Terraria is an action-adventure sandbox platformer game developed by Re-Logic. Dig, Fight, Explore, Build: The very world is at your fingertips as you fight for survival, fortune, and glory. Will you delve deep into cavernous expanses in search of treasure and raw materials with which to craft ever-evolving gear, machinery, and aesthetics? Perhaps you will choose instead to seek out ever-greater foes to test your mettle in combat? Maybe you will decide to construct your own city to house the host of mysterious allies you may encounter along your travels?

The Calamity Mod is a large content mod for Terraria which adds many hours of endgame content and dozens of enemies and bosses dispersed throughout the vanilla game’s progression. The Calamity Mod also features several harder difficulty modes, such as Death mode and revengeance mode five new biomes and new structures, a new class, a new leveling mechanic, more than thirty new songs, over fifty recipes for previously uncraftable vanilla items and other assorted changes to vanilla gameplay.

This is not 100 days, 100 days terraria, 100 days minecraft or 100 days calamity mod,

  1. After seeing that new Calcast episode from GP, this feels like a great step forward for Calamity. It's very apparent that the team wants to work on their organization structure and creative direction before making more content, and I think a fresh slate, unburdened by ongoing projects like the Sunken Sea update, will be crucial for the mod's relevance and longevity. I hope they manage to recover and redirect Calamity in a more healthy, productive direction.

  2. Every few months I get so much dopamine from the fact that the guy who directly insulted me and threatened to ban me while I was having a respectful conversation over the recent DR nerfs between two random calamity players on the discord had everything taken from him overnight.

  3. As expected, "soon" means "at least a year, probably two"
Glad we're at least getting something before then, but still incredibly annoying to release a big hype trailer and then a little while later say "whoops teehee not coming sowwy :3"

  4. Took so long and got so sidetracked that they had to make another update and split it in half. Like, you can't say "We want out of the fish mines" and then do literally EVERYTHING BUT that. It's like saying "I want out of this house" and doing anything but that and spending money on irrelevant things instead. A little bit is fine, but when you have done it SO MUCH, that you need ANOTHER update for it. Speaks absolute volumes on how distracted the development focus has become. There is a line where it goes from manageable to derailing development. This is what happens. Rule of thumb. Do NOT, go overboard. Should be common sense, but I guess common sense has become more super rare sense after so long

  5. When I first discovered calamity (I watched other people play it I was younger) I thought it was peak. Then I played it myself, it was enjoyable. The I heard that the guy in charge was a homophobic asshole and I was disheartened. Then I learned he was actively in the way of progress and I felt frustrated that peak was being held back. And then… He got found out for some seriously bad stuff and in an instant was cast away from the very thing he toiled to create (like it or not he did start it all). And now calamity is peaker again.

Also I'm glad they realise they can just release the parts of the update that work rather than wait for it all at once, it's gonna be so good.
