THIS Is a BOSS ARENA!?! || Terraria Starlight River

Rise and grind gamers. My name is Tatsumi and welcome back to episode two of our Terraria Starlight River mod playthrough. And hold on. Actually, before we started recording, I just realized, is it just me or like when I zoom out, do I seem more zoomed out than usual? Like, I can’t tell if I can’t tell if it’s just me or not. Like, I’m I’m zoomed out the normal amount, right? Like zoom 100. This is zoom 200. For some reason, I don’t know if this is me or maybe if this is actually the mod, but like it seems like when I zoom out, I’m more zoomed out than normal. Is this placebo? Am I doing this to myself? What’s happening? Either way, that don’t matter to me. We are jumping straight into this episode. We had so much fun discovering all these like random cool new things like this insane looking new biome with some like cool NPC down here. We got some of these weird vengeful spirits and like ancient ceramic new crafting materials. There is so much I still want to do in this mod. And apparently there’s also like just so much new content in general that we can still take a look at. So I want to get straight into it so we can take a look at our episode 2 to-do list. If you guys are new here, I usually do an episode to-do list in the beginning of my episodes to give you guys a little bit of a structure for what we want to have accomplished in this video. So we only have a few things on this to-do list. For one, find more vengeful spirits. Like I just mentioned, these vengeful spirits are some kind of new craft material from killing some like weird loot wraith that was connected to a chest and we managed to kill it and we got these vengeful spirits. these vengeful spirits go into making it looks like a whole bunch of like early game weapons and some cool early game armor. So, I definitely want to get more of this so we can end up making all this stuff and check it out. The next thing I want to do is obviously just go ahead and explore our world more. I mean, we already saw like this one new cool custom biome that was absolutely beautiful and insane looking down here. So, like chances are I get I get the sneaking suspicion there’s probably going to be more things like that in the world. So, I definitely want to go ahead and explore that. Also, we we have barely explored like any of the left side of our world. So, we definitely got to do that. And then possibly lastly, I want to go ahead and take down the Eye of Cthulhu. I say possibly because honestly, I don’t think that this mod is doing anything with like the regular boss, I of Terraria. So, the eye of Cthulhu should be a really easy like pushover boss, which means that if we get to the Eye of Cthulhu fast, then we probably can actually fight our first modded boss of this playthrough, which is the Oracle. It is right down here under the Eye of Cthulhu. And I didn’t even read what it says down here. To spawn this thing in, we need to drop a suspicious looking offering into the prismatic waters of the perafrost shrine, accessed only through the coldest caves. Like, what? What does that mean? Gamers, I’ll tell you what it means. It means that there is guaranteed to be some kind of new cool thing to explore. It seems like in the ice biome, which I don’t think we’ve even discovered yet. So, yes, I guess somewhere in the ice biome, there’s going to be some cool like temple shrine thing, and I guess that’s where we fight the boss. I’m not really too sure. But either way, gamers, we got to go ahead and get to that point in the video so we can go discover it. So, why don’t we go back down to the mines and see if we can maybe find another good cave structure and see if we can find ourselves some more loot rits to drop more of these vengeful spirits. And you know what? Actually, this does give us a good opportunity to go ahead and continue exploring the west side of our world because I think for the most part, this cave that we found, I think we have kind of figured out all of its branching paths. Unless maybe we can go down there a little bit more or like down here. But I think for the most part that cave is like all discovered. So I guess we will go ahead and come to the left side of the world. See if we find any cool caves and see if we can find that ice biome thing it was talking about. Oh, you remember this from the first episode? I suppose now that we actually have torches on us, we can come down and explore here and see if maybe there’s anything cool that we missed. Dude, look at all this wood. This is what I had to do to try and like mine my way back up when I couldn’t see literally anything. Wa. Why is this so long? Wait, what? What the [ __ ] Why was that so long? That’s so weird. There was no like living room loom or anything in there either. That’s so strange. What? What? There’s another room down here. This one doesn’t even have a chest. And there’s still no living room loom. What the [ __ ] is that? What? Where