⛏️ Annual Recap ⛏️

This year Mojang released Spring to Life (mob variants, fireflies), Chase the Skies (ghast mounts), The Copper Age (copper golems, new uses), and Mounts of Mayhem (nautilus mounts, spears). So overall a slower year for world gen, but still new reasons to explore, and our seeders still managed to get very creative.

We started the year with a Pale Garden trend after their release in ‘The Garden Awakens’, seeing all sorts of beautiful valleys, lakes and mansions. The larger valleys and lakes trend stayed as strong as ever, with plenty of top ‘Cherry Valley’ and ‘Mountain Ring’ seeds.

Thanks to NoiseSamplerGUI by Fragrant Result we’ve seen incredible ‘amplified’ structures and biomes this year. Most notably, u/DylanDC14 and Damduck found the highest known point in Minecraft at Y = 301. The same trend also led us to finding overground structures deep down in caves, some as far as the Deep Dark and in Ancient Cities. A few of these are featured below.

We’ve also seen crazy structure combos that show where the term ‘Bugrock’ comes from, as well as new tools pushing the limits of what’s possible even outside of bugs. This has included double stronghold portals, twelve eye portals, quintuple structures combos, and quad ocean desert temples. Be sure to check out the green ‘Featured’ tag for a concentrated look at all of the finds.

🏘️ Around the Community 🏘️

Over in the YouTube community we want to give a special shout out to both Minecraft & Chill (u/MinecraftChill) and Stofix (u/stofix_) who’ve hit milestones and continue to bring seeds into Minecraft pop-culture.

This year AwesomePlayer98 hosted the first Seedfinding Championships, a technical competition for chasing down ultra rare world-gen features. There’s talk of a new competition at the start of 2026 so if you’re interested follow the Discord link above. (Just don’t ask how the review video is coming along! 😆)

Minecraft@Home (u/minecraftathome) continued to break new ground, finding new panorama seeds in as little as 14 hours. Most notably this year was the mega project to find a Mushroom Island spawn in current versions. It took beyond trillions of seeds checked by dozens of specialist seeders but of course they made it work! Video here.

🔬 Seeding Tools 🔬

The website McSeedMap (McSeedMap by Megsys gained traction this year, notably as it allows basic automated searching without needing any downloads, as well as regular map view. If you’re looking for a tailored seed with a few chosen biomes and structures, this is the perfect tool for you.

The website and Google play app Seed Map viewer (Seed Map by u/f3rpas also gained attention this year. This platform allows brilliant 3D and orbital views of any seed, including structures as well as foliage. It also has the ability to find specific things within seeds, so if you have a world and want to get to know it better, this is for you.

MCSeedShare MCSeedShare by iCreaty is another good 3rd party database to keep in your seeds rotation. It’s continued to grow this year and supports many filters to search by, which can be more functional than Reddit’s search bar, and it has support for different languages.

🎭 Memes 🎭

As always, r/minecraftseeds knows how to have a laugh. We certainly found that some Minecraft Movie references made their way into the sub, the usually insane requests, and what else would our top post be if not a give me your seed bro comment?

We’ve seen 69 mountains, suspicious lakes, and request diagrams that Pablo Picasso himself would not be able to design.

We have a channel in our Discord for sharing memes, whether they’re about seeds, Minecraft or anything else. We’re looking at including some memes in the monthly round up posts, so if you have some good world-gen/minecraft ones that you think would fit, this is the place!

🆕 New For 2026 🆕

We are excited to finally show off our very own Users Flairs. These are tags of every biome in the game, so that you can represent your favourite by your username. We’ve also included some special tags for dimensional features, common world gen features (lakes/valleys) and even one or two modded and archive version biomes. We’ll be looking to optimise and refine these as we go based on how well the system comes off and the resources available.

We’re excited to see what seeds brings next year. We’ve just crossed 400k users, so next year we’ll be seeing what progress we can make to 500k! The Seeds of the Month will continue, and we are planning to renovate the Discord. We’re looking forward to seeing you next year, but for now, enjoy the holidays!
