NEW MINECRAFT COPPER LANTERNS, BARS, GREEN TORCHES, + MORE ARE HERE! (snapshot 25w32a)

So, lately it’s come to my attention that I’ve seen some rude comments saying, “Why is he excited about everything?” And man, it’s been getting to me. I can’t lie. I’m just a human, too. You know, I just want to make something for you to enjoy and watch for a little bit of time. So, you’re right. I will no longer be excited about Minecraft updates. But with that being said, Minecraft, they just went ahead and done it to us. My 1997 Mustangs is snapshot day, my dudes. We’ve got copper decor. If you want me to be excited again, smash that like button and let me know. What do you think? I’ve oxidized a little bit. And now, let’s take a look at the brand new shelf. A guys, is this good? Is it not good? I can’t tell. So, brand new to the fall drop. In this week’s snapshot, we have a reworking of how the shelf is going to display items. Instead of showing them dead center, they’re now actually sitting on the shelf here. And if you get the lens just right, you could actually see that you could see clean behind the items like they’re properly sitting on the shelf. This is quite interesting looking when you have a longer shelf, these conjoined things going on. And when you have actual 3D blocks, so like check this out. A good one where we can really see it like hardcore here is going to be this pale shelf right here. When I drop the items on the shelf and I’ll like get real up close, see me romantic with them. know, you can see the full block is actually sitting there. And is the block animated? If it is, well, yes. Take a look at that block right there. The warped, the crimson stem, whatever you want to call it. Oh man, it’s like actually properly animated there on the shelf. That’s pretty crazy. Now, functionally, like when it comes to swapping items around on the shelf or whatever, that’s all, excuse me, all of the swapping functionality has not been changed, and the item targeting mechanics have not been changed still, which is throwing me off a little bit because I keep wanting to target the lower part of the shelf. And I mean, yeah, it does work, but it’s a lot easier to just target the middle of the shelf still when you put a shelf on a shelf. Uh, dude, it’s like shelfion here or whatever. H I don’t know. I get what the devs are going for here. Like the shelf is meant to display items. But now it’s like weird and a little bit off-centered feeling, right? Like the top of the shelf feels empty. Maybe this will end up being resolved in a future snapshot. But for now, what do you think? Oh man. So this recipe change is beautiful. Please allow me to make a trap door for Wait a second. Can I actually already do a trap door like that? Oh, I can. Has it always been like that? Well, the copper trap door instead of being six ingots right there. Wait, that’s a spoiler. Instead of being six ingots, it’s four ingots for one single trap door. Oh, yeah. Yeah. This does beg the question, though. What about a gold trap door or gold bars or gold other things that might be in the snapshot? This is a beautiful brand new crafting recipe for the copper trap door. I love it considering how tasty this thing looks. Oh, I can see it. Soon, my world will be all copper trap doors. Oo. Now, sliding up to the snapshot change log picture. That image right there, those are items on a sign. Now, before you get too excited here, tragically, yeah, the first thing that I thought is, wait, can I put an item on a sign now? And uh, no, you you can’t do that. If I had an item and I tried to use it on a sign, it just doesn’t place. Instead, it places against the sign. Instead, in one of the saddest booaloos of all time, what we have here is brand new object text component rendering. So what you can do here is you could put an object that you displayed where text would be displayed. The sprites will be tiny in an 8×8 pixel size space. The atlas here is going to refer to a Minecraft blocks by default. And the sprite, well, they could be any of the item sprites in the game. This is all brand new text rendering. And I just wish there were some kind of way to access this in survival. Like I know, I get it. We have the shelf for displaying items, but the sign would be such a cool way, too. Especially, aesthetically speaking, the hanging sign. Like, look at how cool that looks. It’s kind of just like the invisible item frame. I dream that maybe they’ll expand this update and allow it to be accessed in survival. All right, now here. I want to slide over to my snapshot flat world for this update. I flashed this stuff in the intro, but yes, it’s no lie. Do we have a ton of brand new copper decor items? Oh, baby. So, first things first here, a green torch in a vanilla survival Minecraft. It’s possible. If you want to craft yourself a copper torch, or more so, four copper torches, one copper nugget, a coal, and a stick. Go ahead and craft these green torches. Place them down. And oh my god, dude, it’s so cool looking. When you place it on the side of a block, it looks just like a normal torch. when you place it on the ground. Oh, it’s green. Look at that fire. What’s gonna happen with vibrant visuals, man? Dude, this is seriously so cool. And I didn’t see it coming. Now, flipping things over to the darkest of night times, the copper torch. You might be wondering about light levels here with this block. You place it down. You can see here that it is actually pretty bright looking. Moving over and standing on this one to inspect the light level. It’s not in the screen now, is it? That’s fine. That’s fine. I can go ahead and turn it on. Technically speaking here, this torch is just as bright as a normal torch. When I place this down and stand on the block, I’ve got a light level of 14. