Can You Design The Perfect Farm in Stardew Valley in Under 2 HOURS?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Decorating in Stardew Valley is underappreciated. Sure, fishing up every legendary in the valley and finding as many prismetic shards as you can in the Skull Cavern is fun, but what is it really if you’re coming home to a big empty field of debris every night? So, that’s why I’ve created this miniseries of sorts where my friend Melons and I go head-to-head in a full-blown farm design competition. And if you haven’t seen my other videos, here’s a quick rundown of the rules. With an hour and a half on the clock and a set number of buildings already built on our farms, we will each have full access to all of the decor through the use of CJB mods to create the best looking farm that matches the set theme. Today we got lucky with enchanted forest and a randomized farm type which in the past has done us dirty, but today we will be on the hilltop farm. Looks pretty promising. And with that, let’s get right into it. Okay, ready. Three, two, one, one, go. Go. Good luck. You too. Okay. Oh, my speed is very, very fast. Maybe I changed that. So, my planning session did not go too well because I’m a little bit unsure how I want this all to go. I love the theme. I’m not a Hilltop hater. We have an hour and a half on the clock and I’m hoping that I can put something together that I’m actually like proud of by the time it runs out. But I think we’re going to start by moving some buildings. Ooh. Okay, good. We can My whole plan hinged on me putting my house here. And then I wanted this to be over here. Oh. Oh. Oh, I remember. I remember. Okay. So, I set these up in my mind up here. I feel like that’s kind of good. I don’t know which ones I want front and center cuz like if I was actually playing, would I want this one? I would want this one closest. But this is this is about decor, about fashion. Maybe we could put like cute benches in between. This one will really come together with the decor. Okay, I swear. Okay, so it did take away the patch of grass that was there. That’s such an interesting thing. I feel like this is an ongoing conversation I’m having with you guys about the grass patch underneath the greenhouse. Apparently, my answer to everything um why’ the grass disappear? Has anyone ever seen that before? See? Okay, guys. From video one, I had this whole freak out, existential crisis, if you will. The fact that when I moved to the greenhouse, the grass went away. Why does it only do that on the standard farm? Okay, I I always whenever I’ve used the hilltop farm, I always put a coupe up here. And I just feel like that’s got to continue. And I don’t think I’m going to keep this second coupe. I don’t think it makes sense. So, I do think we will demolish this one. I wish I wasn’t so set on like certain things being certain way, but I feel like this is just a great this could be a great focal point right here. And so I’m kind of making it a lot harder on myself. Yeah, I think that’s good. Okay. RIP Coupe. You will perhaps be missed if who knows what’s going to happen. Literally, that’s the extent of my planning was just where I was going to put those things. Now, where do I want the well? We could. Okay. Nothing usually fits down here all that well. So, well, well, get it. We’re going to put a well down here. Okay. I’ve never done more than one well, but like we we could do that. It’s not against the rules. Okay. I don’t actually know another good spot for a well. So, we’ve got things laid out a lot more now. I feel like I like it so far. And a huge part now is just going to be decorating. Okay. Let’s just let’s just start and see what happens from here. Is that normally that color? Oh, definitely feel like I want to put something over it then. Yeah, I don’t hate that. I don’t love that it’s like not the same color, but I think it kind of works for what I’m trying to do here. Is that weird? Yeah, that is weird. That’s so weird. [Music] Like putting it over the stairs though looks like it’s a ramp. Just wanted to see how bad it looks. And uh it looks bad, people. It’s not horrible. It’s not great. Okay. Okay. I kind of like that tree there. There’s two spots between here, right? Perfect. Okay, the spacing is actually working out well. Maybe I do Mystic. Oh. Oh, no. Like that’s kind of cool. Going to call Melons or call. You know what I mean? Just checking in. I’m doing well. How about you? We’re doing okay. Things could be worse. I feel like I spent way too much time on one thing. I just feel like I want things to go really well for this one just cuz like it’s such a good theme. We could do we could do grapes. We could do a whole thing of grapes somewhere. That could be really cute. Ooh, maybe I stick a few of these fake ones around. That could be cute. The mini ones. And then we have some trees. Oh, wait. What are they called? I mean, they’re junimo hoods, but I thought they were like cold mini Juno hoods. Oh, just small. My bad. My bad. Okay, cute. Now we add more trees. Does this one look like? Oh, I took a screenshot. Oh, and I placed two, I guess. Now, at this point, we were only a third of the way through, and things were actually going so much better than I feel like they went in the two previous challenges. I don’t know if that’s because the theme was more my vibe or if it was just because third times a charm or maybe just having the full hour and 30 minutes from the get-go made a huge difference. I’m not sure. But either way, I’m not complaining. So, with under an hour on the clock, back to past me. It’s feeling a little messy right now. Maybe I move this all up a little bit. Okay, I I’ve got a new direction I’m going in. I think we might just do a fake one. That doesn’t look good. Hold on. I kind of like that. Okay, it’s like kind of coming together. I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing with this, but it’s it’s happening. Whatever it is. Wait, does that go up further? Oh, I did it again. Why? This should be