A Flip-Flop is basically a 1-bit memory cell. It’s like a digital "photo" that captures the state of a signal and holds it until you tell it to update.

It’s the core building block for storing data in a CPU.

It prevents "signal loops" by only saving data when the lever(in this case) signal tells it to.
