The BIGGEST mistakes Terraria players make

half of these are just things that people do during multiplayer games with me, either friends or viewers lol
Decided to try something a bit different and give some more widely applicable advice here. Been a bit busy, which is why I haven’t uploaded much.

  1. 4:14 A NPC village can consist of up to 6 NPCs, if everyone has 2 neighbors, or 5 if the last links do not like each other.

You get the bonus if not more than 2 neighbors and 3 other NPCs (along with the central that's 6) are around.

I can't proof it's the best config (iterating over all possible takes more than a few hundred years), but a few loadouts of mine look like this:

    Zoologist – Golfer – Angler – Pirate – Tavernkeep – Demolitionist – Zoologist

    Painter – Steampunker – Cyborg – Mechanic – Tinkerer

    Merchant – Princess

Princess -Tax Collector – Clothier – Princess (Note Princess likes up to 3 NPCs nearby! Hence her used twice)

Guide – Truffle – Dryad – Witch Doctor – Guide

Stylist – Party Gal – Wizard – Nurse – Arms Dealer – Dye Trader – Stylist

  2. may i just say, i greatly appreciate your content because it has deepened my understanding and helped me understand the game on a whole nother level. i am eternally grateful for the statistical analysis to make the game most enjoyable at higher difficulties. I'm just pissed off that the dungeon aint spawning skeleton snipers for the scope and I've only seen 3 in many hours that are only dropping rubbish

  3. i disagree about not digging straight down i use the hole too get too hell in one drop also i love makeing ornate and pretty giant buildings then fill it in with housing with the bottom floor dedicated too chests and crafting stations

  4. Never farmed for nor gotten one. Just have never seen the point. Only time I’ve seen one is when a friend got one after killing a few chaos elementals in a multiplayer run.

  5. rod of discord is wasted hotbar space that'd be better used for another weapon/tool/utility item
and besides if you really can't dodge a hit it's more efficient to just try and tank it instead of wasting DPS uptime switching to a rod of discord
only reason it makes sense to use it in combat is if you have a shrimpy truffle and you want to trade health for damage

  6. I HATE the rod of discord

THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANO-ANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR THE ROD OF DISCORD AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT.

^under-exaggerating how much I hate the rod of discord

  7. Rod of Discord has never been a combat/boss dodging tool for me, it's just the epitome of convenience to bounce from one walled and seemingly inaccessible location to another with ease. With that said I haven't ever wasted 20 hours farming for it, I either get it a couple hours of being in the Hallow or I don't. The same goes for the Shellphone, it's a also convenience item. Plus you didn't mention, it allows you to warp to both spawn and home. Allowing to instantly and on demand teleport in 5 locations, extremely good. Not to even mention just how satisfying it is to collect all the materials for it and finally obtain it. I'm not a sweaty tryhard and I just want to enjoy the game, slowly collecting all the cool materials.
The biggest thing I learnt from this video is that trench around house is good.

  8. I've been using smart cursos/tool since I started playing the game, and can't really imagine how someone can go through without using them 😅 smart tool to pull up a light source is really nice, I can save some space on my hotbar and let my torches and lightsticks at the corner of my inventory

  9. 9:20, for PC users, there's a texture pack that makes the flowers from planter boxes invisible. Not only getting rid of screen clutter but also makes using the boxes for growing potion plants easier since it'll only show those plants and not the weeds
