The only reason i always choose crimson over corruption is because corruption is so unbelievably annoying to travel through. Sure aesthetically it is better when a biome has unique terrain but god is it annoying to travel through those holes in any stage of the game
Though desert might be even harder than the jungle, its still very useful and im always sad people overlook it. Youve got sandstorm in a bottle, flying carpet, instant ocean teleport, ancient chisel, pickup lock, boots that make you go a lot faster on sand, and the enemy drops arent that bad too. Without the desert you wouldnt have Onyx blaster, sky fracture, desert spirit lamp, forbidden armor, bundle of balloons, shellphone, hand of creation, you wouldnt craft mining potions, desert is the easiest source of amber, sturdy fossil, and there are for sure more trivial things like basilisk mount

Crimson gives you brain of confusion which outclasses worm scarf and you get ichor in hard mode which is way better than cursed flames. I also get way more utility out of vampire knives than the scourge. The only thing the corruption has going for it is the musket. Terrible rating putting crimson above corruption 💀🙏
I always prefer crimson because it's design much less irritate in begining. You don't need to jump or build over tons of pits, just one/two cave entrance. And imo ichor much better than cursed flame