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited and I love this new torch and whatever, but I do think this is maybe a little bit of a missed opportunity. This should totally have a different light level than the other ones, right? So, just to show you here, normal torch stand, that’s 14. Swap this out for the green torch. That is 14 as well. Meanwhile, the soul torch here, that’s a light level of 10. Feel like the copper torch should maybe be like I don’t know light level eight or something. Man though, look at these torches all lined up in a line here. Dude, they’re so good looking together. The gang’s all here. One more thing here just to show it off for you before we move on. The torch when placed on the side of a block like hanging, it’s pretty similar to the classic torch except this time a cool sick green. Now, a little bit of time later, maybe I did some grinding out in my world and I’ve got a lot of copper torches. What if I put a copper torch and surrounded it with copper ingots? Oh my god, they did it. The copper lantern. They heard what we were begging for. The copper lantern is here, guys. And dude, it’s so cool looking again with the green there. I’m so excited. One quick flick of the wrist inside of the creative inventory looking up a lantern. And wow, uh, there are so many lanterns in the game now. Copper normal soul. Oh man. So, check this out. As you would probably suspect, here we have every single oxidized state of the copper lantern in the game. Now, you can wax these lanterns in order to keep them how they are. And you can unwax and also unoxidize these lanterns with an axe just like you can with any other copper block in the entire game. Now look, maybe this is an early on version or something, but right now at nighttime, interestingly, these lanterns, they don’t seem to have a different light level dependent on oxidization. Maybe this is an intentional thing so we could just, you know, light up our base and actually build with these things, have them be useful. But I don’t know. What do you think? Right now, the light level of this lantern block is light to level 15. That is going to be the same as a normal lantern. And the meanwhile, a little bit brighter than the soul lantern. Our lanterns all stood up here in a lineup. Dude, they’re all so amazing looking. I love the animation that really pops with the green tones inside the lantern here. Like, it’s way more visible, at least to me, than the classic lantern or even the soul lantern. I love this blinking. I can’t wait to build. I’m so excited. By the way, survival stream tomorrow inside of the survival world. We’ll update the world and get all of this copper beautifulness. 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Come by. We’re having a waddle summer. The lantern. Lantern. You know how it goes. You can hang lanterns or you can place them on the ground. Dude, when you hang the lanterns, they almost look even better here. You get a tiny little chain going on. Wait, is that a spoiler? Yeah, you get a tiny little chain going on. And the lantern will be able to be hung from things as well. My first thinking here with this new lantern is what if we had an acacia fence, like a little setup or something like that, and I hung a lantern from it. Wo, that’s so cool looking. Look, look real quick. A little build hack for you inside of the new update. Here’s how you make a really cool orange city post that’s all coppery looking. You put the copper lanterns with the acacia fence. You do a little thing up top and wow, it’s so cool. Let’s actually go ahead and send this thing out and see what people say at the end. Back over to the crafting table today, man. We’re here all day long. If you haven’t yet, smack that subscribe button. We’re in update season, baby. I’m always hooking up videos for you on the daily. Anyway, back inside of the crafting table here. What if I maybe put an ingots right there and a nugget and a nugget? Oh. Oh. Oh, it actually does something, too. The copper chain. The devs. Dude, who let them coke so hard and add all of the things we were exactly asking for in this update. So, looking up chain inside of the inventory here. Oh, I always forget about that stuff. But yeah, we’ve got eight different copper chains, waxed and unwaxed. And these chains, well, they are going to be just like the chains you know and probably definitely love inside of your world. Look at these things. They look like a chain. You can place them up and down, or you can place them rotationally, going horizontally as well, just like we took a look at it before a second ago. You could use an axe on them to scrape off wax and oxidization. So, you can change them like that. And just wow. Decorationally, these blocks are going to go so hard. Like a take a look at this little idea right here. We have the chains hanging. We hang a lantern on it. And now they all blend together seamlessly and look really, really good. The cool thing about all these chains here too is the fact that we not only have orange chains, but we have like in between and cyani green chains as well. I almost feel like maybe the devs need to go around the world and add some of these new copper detailed blocks to structures. Like I guess maybe not exactly their classic mine shaft, but then again, why not? Or a brand new coppery structure, too. Last but not least today, over at the crafting table one more time, a recipe that was spoiled for us earlier on. Six ingots, you will get 16 copper bars. Now, all of this stuff is really, really good. And I could honestly, depending on my mood, say each one of these things is my favorite part. But I love the fact that now we actually have a coppery block that could be a window in the game. This is going to have the same exact texture, but a different coloration to the iron bars that have been in the game for years. Just like with all of the other copper things that we’ve taken a look at today, they oxidize. You can wax them. And my gosh, do they look absolutely great. Also, kind of a cool thing, they will actually connect with the iron bars as well. If you place the iron bar down right next to it, the copper bars will actually just sink and link right up. So, that’s pretty cool. What do you think, guys? is the copper blocks. Which one is your favorite? One final thing we need to take a look at here at the end. The chain, which was previously just called a chain, it’s now an iron chain. And if you were wondering, do these chains link up? Well, yeah, just because of how chains are, they do kind of naturally link up. And the chains with the other lanterns, yep, you could hang these things together, too. They kind of link up in a really funny looking way, but it doesn’t matter. You can just do it, and it looks good. I am just in shock and awe and I’m so excited for this update, guys. I love all this stuff. But tragically, I guess our copper menu thing here that was so perfect before is now all out of whack. WW. But anyway, that’s all I got for you today, besties. Thank you all for watching. Smack that like button, subscribe, and stay tuned for tomorrow big stream 3 p.m. Eastern. Survival World. We’re back. Oh, hey, one more thing. I almost forgot this picture. We need uranium ore. Bro, what are you up to? Until next time, it’s been me Waddles. I’ll see you all tomorrow. Goodbye. [Music]

