Completing The Stardew Valley Shipping Collection in Order

An essential part of Stardw Valley is the shipping bin. A place where you can dump absolutely anything into and the local mayor will swing by and turn it into that hardearned gold. But what if we were only able to ship items in the order they come in the shipping collection? For this challenge, I’ll only be able to sell items that fall into the shipping collection. So that means no fish or no minerals. Once I unlock an item, I’ll be able to sell as much of that item as possible. I would never have predicted the struggles of such a challenge and how difficult this was actually going to be. So, join me over the next two Stardew Valley years to try and beat this challenge. Before I begin, I would like to shout out Gwendalin and her attempt for this challenge. And it was such a fun idea, I just had to try it out for myself. The link to her video will be listed in the description. So, here we are on day one. I decided to choose the standard farm layout for this challenge. Sure, other layouts such as the four corners farm or even the forest farm might make things a bit easier, but since I was so limited by what I could ship for the early parts of this challenge, I didn’t see much point. I began the challenge as you normally would do by planting the parnips and clearing an area in front of my farmhouse. The first items on the shipping list were the spring forageables. The first one in line was the horseradish, which I found in the mountains alongside a leak and dandelion, only leaving the daffodil. In the Cindat forest, I came along the final piece of spring forage along with some spring onions, which I wouldn’t actually be able to ship for a long while. I chose to keep the forageables and not ship them straight away. And overnight, I made it to level one foraging. Ever since researching this challenge, one thing was certain that gold was going to be an issue. I will be trying to conserve it as best as possible. So, that meant using mixed seeds and other forms of getting free seeds, such as from the museum. My main strategy for this challenge was simple really. Try and complete the community center as fast as possible with the limited items I could ship. So that meant the first few days of this challenge was spent fishing to get all of the ones I needed. On the 5th of spring, my parnips were ready to collect, which also gave me the fifth item in the shipping collection. The final item I had to find in the first batch of the shipping items was the cave carrot, which I managed to find fairly easy during my first mining trip. An essential part of this challenge taking 5 years or 2 years will be how lucky I get with the traveling cart which could save me tens of thousands of gold. Although it didn’t sell anything useful this time. I did spend my first bits of gold on a green bean starter as it was practically impossible to get one through mix seeds. Although it was at this point of the challenge where it took a terrifying turn. So far this challenge seemed well quite easy until I saw what the next items I needed were. the cactus fruit and the coconut, which can only be found at the desert, or at least once the desert’s been unlocked. This will require us to spend a total of 42,500 gold to finish the vault bundle, which doesn’t seem too bad until you realize that we can only sell the four spring foragables, parsnips, and cave carrots. So, yeah, get ready for the hardest part of this entire challenge, the quest for the desert. If I was going to make anywhere close to 42,500 gold, I’d have to have a plan. And honestly, my plan was using special orders and the help wanted quests to make gold. The only real money maker would be parnips. But growing them would just be a terrible idea, as each seed packet costs 20 gold and then sells for 48 gold at this base quality, which only gives you around 20 gold a profit. Which means on average we would have to grow 1,517 parnips just to get enough gold. Yeah, I know. For the rest of the first spring, I spent it growing and collecting as many community center items as possible to get that ticked off, making sure to complete as many help wanted quests along the way. I did try and grow as many parsnips as I could afford, as once spring was over, I’d be unable to make any more gold outside of cave carrots and help wanted quests. I also wanted to reach the bottom of the mines as soon as possible to make life as much easier going into the summer. I decided to purchase the backpack upgrade and found myself some cool shades to wear. What was even better is on spring 20th I completed the boiler room and unlocked the minecarts. And then the next day I made it to floor 120 and collected the skull key. I did also have to upgrade my axe to copper to help me mine hardwood stumps to complete the construction bundle. And to wrap up the season, I had a huge sprinkler set up on the farm ready to help growth in the summer. Of course, throughout the spring, I had accumulated a few useful items from the traveling cart, such as animal products, but I’m still yet to get a truffle or red cabbage seed. To begin the summer season, I had 5,200 gold and made myself a much more organized sprinkler layout before heading to Pierre’s to buy myself a tomato, blueberry, and hop seed, all of which I had to buy as I couldn’t get them through mix seeds. Since I couldn’t make any more gold now through the shipping bin, I chose to build myself a coupe to begin housing chickens. I would need a large egg of both varieties alongside normal eggs for the shipping collection. As normal, I allocated the first part of the season to catching as many of the new seasonal fish as possible, and