How this 1 emote DESTROYED Roblox’s Reputation Overnight

Roblox has just dropped one of the most controversial updates of the entire year, the UGC emote update, which allows absolutely anyone to make and upload their own emotes to the marketplace. At first, we were seeing awesome new ways to express ourselves, like through the gritty and Gangdom style emotes, and it looked like everything was perfectly fine. That’s when people began to notice something extremely concerning. It started off with a single 50 Robux emote named Booya. players discovered that if you use the Booya emote in a certain way, it could easily become something nefarious. And over the following hours, another strange emote popped up and then another and then another until it started to dawn on the entire Roblox community that there was something extremely disturbing happening that had the potential to absolutely ruin the entirety of Roblox as a whole. So, what on earth is happening? How are these emotes getting past Roblox’s checks? And why on earth is Roblox allowing UGC emotes in the first place? And why am I situation fully, we first have to look at what this UGC emote update truly means for the Roblox platform. Okay, so starting today, Roblox UGC creators can publish and sell custom emotes on the avatar marketplace and inside experiences. Now, this is because previously every single emote that you could buy was from Roblox’s official account. And these were usually collaborations with popular people like KSI, Young Bloodood, and popular brands like Tommy Hilfiger. So, here we can see a more detailed forum post which says that emotes are short animations that an avatar performs, making it easier to communicate and celebrate with others, enhancing the experience to feel more social and lively. It also enhances something more nefarious that we’ll be talking about later. In the future, we will also allow you to publish locomotion. I think what they mean by this are the different animation packs that Roblox has. For example, here’s the levitation animation pack. Yeah, we’re skipping leg day, but I think that actually might be a really cool addition if moderated properly. Ultimately, this means another way for you to earn on Roblox. So, if you ever wanted to create your own UGC emote, all you have to do is create your animation, upload and configure your emotes, and here’s the most important part, pass automated validation. Now, that’s extremely concerning considering the fact that their automated validation process has been known to fail multiple times, not only with the Teddy incident, but also with a lot of their UGC’s that have been sneaking onto their platform for months now. Now, let’s see what criteria you actually need to pass during this automated validation because surely there has to be moderation for these kinds of emotes, right? So, all emotes undergo an automated validation check upon upload to prevent exploits and ensure a good user experience. Your animation must not move the avatar’s root joint too far from its starting position, exceed a maximum frame by frame movement speed to prevent teleportation, and last longer than 10 seconds. Somehow, they have completely ignored everything else in this automated validation. There’s no checks on user safety. There’s no checks on inappropriate actions, and there’s definitely no checks on dating related to emotes, which we’ll be talking about later. And this has led to many of these emotes already flooding the marketplace. So after you get through that automated check, you can publish it to the marketplace and make it non-limited or limited. Price them with regional pricing and publish them via a creator group. All emotes must meet our community standards and marketplace policies. New emotes will be reviewed for compliance with these policies before publication. So that’s really the only thing they have with these emotes. And already it’s not working well. Please tell me there’s moderation for this. All I’m going to say is I hope you’re taking extra moderation precautions for UGC emotes. I have a feeling we already know how this is going to go. 10 out of 10 chaos about to happen. Very epic update, but definitely open to issues. And this 10 out of 10 chaos is exactly what has happened. But how bad are these UGC emotes really? I mean, surely Roblox’s automated checks have it in the bag, you know, and they’re going to prevent all the bad emotes from getting on the platform, right? All right. So, first off, we got the bad emotes 4 hours into the launch of Roblox emotes. And here we can see CreCraft doing the booya emote, which obviously can be used for something other than booyaing in in Roblox. Here we can see a player booyaing all over the Roblox games. Absolutely disastrous. Roblox messed up with UGC emotes. It’s already out of hand. They should have made it public. It should have been like an early UGC with a select group of trusted users. Look at this. And here we can see another Roblox user booying all over another player. Interesting. This has somehow passed their automated validation check, which I’m not even surprised at this point. Next up, we can see the I’m dying emote. Um, and okay, this emote is uh, you know, a player shaking his left