is it going? Okay, that one just disappeared. What is this? Ew. Ew. Dude, what is that thing? Actually, you know what, dude? It’s kind of cute. I’m not going to lie. Like, I don’t like the weird like protruding nose that it has. I don’t know what I would describe that as, but like low key, it is kind of cute. You going to do damage? Are you friendly? I can’t I can’t tell. Is this thing friendly or not? Okay, I know that thing’s not friendly. God damn. Where is it going? Where Where are you going? No. Oh, okay. No, it is not friendly. I No, it’s not friendly. It just attacks very strangely, I guess. I don’t know. I mean, I guess I I’m sorry. I got to kill you, I guess, because you know, you’re not friendly. But like that’s what that thing is cute. Like low key. I suppose seeing as we are in the snow biome, let’s go ahead and do some snow biome caving. See if maybe we can find that weird like altered temple thing, whatever it was talking about. And while we are down here, I did want to say something. Oh, wait. Hold on. Oh. Oh, wait. Hold on. What is that over there? That might be the the the thing. So descriptive, Tatsumi, that was awesome. Well, like I was saying, uh there’s actually two things. One, I did run out of torches again, so we have to use a bunch of these glow sticks, which is fun, I guess. And two, in my last video, I got a crazy cool comment from one of the devs of this mod, which is insanely cool. That’s happened to me like a handful of times in the history of my channel where like if I’m playing a game, a devil will comment or like someone, you know, someone that should get more recognition than they have comments on my videos. And every time it is so cool. So, I just wanted to say again, personally, I responded to the comment already, but like, holy [ __ ] this mod is so goddamn cool. Please keep at it. Like, it is so insanely awesome. I don’t know how big the dev team for this mod is. I’m assuming it’s not just this one guy, but if it is, like, dude, absolute kudos to this guy. Holy [ __ ] And the rest of the team because I do assume it’s probably more of a team. So, what is this? Is this a shrine? Is this the shrine that this thing was talking about? That thing kind of looks like a dick down there. Like, it’s got two balls and you know this neither here nor there. There is a chest though. Oh, look at that. Very cool. So, then is this just a structure? Probably take a life crystal. Oh, and the platinum. Hell yeah, we get all of that. So, yeah. Is this Oh, whoa. Whoa. Where’s that going? Whoa. Down there. An aurora spirit. Let’s go get that. What the hell? That’s so interesting. What? I originally thought Oh, it’s going to keep going. I see. I originally thought that was like the the altar that you used to spawn whatever boss the thing the boss checklist was talking about, but no. Apparently, this is like this is just some cool like house or structure like chest. I don’t know. You know what? Maybe this thing is leading me to the altar. Oh, it’s there’s a chest. I don’t think that’s what it’s leading me to. There is a house down there. What is it? This must be leading us to the altar or something. Something important for sure. Man, I really wish I did not have the copper pickaxe still. If I was smart, I would have done some mining off camera and upgraded that. Whatever. Oh no. Wait, the light went away. Oh, I didn’t notice when it went away. But there is something glowing over here. Is Is this over here like a part of the altar or something? Oh, that’s cool. It’s leading me to another one. Interesting. Wait, in that case, I need to revise my theory. Maybe it just is leading me to a bunch of altars, but if I keep like following the altars, then it’ll lead me to the the thing. Well, I mean, regardless, here is the second alter. So, I guess we’ll also get Hey, look at that flurry. And whoa. Oh, this is a suspicious looking offering. This is what we use to summon the boss. Interesting. And also, frozen Aurora bar. Wa. We are definitely checking that out, but I’m I’m scared. Hold on. I’m scared right now. This This slime is going to die. So many annoying ass enemies. But what is this? The frozen aurora bar. A preserved selection of the night sky. What can we do with this? Oh, very cool. So, we can make it by using frozen aurora chugs. We can get a book of frost, a frost ball, and then also a a gilded suspicious looking offering. Drop in prismatic waters to summon the one the one the squidites worship. Infinite uses. Is that just the Is that the boss? Yeah, I’m guessing that’s just like the boss, but Oh, great. [ __ ] shrine in the snow biome. Please take me to my next temple. Hell yeah, the next temple thing is just right down here. What do I call these things? I feel like they’re altars, right? Like I should be calling them alters, but like I I could they could be a lot of things. I don’t know. This is super cool, though. I got to say it does make exploring the underground ice biome