I managed to complete the summer foraging bundle with relative ease. On the night of summer 4, I made it to level five fishing. Although, since I couldn’t sell the fish, the fisher perk would practically be irrelevant, so I chose trapper. At the traveling cart, I was offered a duck egg, which I really should have taken looking back, but I chose to save my gold just in case a truffle popped up on the Sunday. But unfortunately, come Sunday, there wasn’t a truffle or anything else of use. So yeah, that was a mistake. I did, however, donate the final item to complete the exotic foraging bundle and a poppy to the chef’s bundle. And I also wrapped up the lake fishing bundle as well. Over at Man’s, I chose to buy two chickens, which can provide me with both variations of eggs, which come up fairly soon in the shipping collection. As I just mentioned, I took some resources to Robins to build me a handy silo, which doesn’t actually cost that much gold and would allow me to collect hay for my vast amounts of animals I’ll be needing later down the line. That was really the main goal until we unlocked the desert. Future preparation, collecting as many shipping items as I could and storing them all ready for when I need them. I did have to make a quick trip to Pierre’s to buy some wheat seeds as I did need 10 pieces of wheat for the foder bundle. Talking of future preparation, I used the chair to access the secret woods to begin collecting hardwood. I’ll need 200 pieces of it to fix up the boat to Ginger Island, which, as you will find out, we will need to do sooner rather than later. I was able to finish the summer crops bundle and reach level 5 farming that same night. On the 16th, the annual green rain event had arrived, which would be a great source of mixed seeds for the fall season. I chose to expand my tree farm today, planting a load of mahogany trees for the hardwood, of course. By the end of the season, I was still growing some summer foragables and corn, and even had an orange and pomegranate tree growing from the prize machine. After such a busy month of completing help wanted quests, we were up to a total of 8,000 gold. And yet, we’re still so far away from that 42,500 gold mark. But don’t worry, I have a big plan for that, which starts well, right now. But before that, I planted all the mixed seeds I’d bought going into the fall season. And I bought a bok choy, yam, amaranth, cranberry seeds from Pierre, which were yet again all impossible to get from mix seeds. I also chose to buy 20 pumpkin seeds in order to get the five-star gold quality ones needed to finish the pantry. On the second of fall, Mayor Lewis, and Robin had constructed a special orders board, which was filled with quests, which were going to be my main money maker from now on. Well, at least until spring rolled around once again. I picked up Robin’s resource rush, which required me to collect 1,000 pieces of stone in only one week. In the evening, I managed to catch the eel, leaving only one last bundle, the specialty fish bundle, until Id completed my first community center room. Of course, the only fish I was missing was the sandfish, which we would have to wait until the desert was unlocked to complete. I spent the next few days inside the lower levels of the normal mines to collect all the stone for Robin. And then I headed over there to ask her to build me a barn. Once again, both milk and large milk come up fairly soon in the shipping collection, so I was making sure I was prepared for later. Looking back on the challenge, I could have just saved my gold all on the vault bundle, but my huge plans in the spring would mean I would never have money problems. Stick around to find out what they are. And no, it’s not farming for cave carrots. Since I had the gold, I chose to upgrade my pickaxe to copper as once I reached the skull caverns, it would be impossible for me to mine anything with just the normal one. The new week special order was fragments of the past from Gunther, which t me to collect 100 pieces of bone in only one week. It was also blackberry season, which gave me a great amount of energy inside the mines. I gave Lionus’ Blackberry basket back, which gave me a decent amount of gold for doing so, and I wrapped up the special order and collected 4,000 more gold. An issue with this challenge, which I didn’t expect, was the storage aspect. Since I couldn’t sell anything, I had no choice but to store everything in chests, leading to having so many chests, more than you’ll ever need. After the full crops had finished growing, I could complete yet another bundle. And I could pick up another special order from Robin, which t me to collect 80 pieces of hardwood, which wouldn’t be too much of an issue since the stumps in the secret woods regrow every single day. I did choose to participate in the Stardw Valley Fair in order to collect a few useful prizes such as the star drop and the prize ticket. I’m still checking the traveling carts every single week, hoping for a truffle or red cabbage. Although, the reason I haven’t been mentioning them is because they were garbage. That was until the 26th of Fall, which sold a sandfish for fairly cheap price, so I just couldn’t resist picking it up, which meant now I could complete the fish tank bundle inside the community center. Unfortunately, this would only unlock panning. That isn’t too useful, but I will be needing the pan on Ginger Island. To wrap up a productive fall, I attended Spirits Eve, made my way through the maze, and collected my golden pumpkin. So, the winter is here, and to be honest, is one of the most boring seasons in this challenge. So, we won’t stick around for too long. Coming out of the