hand uh, very aggressively and nodding back and forth. I wonder what this emote will be used for. Next up, we got the I give my heart out to the audience emote for 50 Robux. It hasn’t even been 6 hours, bro. So, yeah, we got the my heart goes out to you. um Elon Musk action that he’s done in Roblox. That’s perfect. Streaming in public service is going to be a nightmare, says Cre. Here we got a group of booyers just uh doing this emote in a circle. What? Which spirit are we summoning? Did he? Next up, we got the push-up animation for 50 Robux, which is definitely going to be used for some horrible stuff. Honestly, this is actually a really good push-up form, but a calisthenics push day is probably the last thing on a Roblox player’s mind. So, I I just cannot see this being used for something good. And of course, we got the lay down emote, which seems harmless, but if you combine this with the previous push-up emote, hopefully you can see where I’m going with this, bro. And again, these are emotes readily available on the marketplace right now. 50 Robux. 50 Robux. That’s all you need to get access to these emotes, and you can use them on any public server on Roblox. We also got the worm. We got the worm from Fortnite, which is uh honestly a really cool dance move, but but then again, I don’t trust the majority of Roblox players to use it for, you know, hitting the worm mid game. Okay, but inappropriate emotes aren’t the only issue with this new update. We also have these Roblox UGC glitch emotes that can literally get you through walls in game. This is absolutely insane and can be game-breaking or even exploiting in many Roblox games. Here we got the fake death mm 2 trolling emote. These emotes can just make you look like you’re dead in game when you’re really not. Here we can see someone actually bee hopping with the Roblox emote. After pulling out the emote, they just get so much speed. And apparently it’s all because of this moonwalk UGC emote which basically just pushes you forward in a in a really glitchy way. Bro, what is this? And then there’s just a whole lot of emotes that are just straight up questionable like this. All right. Did we really need the tank transformation? Bro, here we can see the dropper. What is this even supposed to be, bro? And of course, the one that we saw previously, the biblically accurate emote. When would this be needed, bro? When would you need an emote like this? Oh, no. All right. What on earth is this? The helicopter spin is crazy. Why do I look like a sperm? We got the weird spin. The head walks away. Then we got the I show speed dance. This is a lovely emote. As is usual with Roblox, there’s also a lot of copies of the exact same dance. I’m pretty sure these are like all the same. And apparently, people are just ripping other people’s animations and then uploading it to the store as their own. Obviously, this is controversial as well because the take the L emote originally came from Fortnite. So, it’s just basically a bunch of stealing of stealing of stealing. But yeah, I thought this was a Saddam Hussein hiding spot. Now, unfortunately, even with all the D1 hating, I have to admit that there were at least some good things that came with this UGC update. For example, back in 2019, Cre was asking for a Gangdom Style emote, and it’s finally here. Let’s go. Hey, hey, hey. Oh my god, this is actually insane. We also got the Gritty. Let’s go. That’s That’s huge. Definitely was waiting for this emote to pop into the shop. Now, this one’s got to be peak. The headless hooper, bro. Dribbles through the legs. Shot green. Shout out who’s trade who made this emote. But the most concerning part of this entire update is that Roblox hasn’t even gotten the UGC’s that are currently on the platform under control for months now. And a Roblox Twitter account named Row Catchers has actually been documenting this for months now. All right, so we’re going to be going through the worst of the worst that this account has captured. Here we can see the cheese pizza shirt with 69 on it. We got the I love Minecraft players shirt. Another shirt that says I love young individuals. And what you’ll notice is a lot of these inappropriate UGC’s have this specific flag on it. Here’s another example. So, what exactly does this flag even mean? And is it safe for this flag to be on Roblox? Well, unfortunately, this is actually the map, also known as maps pride flag, which stands for a Minecraft player attracted person, also known as PDS. And here’s some more information about these maps. This flag is being used by Piles on Roblox. It represents Minecraft attracted persons. They infiltrate communities like LGBTQ spaces using tactics like building trust, offering gifts, or posing as peers to groom and exploit kids online. And of course, the FBI always somehow gets related to this. Here got some official FBI symbols that these maps use, like the BL logo and the little BL logo. And then we’ve also got this uh sunshine symbol that is for loving little young people. And of course, it’s on Roblox 2 as a UGC. And the fact that these flags are openly available on Roblox for these maps to use is especially concerning because Roblox is a kids game. Roblox should not be having this