The most I can do is a two wide Piston door. I spent a couple days trying to make a 3×4, but I have no idea how to move the two inner blocks and most guides are years old with broken designs. I know what extender pistons are, but no clue how to get them working. Apparently sticky pistons don't actually stick unless powered?

  1. there are many new guides just make sure you include your version number when you do your research. it doesnt take a degree in space science it just takes time and trial and error. Follow tutorials, build stuff , try stuff, see what works or not. see what happens if you change one thing to another thing you thought might work, test it and if its still works or not will teach you about how it works. read how each components work.

the more you learn how little things work, the more it will give you ideas on how you can use those little things to make stuff from your own ideas. at first your ideas will be limited by the stuff you understand but then as you learn more your tools will grow more and more and allow you to have bigger more complex ideas.

yes pistons dont stick just on their own, they are just a piston with the ability to pull blocks instead of only pushing them like regular pistons. Slime blocks are the ones that truly sticks things together, but it gets complex with the push limit and how they’ll just stick to everything. its tricky to build with them