full season, we’re on 7,000 gold, and my main goal of this season is to finish up the community center and prepare for the upcoming spring. My big plan for the spring is to cover my farm with sprinklers and plant a crazy amount of parnips, which I can ship off to make enough gold to afford the vault bundle and anything else I wanted in the future. As always, I managed to find Crobus inside the small bush by the playground and collected the magnifying glass. I was then able to wrap up the crafts room by donating the rest of the winter forage. This would unlock the quarry, which is quite useful. I wasn’t wasting any time before laying out the new area for the sprinklers to go. This time I’m using quality ones. The traveling cart did sell some useful items today, such as the duck feather, although I did manage to get one fairly early on in the challenge. Throughout the season, I was completing yet more special orders and as many help wanted quests as possible, managing to reach 14,000 gold around winter 12. The quarry had been unlocked for a while now, and I finally made my way through it to collect the golden scythe. I chose to buy some goats cheese from the traveling cart today since that would allow me to finish the art bundle, leaving only one bundle until the pantry was complete. The pantry was going to be quite important in this challenge because it unlocks the greenhouse. This allows me to plant any crops I had missed any season at any time. By the end of the season, this was the giant sprinkler layout ready for the new season. And even though I didn’t get a red cabbage seed, it wouldn’t be too bad as Pierre would now sell it as we’re in year two. Kent was at my door this morning letting me know that he’s moving back into town, which signaled the start of the second year in the valley. And there was no time to waste. I wasn’t going to have another boring year like last one. I went straight to clearing the debris that had formed overnight and began hoing the land ready for a load of parsnips. At Pierre, I picked up 360 seeds, which I didn’t choose to water today as there was just so many of them. I’ll let the sprinklers do that in the morning. So, that’s exactly how I spent the majority of the spring season, planting and harvesting more parsnips and shipping them for gold. I chose to pick up a special order, which required me to ship 100 green beans, which I did try and plant until I realized that I couldn’t ship green beans. So, that was stupid. Lucky for me, the traveling cart finally sold a red cabbage, which meant I could finish the dye bundle and receive a seed maker. By the 15th of spring, we were up to 23,000 gold. And then by the 18th, I received a large egg and a large milk for my animals to complete the pantry, unlocking the greenhouse. I chose to buy a caviar from the traveling cart as well, since it was an item I needed to ship and would be one of the more challenging ones to get hold of, as I would need sturgeon row, which would require either building a fish pond or getting lucky with row after reading jewels of the sea. Inside the greenhouse, I chose to grow some crops that I’ll be needing later, such as the strawberry and two sweet gemberries. One sweet gem berry for shipping and the other for the star drop in the secret woods. Probably for the first time ever, I used the cookout kit to make Mackie roll, which would save me upgrading the house. I’m sure Pierre won’t mind me just leaving this here later. But finally, after a long time of planting and collecting parnips, I finally had enough gold to finish the vault bundle, which would open up the entire rest of the challenge. Or that is what I thought. I did decide to spend the rest of my gold on even more parsnip seeds since I still had the time for at least one more harvest before the summer season. I gave the wizard the prismatic jelly, giving me 5,000 gold, which 500 of I’d need to get a bus ticket. So, I got my inventory ready, filled with bombs and food, ready to tackle the skull caverns. Just before that, I stopped at the desert trader to trade some omni geodess for some warp totems and spicy eels and triples espressos. But more importantly, I managed to find the coconut and cactus fruit, which would finally allow me to progress in the shipping collection. Whilst I was here, I chose to tackle the skull caverns a little bit. And luckily, I found a dinosaur floor on floor 21. And I got one dinosaur egg, which would be a great find as it would save me searching for one later. And to be honest, there was no better feeling getting back home and shipping off the coconut and cactus fruit finally. But to be honest, that was only the beginning of our struggles. The next item in the shipping collection was the banana. Yep, already. This meant I had to travel to Ginger Island, find myself a banana tree before I could continue, which will probably be even harder than the quest for the desert. I was going to need the gold going forward into the summer season. So, I spent every ounce of gold I had on more parsnip seeds, which I could continue to plant inside the greenhouse, giving me at least a little bit of gold going into the rest of the year. For the summer season, I planted a full field of summer foragables since I didn’t have any gold for anything else. To reach Ginger Island, I would have to fix up the old boat back in Willie shop. But you can only access it after the community center is restored. But the only item I was still missing was a truffle, which meant we either had to get a deluxe barn and then buy a pig or just hope the traveling cart would give me one. But to be honest, I just had to wait for the traveling cart. There was no way I could afford to