I’m at 28:43 and am desperately hoping Luke 1) finds 2 more cobblestone and 2) realizes he can smelt the iron bars and doors down into nuggets to make ingots, which would give him a bucket. If he can just do that, then moving the lava would be a viable solution, and if he’s got water around somewhere, he could even make a cobble gen.

From what I understand about zombies, they occasionally spawn reinforcements when they take damage. So theoretically, it's best to deal as little damage as possible to a single zombie for as long as you can, steadily taking one heart or a half until it eventually dies, hoping that it spawns more zombies.
That's right. In minecraft, even death can't spare you from being tortured.
Also, no, you absolutely could fish infinitely. There's a chance that you might fish out a mending fishing rod, and since you gain xp every time you successfully fish out something, that rod will repair itself. So yes, infinite fishing is indeed an option.

For the record, you would be able to fish for a pretty long time even if you couldn't get fishing rods, it is possible you would eventually not be able to depending on RNG for fishing sticks. You can fish for sticks and kill spiders for string. Also, you can cook the fish if you were able to get enough cobblestone because you can burn wool or carpets which you can get from spiders (also things like fences from libraries though those aren't renewable)
Also for the zombie design (or any mob farm), if you place carpets with a certain spacing (I forget what it is exactly) but you can stop spiders from spawning which would increase rates.
Also also, zombies can drop carrots though dirt would be a problem, if you got really lucky with an enderman like you did then it would be possible.

Okay but like- this one HAS to be the most RNG based one you've done so far, there is no way to beat this without a god tier spawnhold, I mean, technically there IS, but I think trying to make shift a monster farm in a spawnhold is gonna be hard as hell.
what would you place a door against a wall like that? if you look at the other corner while placing, it will place the other way. then as long as you're running slightly angled toward the wall, you can run straight through the opening without having to worry about alignment.