kind of flag or allow this flag to be available on a platform full of younger people. This one literally says map pants. They’re not even being slick about it. Here we can see a proud map. And here this person even has the PDF file on their avatar. Bro, they’re just being so plain with it. This is a map in a hangout game. Roblox maps tries to infiltrate these communities. falsely equating their flag for PDF files with valid identities to normalize their attraction to children and groom people a part of this community. It’s very disturbing. And of course, these self-proclaimed certified maps are selling these clothes for only five Robux, which Roblox has left up despite banning the account that made it. And the most disgusting part of this all is that these communities are even blatantly disrespecting people like Eric Castle. For those that don’t know, Eric Castle was the co-founder of Roblox. Unfortunately, on February 11th, 2013, Air Castle unfortunately lost his fight with cancer and passed away. Eric Castle was one of the people that built Roblox’s foundation and helped it grow to where it is today. Yet, the fact that people are blatantly disrespecting his avatar with an absolutely disgusting flag like this, a flag that means they’re attracted to people that have passed away is so disturbing. And the fact that Roblox openly allows this type of disrespect, is simply baffling. And of course, the person that did this in the first place is proud of it and openly flexing this on Twitter. I’m going to be blurring all of their information so that they can’t get any more attention, but they literally say, “I’m on Rogue Catchers.” And this person says, “No way. Show me.” To which they respond proudly with this post. It’s sad to see Eric’s name tainted like this. They’re doing it out of spite or trying to bait a response out of people. Which is absolutely something you shouldn’t be rage baiting people about. Disrespectful as hell. They should bring back actual Roblox moderators. We need a second coming of Mr. Doombringer, who was a former moderator on Roblox that has a literal ban hammer. We also got variants of map. So, here we got the map furry. There’s just so many instances of these UGC’s happening on Roblox. And they’re taxing, too. 85 Robux for an armband. Does this person think Roblox grows on trees? What? We can just see so many of these Roblox UGC’s hopping through Roblox’s system with no problem. Keep in mind this was the Roblox catalog one year before UGC’s. I can’t spot a single weird thing on here. Roblox is a serious UGC moderation problem and it’s only going to get worse with the introduction of these UGC emotes. And although UGC’s like this are perfectly fine and allowed on the Roblox platform, people like John Shedky, who was literally the former creative director at Roblox, somehow was chosen to be banned by the automated Roblox systems for one day for including twitch.tv in his group name. And this was something that he created 15 years ago. When not even this guy is safe, you know, the system is fundamentally broken. There should be a statue of limitations on this kind of stuff. Like if it was something from over 3 years ago, you should only get a warning. Nobody is safe from Roblox’s terrible auto moderation. When the admins themselves criticize the security system, you realize how dire the situation is. Low. Your past actions have caught up to you, fiend. So, if Rolex’s automated systems ban Shidky, I generally cannot see these automated systems properly moderating UGC emotes when they don’t even have current UGC’s properly moderated in the first place. But why would Roblox even add UGC emotes in the first place without any testing or proper moderation built in place? Well, unfortunately, there is a very disturbing theory surfacing online. As we mentioned in a previous video, Roblox’s CEO, David Bazooki, has said that Roblox will eventually support online dating because he thinks a lot of people who might be afraid to go on a real life date might find it easier to have a virtual date to start. And this has led to some disturbing realizations from people online, saying, “Roblox mods watching David add another unmanageable feature in the leadup to virtual dating.” Meaning there might be the potential that Roblox is actually opening up UGC emotes for the specific purpose of, you know, people emoting into online dating, which if true is absolutely disgusting. Honestly, if I’m being real, this update could have been really amazing. But Roblox fumbled the bag with their automated moderation systems and let this update spiral out of control and turn into an absolute disaster. 1. Genuinely feel like if Roblox was 3-8 years younger yet somehow got this controversy, we’d be seeing news headlines like “Massive game company ‘Roblox’ files for bankruptcy after allegedly allowing 18+ material and borderline sexual acts in a children’s game”

  2. As someone who has been playing since 2018 this is absolute bs. I genuinely hate how they are revealing age and will determine ur age on a picture + are allowing such bs and disgusting things along with dating. Honestly I might js delete Roblox. As much as I love the ppl in there this is so stupid, Erick did not die for this bs.