get all of those upgrades. Whilst I was waiting for the traveling cart to sell me a truffle, I continued to collect even more items ready to ship once the shipping collection opened up. And I continued to check the cart every Friday and Sunday. Around the middle of the summer, I had a fully upgraded coupe with the relevant animals leveling up inside to give me the correct items I needed to ship. Mainly rabbits for the rabbit’s feet and ducks for the duck egg and the duck feather. On the 26th of summer, it must have been my lucky day as I collected a rabbit’s foot inside the coupe and the traveling cart sold me a truffle, which meant I could donate it to the community center and fully complete it. This meant that Willie will show me around his boat in the morning. That was when I remembered I needed five iridium bars to repair the boat as well, and I hadn’t even been back to the skull caverns since the first time I went there. So, I got all of my gear ready, and after a giant run in the skull caverns, I had enough aridium ore. And I actually did manage to get quite far down all the way to floor 58. Whilst I was here, I found a prismatic shard that I returned to the desert to receive the galaxy sword just in time for Ginger Island. I did make sure to check whether I needed a prismatic shard to ship, but don’t worry, you don’t. So, the fall had arrived, but I had one goal in mind. Prepare the boat, which is exactly what I did. So, that meant in the morning I could travel to Ginger Island and begin the hunt for the banana. I prepared my inventory with the usual island resources such as the seeds for the Gorman frog, slingshot for the golden walnut, and a bomb to free Professor Snail. I would actually need access to Mr. Key’s walnut room later on for some shipping items. This meant I would have to collect at least 100 golden walnuts whilst I’m here as well. Once I arrived, I did the usual golden walnut collecting and I managed to unlock the island farm where I planted the seeds and picked up the war momento from the strange lady which I could take back home with me to get even more golden walnuts. Quite annoyingly, there are only a few ways to get a banana sapling. One way is from golden coconuts. Another by trading five dragon teeth at the island trader or completing the giant animal bones in Professor Snail’s field office. I did try my luck at the memory puzzle to get some more golden walnuts, but you lot know how much I hate this, so I just left immediately. Back home, I began trading the items to receive the pirates locket from Willie, which gave me even more golden walnuts. For the first time, I ventured into the volcano where I managed to find my first dragon tooth. And funnily enough, you don’t actually need to ship it. So, if I could get my hands on four more, I would be able to trade it for a banana sapling. I did have to spend a lot of gold though, opening geodess at Clint. This was because I would need access to the sewers to buy myself a void egg and alongside void mayonnaise for the shipping collection. The only other way to get void eggs would be from the witch event, but it’s just so rare. It’s just much easier to do it this way. Anyway, on the 7th of fall, I finally had five dragon teeth, which I could take to the island trader to get myself a banana sapling. Unfortunately, it would be at least 28 days until it would produce any bananas. So I would now have to allocate 28 days to collect every single last item I needed. Whilst I had the time now, I went through each item on the blank shipping collection and moved it to a new set of chests called the shipping chests, which contained every item I needed to ship off. In all honesty, most of the shipping items were fairly easy and simple. It was only a few rare and strange items that would make this troublesome. One of those rare items was actually the ancient fruit, and I still hadn’t managed to get myself a seed yet. So, I took some monster musk to the lower levels of the mines to get me one. I managed to find two, actually. Since we were waiting for the tree to grow, I began the hunt for the next challenging item, the ostrich egg. I would class the ostrich egg as probably one of the rarest items in the game. It requires you to reach the end of the game to get one really. They can either be found inside the volcano or inside journal scraps. So that meant every single day I was back inside the volcano searching more more chests and blowing up more and more rocks hoping to find it. Luckily after a week of searching, I managed to find one inside a volcano chest. I didn’t need to ship Ostrich Mayo, however, so I could just keep this one safe, ticking off another hard item. I also finally took on that horrible memory puzzle, which I did manage to complete after a lot of time. And it gave me enough golden walnuts to enter Mr. Keyy’s walnut room. The reason I needed to unlock this room was for the radioactive ore and radioactive bar in the final pages of the shipping collection. Radioactive ore can only be found during the dangerous mines which can only be activated during the mystery key quest. I didn’t have danger in the deep today, however, but when I do, I’ll be able to get the two more rare items. On the 14th of fall, the traveling cart sold me another truffle, which was just perfect as I needed one more for shipping and I didn’t really want to have to buy a pig for it. But annoyingly, it would turn out I need two truffles. One for truffle oil and the other for shipping. There’s always something with this challenge. I pretty much had every item ready to ship off now, apart from a few tougher ones, such as the truffle, the radioactive ore and bar, banana, and our class