a lot better because in my experience, the underground ice biome is the most annoying one to find like loot and good cave structures in. All right, let me try and out drive. But let’s go ahead and check out what’s in this chest now. Cool. Okay, another pair of flurry boots. We will definitely take that. Also, some more life crystals and highkey healing potions would be good, but I kind of want diamonds. Like I I kind of need diamonds for like magic storage mods. Let’s do that. And then once again, do the other one. Let’s see. Go in still. What the [ __ ] is that? What is this? This looks awesome. It What? Whoa. Oh, that is sick. That’s how you get the frozen Aurora trucks. I was highkey thinking that you would like just get them from maybe beating this boss. Like it would drop as a material. Wa! Dude, that is so cool. Holy [ __ ] Hey, look at that. There’s another one over here. I also did go back up to my base and just dump my inventory because we had so much [ __ ] in my inventory. Oh, wa wa. Oh my Whoa. Jesus. There is so much going on. Holy [ __ ] Wait, I got to Wow. For one, there’s a cool ass looking rainbow sphere thing over here. There’s a bunch of those oric chunks. Whatever. What are they called? And down here, I imag Is this the spawner thing? Like what what else would this be down here? What is this? There’s like a solid black mast down here, which is what the thing was guiding me to. What’s interesting is I also hear like the falling star sound effect from over here. Like every time this lights up is when I hear the falling star effect. And we know, I guess, from like these bars that Yeah. a preserved selection of the night sky. This has something to do with like star power, which actually it seems like a lot of this mod has something to do with like the star power because this is also how we got our armor and some of our accessories by shimmering some kind of star into like water. I don’t even know how you would explain it, but that’s really interesting. Oh, whoa. What? Whoa. Oh my god. Whoa. This looks cool. Place blocks on blue squares. Very cool. Like that. And what does that do? Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. What? This is This is beautiful. Look, I have a reflection up there. What? Whoa. Is that the boss, dude? Is that the boss? That looks There it looks menacing as hell. Oh my god, that’s like terrifying back there. That’s so cool. What the [ __ ] Oh, so if I stand on this platform, it brings me back up. I don’t want to do that, though. I want to I want to go down here. Oh, so Oh, these platforms uh go down, I’m guessing. Does this water hurt me? No, it doesn’t. Prismatic. I’m drowning in prismatic waters. But I’m not. I’m Yeah, I’m not though. I’m I’m definitely not drowning. It’s also for 0 seconds, so it’s just like It’s infinite, I guess, if I’m down here. What is this, dude? This is so Oh my god, the boss follows you. Well, I’m assuming it’s the boss. The giant squid in the background follows you. That’s terrifying, dude. That’s so terrifying. This is where I summon the boss, right? That That would make the most sense. So, this is the one. The Squidites warship. Dude, that is so goddamn cool. Wait, so in that case, though, what what is Why do we need this? Oh, I was right. Okay, I I didn’t read the second line. It does say infinite uses. So, okay, I can just I can combine it with some of these frozen aura bars to make it, but it just has infinite uses. I probably will want to do that, I imagine, because I’m I’m probably, let’s be honest, like this is master mode, and the mod is like, listen, if you haven’t played this mod, don’t play master mode for the first time. We’re in master mode, so like I don’t really know what’s going to happen, but that is so goddamn cool. Next, I would really like to figure out what this giant cool looking orb is over here. Also, wow, that looks terrifying. There’s another Snoobell up there, but it’s like extending its like sniffer out to me. That is Oh my god. That is That is disgusting, dude. I can’t tell what this thing is at all. Like, it’s not Wo. Oh. Oh. Is Is this just more of that like water that was the same in like the uh the temple down here? You know what? I also just realized these things are not penises, which I mean like obviously I knew they weren’t penises. That was just a joke. Like these are like a representation I guess of what this looks like just like smaller. That’s pretty cool because for the most part it looks like everything in here is just like Oh. Oh, it’s not solid blocks. It’s so it is just like a little a bubble of this cool water. That’s so sick. And there’s I guess more down here. I would like Do they have anything cool if I follow these as well? So, actually it seems like these suspicious looking offerings are not like super uncommon. Like we did just loot a few houses and like I got a snowball cannon. Also another suspicious looking offering. So maybe I won’t have to turn them into like the