ABSOLUTE CINEMA
Man, I so wanted to like this. I have no earthly clue why someone would choose to animate in this grotesque style a game that is specifically known for it's beautiful, cozy aesthetic. Eric Barone spent literal years hand-drawing everything in that game and edited and redrew everything until it was absolutely perfect and it produced this delightful, nostalgic vibe with this.. not-overly-cutesy pixelated look that so many people (myself included) loves so dearly. So to create an animated story about it with this…Ren & Stimpy-style overly exaggerated gross expressions with bared teeth and bulging eyes and veins, etc. just bewilders me. If anyone ever decides to do something similar, I would genuinely really love to see a beautifully animated stardew valley homage. This…this is not it. Sorry.
