Eating Every Minecraft Food In Real Life!
Karl:
Today we’re gonna be eating Minecraft
foods in real life and ranking them. I brought my friend, Nick. Let’s do this! We’re gonna start out with…
the “Minecraft Cake”. Nick:
Oh! Can I… Can I be honest? Karl:
Yeah. I need you to be honest. Nick:
I’ve never played Minecraft. I’m totally
serious. Karl:
Is that…is that what he said? This is real? Nick:
I’ve seen the foods, though. Karl: Do you know what this looks like? You know
what this is? Nick: The cake?
Karl: But you don’t know what a “Minecraft Cake” is? Nick: No.
Karl: Okay, well…we’ll teach you about it
along the way, though. Well, you know how to cook better.
Nick: That’s a beautiful cake. Karl:
We…we got all this food professionally made,
so…I hope that your first experience in Minecraft is good, though. Usually when you
eat it, it subtracts a little by little like this. So maybe we should probably eat it like that.
Nick: Okay, so we subtract. Karl: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick: Okay. Cool.
Karl: Let’s do that! Nick:
Flop it open. Karl: Oh!
Nick: Good?
Karl: Cheers! It’s good. Nick: Interesting.
Karl: It tastes a lot better than a cube. Nick:
Classic. Simple. Funfetti. Karl:
I…I always picture it being Funfetti. Okay, since you’ve never played Minecraft,
you need to rank these exclusively on taste and presentation. I’m gonna rank them on how
similar they are to Minecraft. I mean, look! It’s like a 1 to 1. Look at this! Nick: Let’s compare these! It is very similar.
Karl: In game… I mean, like that’s just the icon in game.
It’s even like literally identical, I think. Nick:
Yeah. They’ve nailed like every single
detail. Karl: But you don’t have to worry about that.
Nick: Okay.
Karl: How did it taste to you? Where do you rank it? Nick:
In terms of taste…I would say the…the…the
actual cake itself is a little bit dry. Karl: Oh!
Nick: However, the frosting was nice… Karl:
I like the frosting. Nick:
And the visuals were beautiful. Karl:
“S”, “F”? Where are we looking? Nick: I’m gonna say I would put this cake “C-tier”.
Karl: “C”?
Nick: “C” for cake. Karl:
And then for me, I thought that the
presentation was “S-tier”. Nick: Okay.
Karl: So I’m gonna bump it up to a “B”.
Nick: That’s fair. Let’s give it a “B”! Karl:
Alright. Let’s move on! U0p next…
This one should be a little bit more
familiar to you. Nick:
I’m excited now.
Karl: A cooked steak. A “Minecraft Steak”. You know this. Nick:
I’ve made the “Minecraft Steak”.
Karl: It just looks like a nice,
good steak. It’s a gigantic steak. Alright, let’s go! Nick: Probably the best bite of the steak is gonna
be up here, I’m guessing.
Karl: Yeah. Nick: I think that’s gonna be the best,
most flavorful bite. Ready? Karl:
Do you like that? Does that look good to you?
Does that look right? Nick:
You can tell by the outside bite that this
thing is… quite possibly gonna be a little
undercooked on the inside. This actual cut of meat that we got was massive. It was enormous. Karl:
I mean, this is about the size of what this
steak looks like in Minecraft. I mean, if I’m holding a “Minecraft Steak”,
it’s about that. Yeah, it’s about that. Nick:
Wow! It’s big. Karl:
Alright. Nick:
So…here’s the thing. I thought that the crust
and the sear on the outside was nice. Listen! We got a good crust.
Karl: Fan of that. Fan of the crust. Nick:
I would say the visuals are pretty good,
actually. Karl:
The visuals are great. I wouldn’t call it as
similar as the cake. Nick:
No, it’s not as pixelated as I would like. I would love for there to have somehow been
like little spots of char. Karl:
So where are you feeling on the cooking
scale? Because for me, presentation-wise, I’m in the “A”.
Nick: I would say that the steak for me was
a tad bit on the chewy side, but the seasoning was okay…
maybe a little bit undercooked as well. At the same time, it was very hardy,
and I actually kind of liked the rustic presentation of it. So I’m gonna give it a “B”. Karl:
Okay. It can’t be on the same level as cake though,
right? Nick: Ah!
Karl: That cake was great. Nick:
Yeah, you could put it lower than the cake. I
think the cake was better. Karl:
I think it’s a “C-tier”. Unfortunately. Nick: Yeah.
Karl: We’re gonna get to our “S-tier”,
though, if we have more. Nick:
Careful, everybody! I got TNT. Karl:
Alright. Ready? 3, 2. 1. Reveal! Nick: Ooh!