infinite summoner thing if I don’t, you know, need to. But we have also been getting a ton of these frozen auroric chunks. So who knows? I want to see if we can make anything like super cool with these though. Yeah, like there’s a good example. I literally just looted this chest right here, which you guys I know you cannot see at all. I just looted this chest and there we go. We got another one. Whoa. Oh, I thought this was a cool house. I mean, there is a cool house down there. What is this? Whoa. What is this? This looks super cool. Oh my god. What? What is this? Just like some kind of cool little structure? I can’t place anything. Oh no, I can place things in here. What is this? Oh. Oh, it’s like what? Whoa. Is it like some kind of challenge? What? What the? Whoa. That is so goddamn cool. Hold on. Let me actually make some of these snowballs. Let me use the snowball cannon for this cuz it’ll be way better than the spear I have right now. This is so cool. It’s like some kind of monster fighting challenge, I’m guessing. And then maybe he gives me like a cool reward. That’s awesome cuz I didn’t think this was a boss. It doesn’t look big enough to be like a boss arena or anything like that. Actually, it reminds me of like what is that one vampire fight from the Thoria mod? That’s what it reminded me of, but like holy [ __ ] these guys look so cool. Wow. The whatever like shader or effect or like skin, I don’t know. I don’t know what you would call it. like they have on these enemies. Oh my god, it looks so sick. Snowball cannon was 100% the way to go. This is so cool. Oh, look. I didn’t even notice that. Like this guy has a bunch of little like lights around him. So maybe then if I get like what? Two more, three more, then like the challenge is complete. I wonder what the reward is going to be. Wa! Oh [ __ ] I’m guessing this is kind of like the final tier maybe. Like final. It looks like this is the final tier. No, dude. We were doing so well. Oh my god. So cool. So [ __ ] cool. This mod one of the I mean like one of the best I’ve played in so long. Obviously it’s not going to do it justice to compare this mod to like you know Fargo Soul mod or like the Calamity mod that has had years of development and like an infinite amount of content. Like genuinely their own games worth of content. But like holy [ __ ] this mod so far, this is episode two. Like this is making exploration in Terraria so godamn fun. And I’ve been playing this game for like over seven years. You know what I mean? Like holy [ __ ] I said over 7 years. Like that was an accomplishment. I basically started my channel 7 years ago. I’ve been playing Terraria for like for like 15 years. We are 100% trying this challenge again. And I also did put on my like a camera freeze mod so you guys could see it a little bit easier because I probably am going to time-lapse this. So yeah. I mean, let’s just get this thing going. Hopefully, we can get back up to where we got. I feel like, you know, we should be able to. It’s not like we’re fighting a boss or anything. These are just normal ass Terraria enemies. No. God damn it, dude. Again, we were so close. Okay, stop. We are locking in. I’m not dying anymore. Just some normal ass Terraria enemies, bro. This isn’t even a boss. [Music] [Music] Oh, did we do it? Let’s go, dude. Yes. Okay. Whoa. Wait, what did we get? We got a dull blade, some Hermes boots. Dope. And also a strong spear. Okay, the strong spear is probably seems like kind of a lackluster reward for doing this. Like I feel like you probably would have had a better weapon than the spear before you challenged this thing, but like what the hell is a dull blade? Ancient and heavily worn, but still solid. You could forge this into something useful. It is a material. Oh, that’s sick. Oh, dude, that is so cool. This actually combines with some of those vengeful spirits again and we can make these accessories with it. That is so cool. Oh, I thought this was a minecart. What is this? Cheapcakes. Maximum movement speed is doubled when I take What is that? Take up to 25% more damage. Is that what that said? Yeah. Take up to 25% more damage while moving over your previous maximum speed. Acceleration is reduced by 75% when you’re over your previous maximum speed. That’s super interesting. Oh [ __ ] Hold on. We teleported back. I didn’t realize it was a blood moon. Is there maybe any cool new blood moon enemies in this mod? That would be really sick. Chances are probably not because like no one cares about the blood moon, so no one cares enough to improve it in their mods. Like just high key. Wait, what? I thought this was a bit of like gore dropped from a demon eye, but like hold on. A demon eye dropped an actual eye like like the actual an item of an eye. What the [ __ ] is that? What that? What does this do? It’s a side dish. What is that? What is that, dude? I want to know so badly what that means. But like, what is the What are the dishes? What is