like that. Like that. There we go. Sure. Okay, I’m back to struggling again. It’s enchanted forest and I can’t think of how I want that to look. Is that even? I don’t even know. Yeah, I’m just randomly placing things. Okay, I think maybe we do some stuff for the junamos right here. So, I think that will be cute. Wait, they don’t Oh, I forgot they don’t grow. No, beans will work. [Music] Man, this is looking more and more random. Oops. Okay, I’m sorry. Editing B here. Do we see this? Yeah, I have been editing this footage for hours and only just now saw that I somehow missed the fact that these fences are uneven. And as somebody who goes on and on about symmetry, it genuinely just shocked me. So, I had to say something. I’m so sorry for the interruption. I couldn’t help myself. Back to past me. We’re struggling. We are struggling. That looks sure uh Oh, maybe we can use some some of this to kind of I don’t know. pull it together. What do we think? What do we think? Okay, I don’t hate that yet. Things could change quickly. Don’t you worry. Now, what kind of plants do I want going here? Trying to think what carrots actually look like in in the game. My gosh, what am I going to plant here? Did I not grab anything else? Cuz this rhubarb is not looking too good. That’s kind of cute. It’s not perfect, but I think it will work. I like that. I think I’m going to have to cuz I don’t have enough time to really worry too much about it. story of my life with this. I swear. Okay, now I think I’m going to place trees in a way that maybe I do like a heart. That could be cute. I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to do that. Where are my trees? Do we do mystic trees? I was going to do coffee beans. H I think I’d prefer coffee beans. Well, it’s too late. I’m already picking these. Oh no, I forgot. Oh no. Oh no. Okay, I don’t care. I’m going back to blue jazz cuz I don’t want to have to pick all these. If you know, you know. Ooh. Okay. What do these trees look like? H. It’s too like tropical. I’m going to say no. Okay. Let’s Let’s test this out. Maybe we do like that and just kind of disregard. Can I not place it there? Oh, that’s so irritating. Okay. Well, okay. I feel like you can kind of tell it’s a heart. No. Yes. No. And I also feel like every time in this challenge, you kind of have to think about how things are going to look from a just a big view. Like a big view, a bird’s eye view. Sorry. Cuz that’s what that’s what we’re voting on. And the only thing that’s important about this challenge is that I win. I’m thinking I should place some of these around it so that the grass doesn’t like overgrow. Sure. What’s the time? 30 minutes. We’re still good. It’s all good. It’s all good. Okay. But I have to make sure I’m not going to go through this whole thing and not have a single junimo placed around cuz if we don’t, I’m going to lose it also. some like kind of rogue fencing I think would do us good. I haven’t really I feel like this is also kind of an important part to uh decorate. Oh man, how does this always happen? Where does the time go? Okay, almost in the last 15 minutes. You spooked me. Oh, sorry. How are you feeling? How’s it going? It’s definitely not as good as I was hoping. That’s okay cuz that’s the same with me. But I think it might be okay. I’m sure it looks great. And honestly, I think I’m actually just going to come back to this part and not even fill it in right now just cuz there’s other more pressing areas and we have 10 minutes left. We’ll go through based on color and just put a bunch of sleeping Gamos everywhere. Silver. The house is really kind of the It just doesn’t look how I probably wish it would. I got like 5 minutes left and I haven’t even placed any of the cutest ones yet. I need more grass. More grass. More GMOs. More GMOs down here by the well. And they’re all just kind of sporadically placed. Okay. More chinamos. Okay, that’s all those ones. I’m scared I’m going to grab one of those. So little time. Oh no, I didn’t put anything there. Let’s just put more grass. Grass. Grass. Grass. 20 seconds left. Oh no. Oh no. Well, that’s it. Who Who do we want to go first this time since we’ve each gone first? Let’s go back to you. And then down here, this is my little garden. this little pond area. Oh, I like the little crystal. And then this is your house, of course, with the big melon in the backyard. Lovely. Got the melons representation. Honestly, one of the things I’m proudest about is my path. This is my other little area. And then these are my slime pets. Oh, cute. You don’t have to come in if you don’t want to. I think I’m safe. [Music] I have to ask. Did you get any animals or is it just slimes? It’s just slimes. And then this is my little shed. Nice. I almost went inside. So, what have you got in here? Nothing. And then this is my other slime. Over here is This is supposed to be my little meditation area, I guess. Oh, sorry. What are you I forgot. I thought that they made a noise if you pressed them. I normally they do. And then up here are my warp totems. Lovely. I like this area. And then my dog is constantly trapped back there, I think. So, and then my little greenhouse. And that’s all. But my dog, he spawns by his water bowl and he cannot get out. Come here. Okay. Okay. I’m here. Oh, this is, if you can tell, the last place I touched. So, it’s just grass. Oh my gosh. Wait, the fruit trees are such a such a smart idea. I did not meet your uh challenge of having any pets or any animals. So, it’s okay. It’s okay. And little coupe. Why do we literally have the same brain? That’s what I was saying. I don’t know if it’s cuz this is like more restrictive layout or what, but if you come up here, got a little garden of I wanted them to be grapes because I was like, “Junos are everywhere.” And then I remembered that those are in fall. I like the beans though. Thanks. And then we’ve got a little garden which leads us to our little pathway. I love the path. The circles are so cute. And the house. Adorable. Screenshot time.