  1. I hope they add rust to iron. If they're willing to do all these copper variants, i can't see why they couldn't add rust to similar items made of iron.

  2. That’s right! You get excited all you want man that’s just what wattles is all about they just wish they could have your energy man don’t let them get to ya!

  3. I'm exited for the copper decorations.

Random guy: But copper will change the balance of the mechanics and…

Me Shut up! SHUT UP! Shove your mechanical game balance up your ass! Iwant copper to be useful!

  4. I think the copper torch emits the same burning color as when you melt copper in a kiln for forging cause it emmits a green flame when it melts it is beautiful I saw the color on other videos when they melt it

  5. I was a little disappointed that you didn't cover the shelves more. Each shelf has its own texture and a different texture on the back, making them excellent thin walls. If you put them up and load them, you can use the lever to lock or unlock them. When you tap on one of the shelves, it loads everything that's unlocked into your hot bar. When you want to change it, just unlock another set and tap on them, they will switch out with what you currently have. Oh, and ladders can go on the back of them. You can put them back-to-back and have awesome table legs. I have been so excited about this stuff, I came here to see if there was anything I missed. I love your stream and always look forward to it.

  6. I just re read the notes, they changed picking up/placing blocks from endermen exclusive to generic in the behaviors… they did something like that with flying mobs and being rideable before happy ghasts were announced, so what new mobs are going to be placing and picking up blocks?