a side dish? This zombie has something sticking out of its back, which is not a normal thing in Terraria, which makes me think that maybe he’s going to drop something cool or I’ll die and we’ll never find out. Oh no, he did. Whoa. Wait, there is something cool. Living blood. That was the zombie I think that died. Please tell me this is not another side dish, dude. What is living blood? No, it is a material unnaturally pulses with the light of the moon. Dude, what? Oh my god. Damn, dude. This looks sick. No. Damn. The blood moon has ended. I was trying to collect a whole bunch of these living bloods, but it seems like these things are kind of a rare drop. I only managed to get five of them. Apparently, these things go into making some insanely cool accessories and weapons, but I think we do barely not have enough to make a lot of cool stuff. Like, obviously, this is a bad example, right? Cuz we need five to make this cool sword. We do have five, but we need shadow scales, which we don’t have yet. But like, look at this. A tomb smasher with like 20 melee damage. We need 10 of them. The staff of self disassembly, 61 summon damage. That looks and sounds amazing. But we need eight like these things. Ultra pills. I don’t even know what the hell these do. 15. Like, oh my god, these look so cool. I am definitely going to be farming out the blood moon if we get a blood moon soon. Ooh, this is interesting. So, I have been mining a ton, trying to find like any loot rates that I can. Literally, not a single one has spawned in. I guess they are a pretty rare enemy. But, we did get a skeleton traveling merchant here and he sells something cool. He sells some bizarre potions, which honestly kind of fits the theme of my character. You know, bizarre potions. So, I guess we’re going to go ahead and buy this. Oh, wait. It’s stackable. Oh, interesting. It throws a random volatile potion with a random usually explosive effect. I’m not sure if this will like actually break tiles. You know what? I suppose we can find out, right? Let’s see. Will it break tiles? Oh my god. My god. Okay, it looks like it won’t. But holy [ __ ] that is really cool. Oh, that’s really cool, dude. I want to buy a bunch of these, actually. I don’t know what it is about minecart tracks, but I swear I might be the luckiest person in the world when it comes to finding them. I just rode a minecart track that went from all the way over to the jungle to like over there. Like, look how long this minecart track is. And of course, now we are in the jungle. And look what I found. Some kind of slither ring. A small snake occasionally attacks when you use a whip. That sounds so cool. Like, I actually need to show you this minecart track because it is so insane. Also, there goes another skeleton merchant. That’s pretty cool. Like, this is ludicrous. And also, gamers, I think, unfortunately this is where we’re going to have to almost end the episode. We’re not going to end the episode here quite yet. However, I was really trying to go mining for a long time so I could get more of those like ancient spent spirits or whatever, but these loot rates are apparently a really really rare enemy. I have not found a single one. I even tried to like set up a little place for them to spawn over here by putting down a bunch of these golden chests, but like I just cannot find a single one. So, I think instead we’re going to try and get a bunch of those off camera. I’m going to do a little bit of mining in between episodes, so hopefully we can get a bunch of those things off camera. But for now, we can actually make some new That’s crazy. I died. Unfortunate. As I was saying, we can still make some new things thanks to these frozen aurora chunks. And we still did get some cool new stuff like this disinfectant wipe, which like critical strikes have a 10% chance to reduce your debuff duration by 3 seconds. That sounds good. We also got full life now because we found so many goddamn life crystals. And of course, we got the JoJo’s bizarre potions. So, I figure for the end of this episode, what we are going to do is make some cool stuff with these Aurora chunks, hopefully. And then let’s go ahead and bully the Eye of Cthulhu. All right, gamers. I have gotten myself completely prepared for this upcoming Eye of Cthulhu fight. Grab myself a whole bunch of potions. And now we can go ahead and make ourselves a few new weapons to also use this fight. Unfortunately, we can’t make oursel that many weapons because we kind of need a bunch of other materials to make it like more of these vegetable spirits or more of those like living blood stuff like that. But we can still make some stuff. And hopefully the stuff we can make is going to be pretty cool. We can make the Book of Frost. And also the Frost Ball I Oh, interesting. I thought the Frost Ball would be a magic weapon. And also the Book of Frost is an equipment. I Wow. I guess I never really read this. I thought this was also going to