Karl: Oh!
Nick: Oh! Karl:
Yeah. So I got the “Baked Potato”. But there is also a “Poisonous Potato”. Nick:
Do you die if you eat this in the game? Karl:
In the game you definitely lose out. Nick:
Okay. Just toss up a little “Health Bar” for me
here, and we’ll see kind of how I’m doing as I eat this thing.
Karl: Yeah, yeah.
Nick: Oh! Karl:
Yeah, man. Mine looks pretty terrible too. Nick:
Yours looks really good.
Karl: Yeah, mine looks really good. Nick:
Oh! I got some of the green sweet liquid. I don’t know what it is. There’s,
like, gumballs on there. What is that? That’s disgusting. It’s hard. Oh! Nick: What is this?
Karl: It’s the poison. Nick:
Oh, this is disgusting. I don’t even want to look. Karl:
You go for seconds. What are you doing? Nick:
Oh, I just got hit again. Karl:
Okay. Swap, swap!
Nick: I got poison on my fork. Nick: Oh!
Karl: I’m not…
Nick: That’s disgusting. Karl:
“Poisonous Potato”. Karl: Presentation was…
Nick: …not too bad. Karl:
Regular “Baked Potato”. Nick:
Kind of similar. Karl:
Yeah. I mean, can I just go ahead? I mean, to be fair…it did what it was supposed
to do in Minecraft. I might put it up to “D”, to be honest. Nick:
I’m gonna get “Poisonous” out. That’s…I can’t
defend that. I can’t defend that.
Karl: Yeah. That’s terrible. Nick: “Regular Potato”…
Karl: Mhm.
Nick: Very simple, very basic. I like potatoes. Karl:
Whoa! Okay. He’s a “Baked Potato” guy. Okay. Up next…
One of my favorite foods in all of Minecraft. “Suspicious Stew”. It actually comes in a
wooden bowl in Minecraft. Nick:
It’s called “Suspicious Stew”? Karl:
Yeah. So it’s “Suspicious Stew”, because when
you eat it, you don’t know what’s gonna happen. But usually it’s like some sort of
“Random Buff”. You want to get a little spoonful? Nick:
Okay. Karl:
A little green stuck on my spoon. Wait! I like the mango. Nick:
The flavor is amazing. Karl:
Yeah, that’s really good. “Random Buff” this
time was clearly fire resistant, because it’s spicy. Nick:
This is very good. From a flavor standpoint,
you would agree, right? It’s super well balanced. Karl: Definitely.
Nick: Tons of different herbs and
seasonings in there. And there’s just a tiny little kick of spice. Let’s see the comparison here!
Karl: What do you think?
Nick: Oh, okay. I don’t see the purple. Karl:
Not enough purple. Nick:
Where’s the purple? There’s no purple. Karl:
I will give credit where credits do. They had
the wooden bowl. Nick:
They had the wooden bowl. They had the spots
of green. They had kind of the spots of like this pinkish orange.
(Distorted:) Where’s the purple? Karl:
Probably gonna give it a “B” for presentation. Nick:
I would also give this a “B”,
by the way. Karl: Really?
Nick: This had the best seasoning of
anything that we’ve had so far. Karl:
Okay. Nick: Yeah.
Karl: Everybody that actually plays Minecraft
is gonna be blown away that we put that above a steak.
Nick: Really? Karl:
That’s okay. We’ll move on. Was a bit spicy. So now we can quench our
thirst. Nick: Oh!
Karl: There are potions all over Minecraft. Nick:
These look like Fortnite shields. Karl: Little “Shield Potions”?
Nick: Yeah.
Karl: Well, here…try this one first, and then I’ll explain what each of them are supposed to do
in Minecraft. Nick:
Okay. Oh! Karl:
That one’s a…uh…That’s a “Poison Potion”. Nick: Oh!
Karl: But…here’s a “Healing Potion”. Nick:
That’s disgusting. Oh, that smells good. Mm. It smells like liquid gummy bears. Karl:
Oh! Whoa, whoa, whoa! Okay,
so that one is supposed to help with swiftness. So you’re supposed to run faster
from taking that.
Nick: I’ll get started. I am Usain Bolt right now. Karl:
Poison. Do you want to rank poison first? Nick: Poison…Let’s put it in “D”!
Karl: “D”? Okay. Karl:
It’s not as bad as a “Poisonous Potato”. Nick:
No. Karl: Alright, let’s throw it in “D!
Nick: Yeah. Karl: That’s fair.
Nick: I would say “D”.
Karl: Okay, we got…we got “Healing” and we got
“Swiftness”. “Healing”. Nick:
I’m gonna go…”A-tier”. Nick: Loved it.
