Found this organically. You can also use a similar method to line hellevators with a block. Just grapple to the wall, aim at the wall slightly above or below (depending on if you're going up or down) hold down the mouse to place blocks, and mash e.
ive always known grappling hooks could go through one block gaps like this, but i never knew you could use it like this! really interesting, thanks for the info
