The magic of how claw machines works, is that they have programmed strength and for the most part, it's just set to loose. But after a certain amount of tries (depends on the owner who set it up) there is a "guaranteed win" round, with much higher force on the claws. That's where you have the biggest chance to win.

The secret is that the claw machine is set up to have a random grip strength between like 10~150 or maybe more or less depends on the machine.
Fun fact:
Claw machines are purposefully rigged to only work once every 15 times (around) just to steal your money.