Karl: And then “Swiftness”… Nick:
Who doesn’t love to be fast? Karl: Yeah.
Nick: But flavor wise lacking a little bit. “C-tier”. Karl: “C?”
Nick: Yeah.
Karl: I think that’s fair. Nick:
You got all those?
Karl: I like all of those. Well, in Minecraft…this might be something
that you’ve never eaten before. I don’t know though. I could be wrong. It’s
definitely a very random thing. Nick:
Let’s see! Oh, cool. Karl:
Yeah, this is the part of the video, where I
let you guys know: Don’t…don’t eat this at home! Nick:
I hope that we trust whoever made this. Oh, it’s so squishy. Karl:
So in Minecraft Steve does not eat this,
but I figured… you know, it’s such a pivotal part of
Minecraft that we should give it a try. Nick:
Here goes nothing. Karl:
It tastes like asparagus a little bit. Nick:
Asparagus mixed with…uh…
Oh! Mixed with aloe. It’s very gelatinous and
sticky. The more I chew it, the less I like it. Karl: Okay.
Nick: Kind of cool. Kind of cool. Karl:
It’s cool that we ate it,
but I will say…it’s not a block. Also, you can’t eat this in Minecraft…
so I don’t know how to judge it myself, but… Nick:
I’m happy that we got to eat this. Nick: This was fun.
Karl: Yeah.
Nick: This was my first time having cactus, I think.
Karl: Really?
Nick: I think so. Karl:
So what do you think this ranks at,
though? I don’t know if I was, like, obsessed with that…at all…taste-wise. Nick:
It smells like something. Can you help me
figure out what it smells like? No, I’m not gonna whack you in the face with it. Karl:
It smells like asparagus. Nick:
It smells like a roasted…green pepper. Karl:
Okay. That’s what I was gonna say. Nick:
“C-tier”. Karl:
Really? Nick:
For me, I’m going “C”…”C-tier”. Karl:
I’m…I’m putting it down to “D” then.
Nick: Are you really? Okay.
Karl: It’s not a block, dude. It’s not a block.
Nick: Yeah, you’re right.
Karl: Alright. We’ve been adventurous. It’s time to chill out a little bit. Let’s go ahead and get back to the basics! “Minecraft Cookies”. These cookies were
actually made… with Feastables. Have you tried the…these ones?
Nick: No, I didn’t even know that…
Karl: The new hazelnut. You can try
one, but then you also have to eat the cookie. It’s arguably my favorite one, to be honest.
Nick: I was about…I was about to say…not to
steal your thunder, but I was gonna say it might be my new favorite Feastable. The
texture is silky smooth. Karl:
So that would be “S-tier”. The problem is…
we’re ranking this. But here we go. We got the cookies. Nick:
Visual is awesome. Karl:
I like this. I think I’m…I’m having fun. I enjoy the…there’s Pixel Cube Feastable chocolate.
Nick: Yeah. The chocolate is great.
Karl: That’s a good one. Alright. Dude, I love cookies. Nick:
Yeah, these are very good cookies. They have that perfect balance between that
kind of crusty, crispy edge and then the soft, chewy interior right there. Karl: Mhm.
Nick: And then the chocolate on top is really
nice. Nick: So I’m gonna give this a very, very, very solid
“A-tier”.
Karl: Presentation… different. That being said…
Nick: Yeah.
Karl: …this one is Feastables. You said “A”. But Feastables gave me money. Nick:
You can be bought really easy, huh? Karl:
Yeah. That’s it. That’s all it takes. Alright. Let’s hope…that one was easily the best one,
to be fair. Nick:
That was really good. Karl: Okay.
Nick: I’m excited for this one. Karl: Oh!
Nick: And I’m not excited anymore. Karl:
“Spider Eye”. Nick:
What? Karl:
Yeah. You can eat a “Spider Eye” in game. This is pretty close to what a “Spider Eye”
actually looks like, to be fair. But I will tell you, this isn’t actually a “Spider Eye”. It’s salmon…with a lot of red dye. Nick:
It’s probably horrible for your body. Karl:
You don’t like this? Nick:
Yeah…
Um…I’ll just eat a piece of chocolate on this side. Karl:
Okay. I’m going for it. Nick:
Mm. Yum! I don’t know. Karl: Ah!
Nick: He’ll be right back. Karl:
This is a “Spider Eye” in the game. I mean, it does look like it…
but this is the worst thing I’ve ever put inside of my mouth. Nick:
It looks very, very similar. Karl: Yeah.
Nick: I’m gonna let you do the honors on that one.
