. Here we go. Three, two, and one. Okay, coming from the bottom. Let’s go through here. We’re almost there. Come on. H. Let’s just start attacking right away. Ooh, going pretty good. Ow. Okay, let’s wait for my mana to regen. Go again. Teleport. Ow. Ow. Come on. There we go. Okay, let’s head into the temple now to take on Golem. Oh, right. And I can just break through this cuz I have the Stardust drill. Made it into the boss room. Let’s go block this off so that no monsters come in. Let’s clear out the traps and then let’s begin. Head is almost down. Okay, there we go. Just the body now. Should be pretty quick. Come on. Let my mana regen and done. Yeah, I really need an accessory that can make me dash. Dodging attacks is quite difficult without one. Okay, let’s sell, sell, sell. I’ve got two platinum coins again. Ooh, the enk shield. I will purchase that. Getting knocked back so many times was getting super annoying. Won’t have to worry about that anymore. Oh, yes, yes, yes. The vortex booster. 53 gold. Let’s buy this. Okay. A lunar portal staff for three gold only. Might as well. Ooh, and the cosmic car key. I don’t have a mount yet, so yeah, let’s buy this one, too. With the rest of my money, I’m going to reforge the Lunar Flare. Hopefully I can get something good. Oh no. No. Well, guess I have to settle with deadly for now. It’s time to take on the lunatic cultist. So, back to the dungeon. Okay, here we are. Let’s get this show on the road. Okay, I’m not going to lie. My lunar portal staff is doing more harm than good. It’s kind of distracting me. Ow. Okay. 10,000 more health. Finish it up. Hit the right clone. There we go. Okay, time for the celestial pillar and I’m dead. Vortex pillar has been destroyed. Stardust pillar is down. Two more to go. Before I destroy the two remaining pillars, I’m just going to check the shop one more time. I want to try and get one more accessory before I take on Moon Lord. Okay, this will do. Worm scarf for six gold. Down goes the nebula pillar. One more to go. And there goes the last pillar. Time for Moon Lord. Here we go. This is going to be a tough battle. And I really have to make sure I make use of my Rod of Harmony. There we go. Just like that. Okay, that’s one hand down. Okay, middle eyes done. Okay, just core now. Yeah, the rod of harmony definitely came in clutch. Made it to the ocean. I should probably teleport soon, like now. Come on. Almost done. Teleport.