be like two magic weapons, but that’s super interesting. Oh well, let’s go ahead and grab both of these things and check them out. So, first off, this is melee critical strikes cause an icy explosion. That sounds cool as hell. Definitely going to try that out. And then for the frost ball, it says, “Strike enemies to build Aurora power. Heals players near the yo-yo based on Aurora power.” Oh, it’s a yo-yo. Oh, dude, that makes so much more sense. I like had no idea what I was even looking at here. Heals players near the yo-yo based on aurora power. That’s really cool. Gives you regeneration when retrieved based on aurora power. Oh, hell yeah. So, like I said earlier off camera, I am going to try my hardest to farm out a bunch more of these vengeful spirits and possibly even more of these living blood so we can go ahead and make a ton of cool stuff in the next episode. But for now, gamers, it has become nighttime. We can go ahead and fight oursel the eye of Cthulhu. Now, the potions I got are pretty standard. You know, the the standard three like swiftness, iron, given regeneration, but there’s also this, the lesser barrier potion. Now, if you guys remember in the first episode, we found ourselves this, the sealass ring, and I guess also the rune of warding. Both of these things give us a barrier. So, we have what 80 barrier right now. If I take this, it does. Oh. Oh, no. Oh, it it doesn’t. Oh. Oh, that sucks. What it was supposed to do here, you guys can see grant us an extra 40 barrier and also greatly reduces the overcharge loss for 3 seconds of our barrier. I guess it doesn’t work if you already have like barrier items equipped. That’s that’s I mean, you know, that’s a little bit unfortunate. It does say Oh, we have barrier sickness. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I don’t know. I don’t really know. I mean, we still have enough potions. I really don’t think the avoc is going to be that hard. In fact, I am so confident I did not make myself a platform for us to run on. We are just going to straight up do it on the ground. Pause. Let’s buff up and get into the Eye of Cthulhu fight. I am so excited. I really want to use these bizarre potions, too. Let’s throw a few of them. See what they’re going to do. I guess they like all do different effects, right? We saw that one. The explosion earlier. Dude, this thing is sick. They also like bounce off tiles or something. God damn. I love this. Same with the frost ball. Dude, we got to try get this like overshield charge healing thing. Oh, I can see it. Look. Yeah, I can I can see that it’s building the aura of power or whatever it’s called. But then if I retract it, I mean, I assume that would heal me. I’m at full health right now, so I guess it it didn’t, you know, it didn’t do anything. That’s super cool, though. Whoa. Oh, there was the explosion. That’s the explosion from uh the this the melee critical strikes cause an icy explosion. Dude, that is sick. Oh my god, these are so cool. These potion things are really cool, too. I didn’t realize there was so many of them. Yeah. You know what? Unfortunately, I have Cthulhu. I got to say, you’re not going to be much of a threat in this playthrough. I mean, you’re not much of a threat in most playthroughs, but like damn, man. I feel bad for you, dude. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Dude, that is huge damage. That is huge. Big damage. What I want to do, actually, I want to get hit a few times so I can see like how good this healing effect is from this yo-yo. Hold on. Okay, I have a lot of that now. There we go. And I retract it. It didn’t seem to uh to do anything. It does. Oh. Oh, it just gives me regeneration based on aura power. It doesn’t actually give me like the straight up health. Okay, you know what? It’s funny, too. I was thinking earlier when I was in the cave like buying these bizarre potions. Maybe I should have bought like some of the yo-yo bag equipment. So, like just in case I get a yo-yo in this playthrough, but I feel like a lot of these mods don’t really do good yo-yos. So, like I didn’t think to actually get any of the yo-yo bag stuff, but maybe I should have. Oh, here we go, dude. Here we go. Phase two. Wa! Dude, that lightning potion is sick. Oh my god. Oh, I could just like hold these down. Oh, wow. These throw fast as hell, dude. This weapon is insane, dude. The bizarre potions are actually cracked. Look at this. Oh my god. I can’t wait for the next episode, too, when we get all those even more like crazy cracked early game weapons. They look so cool. It’s just so unfortunate I couldn’t like grind out any of the enemies that have the drops. [Music] Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Absolutely cracked your damage from these bizarre potions. This might be like the best early game weapon. Like I I mean I haven’t even tried out half of the early game weapons, but like wow. Like pre-boss weapon. These bizarre potions are insane. Oh my god.