Karl: Yeah, I can’t wait to put this right here. Alright, let’s move on! Up next…
they’re not the same exact item, but they’re like kind of sibling items in
Minecraft. We have a “Honey Block”… Nick: Oh!
Karl: …and a “Slime Block”. Nick:
(Distorted:) There’s so much green in Minecraft. Karl:
So the thing about these is,
if you jump off and land on them… You’ll actually bounce. Karl:
Alright, I’m going in. Going right in the
middle. Nick:
Did you hear that? Karl:
Yeah. That’s not making the noises I like. Nick:
Listen to it! Karl:
Alright, I’m ready for the “Cheers”-ing. Yeah, it’s Jell-O. Nick:
Yeah, it’s pretty…classic. Sweet, jiggly. Fun to play with. Karl:
This is what they look like in the game. Nick:
Okay. Karl:
Pretty similar. Nick:
Pretty similar. I wish it was more of a sharp
block. Karl:
It’s really hard to make blocks in real life. Nick:
I’m gonna say mine is going “D-tier”. Karl: Whoa!
Nick: Jell-O is a little boring to me. Karl:
I completely agree. That’s fair. Go ahead, throw it on “D”!
And guess what I’m gonna do! Nick:
Where’s this going? Karl:
I’m gonna…also throw it on “D”. My bad. Also throw it on “D”. We’re running out of “D” space. Up next…we’re in for a delight. Hopefully. Because these are the 2 golden
food items. We have the “Golden Carrot” and the “Golden Apple”. The “Golden Apple” is probably
the most iconic, the best food in all of Minecraft, I’d say.
It literally gives you extra hearts. Nick: Go for it!
Karl: Okay…but is it gold on the inside?
Because it is in Minecraft. I mean, it’s actually yellow, to be fair. Nick:
That’s cool. That’s…that’s…that’s good. It is golden inside, basically. Karl:
Yeah. That’s good. Nick:
Question is…Whoa! Oh,
it’s kind of…I feel like I need to melt it down, instead of cutting it.
Karl: There. Nick:
I mean… Karl:
Yeah, that’s gold, dude.
You’re going in? Nick: Yeah. Oh!
(Distorted:) It’s very hard to eat. Karl:
Mine’s not bad. Nick: Really?
Karl: Yeah.
Nick: I can’t even chew mine.
Karl: Really?
Nick: Try it! Okay. Karl: Oh, my God!
Nick: Yeah. Karl:
I’m realizing it’s not that easy to eat gold. Nick:
It gets super stuck to your teeth, and you
can’t do anything. But this is delicious, though. This one from the visuals… And then the taste reminds me…kind of a lot
of the cake. I’m gonna give it similar ratings to the
cake, I think. Karl:
Doesn’t it look beautiful in Minecraft? Nick:
This is a rare situation, where I think it
looks even better in Minecraft than it does in real life. Karl:
Yeah. And the “Golden Carrot”…I mean,
I think they did a good job, too. Nick:
I think I’m gonna go…
Hmm… Karl:
It was…it was really good,
but just hard to eat.
Nick: For this one, I’m gonna go…”A-tier”. Karl:
Okay. I might throw this in “B”.
Nick: I’m going “A-tier”… for this guy.
Karl: That’s amazing. Nick:
Yeah. I really liked that one. Karl:
Well, do you feel stronger now? Do you feel
like…healthier? Nick: I feel…
Karl: Should I, like, hit you or something? Karl:
Well, we’re on to the final one. I kind of lied to you…at the beginning of the
video, when I told you that we were gonna be trying
Minecraft foods. This is not a Minecraft food, but it is a Minecraft item.
And I’ve always wondered how it would taste in real life. So then…that’s the whole reason
we made this video. So… These are “Ender Pearls”. Basically, you hold one in Minecraft,
and when you throw it, you just teleport. Nick:
Oh! I like that. Karl:
Yeah. I don’t like how easy my teeth went
through it. Nick:
Yeah, this is weird. This feels like it
should be a toy. You see what I’m saying? Like,
it just… Karl:
It does hold a weird…
Yeah, it weirdly…it has, like, an inner core. Should I go in deeper? Nick:
Yeah. I think you gotta go deeper. That made a horrible sound. Karl:
I don’t know what to think. Where do we rank
it? Visually impressive. But…I think they did a great job of trying to
make it look like it in real life. Nick:
Yeah, they did a really good job,
actually. Karl:
Dude, chill! You’re gonna teleport. The final
ranking. Where do you think? It’s better than this. Nick:
I would give this one… …a “C-tier”.
Karl: Fair enough. Nick:
Do you like that?
Karl: Yeah, I like that. And if you guys
like this, don’t forget to subscribe, and we’ll see you
guys in the next one.