agent fruit in there as well. But after one final last scan through the shipping collection, I found something I completely forgot about. The mystic syrup. This single item turned out to be the longest one for me to get as the only way to get it is through tapping a mystic tree, which can only be grown from a mystic sapling, which can only be unlocked after reaching level 10 in all skills, and then reaching at least level one inside the mastery cave. This meant I had to fish for days on end to upgrade my fishing skill, chop trees for eternity to get level 10 foraging, and to be honest, I’m just glossing over it right now. But this did take so long, it almost took me the entire rest of the fall season. For the winter season, I was expanding my shipping chests to the point where I nearly had absolutely everything to complete it once the banana was ready, of course. On the 7th of winter, I finally had enough experience to buy the foraging mastery, allowing me to plant a mystic tree on Ginger Island. I was glad to see once I arrived, I had a fully grown banana tree, which meant the challenge was nearing the end. This allowed me to ship the banana, the sap, large egg, egg, large brown egg, brown egg, milk, large milk, green bean, cauliflower, potato, garlic, and kale, and a bunch more items. That was until I reached the star fruit, which looking in my chest, I didn’t have, so I must have forgotten to plant it. But with some deluxe speed, bro, it won’t be a huge setback. Whilst I had the time, I visited Crobus and tried to buy a void egg until I realized it was 5,000 gold for a single one. But since I could now ship a lot more items, including eggs, which just look at this, I had a load stored up. I made way more than enough gold to buy some tomorrow. This was how the shipping collection looks. So far, we’re nearly halfway through page one. I was actually missing the large goat milk, so I headed to Robins to upgrade the barn once again to start housing some goats. And on the 18th, the starf fruit was ready to collect, which allowed me to ship a load more items. This allowed me to complete the entire page one and then just under half of page two. With page one complete, we’re now straight onto page two. And I was stuck on truffle oil. But I couldn’t really wait around for the traveling cart to give me another one. So I upgraded the barn once again and bought myself a pig. So that meant once spring rolled around, I could finally continue the shipping collection. It was on the 22nd where I got danger in the deep, allowing me to collect some radioactive ore and a radioactive bar for the shipping collection. But that leads us to year three where I received three candles from my grandpa and I was still waiting for the mystic tree to grow and the pig to produce a truffle. Funnily enough though, it would be the traveling cart that gives me the third truffle I needed of the video, allowing me to turn it straight into truffle oil, which allowed me to ship most of the remaining items. And in the morning, this was how everything looked. Page two complete. For the row and aged row, I actually managed to get it using the jewels of the sea book instead of buying a fish pond, which was a nice time save. As you can see, page three wasn’t that much. And I had everything else ready. Apart from that mystic syrup, which just meant a lot of sleeping on the island farm until eventually on summer 10, I received it and could ship the mystic syrup, raisins, dried blackberries, dried mushrooms, carrot, summer squash, broccoli, and finally powdermelon, finishing the challenge. In the end, it took me 2 and 1/2 in-game years to complete this and over 25 hours worth of gameplay. This was probably one of the most craziest and fun challenges I’ve ever completed in this game, and I would love to do more ones like it. If you enjoyed, a like, subscribe will go a long way and allow me to continue doing videos like this one. Again, shout out to Gwendalin and her video. I hope you’re having a great day, but for now, later. [Music]

  1. Obligatory supportive comment 😊

Great video, I'd like to try this one but a slightly more toxic version where you can only sell the next available shipping item. Once it's shipped you can no longer sell that item.

Would you mind if I tried this out? I think I have an idea to finish it faster 😅

  2. An even more difficult challenge: catch every fish in order. The first part would be pretty boring because you'd have to scrounge up the algae and seaweed for a fish pond, which you'd then stock with a fish you purchased, found in the trash, or received from a cat. Green algae is easy enough to get from slimes, but for seaweed you can only get it from the trash or as rare beach forage. From there, you'd need to get up to level 6 fishing to access the sonar bobber. I think selling crops would be fair game to make money so you could at least buy bait and bobber books from the bookseller or (if you're really lucky) the traveling cart whenever you got a chance. Now, you don't need the sonar bobber for the first fish on the list because it has a distinct pattern, but I don't think it's possible to catch a pufferfish below level 6 fishing anyways, and even then a trap bobber (also from level 6 fishing) is extremely helpful

  3. Aaah finally something great to watch after a long day😍
BTW! I have an idea for a challenge I wonder if anyone would try.

No shipping or selling anything allowed. The only way to make money would be doing the help wanted and special order quests (only those which give money as reward). And the villager requests which you get through mail.
And must complete the community Center in year one but using the remixed bundles😆
