The nerf made it useless, you can bomb the demonite, crimtane, and obsidion, you used to be able to mine hellstone with the reaver shark, but it was nerfed, the pickaxe isnt worth going out of your way for anymore as you can just skip to your worlds evil boss and just kill it for the demonite/crimtane pick, easily outclassing the reaver shark, with its ability to mine hellstone
They nerfed it so bad that it's kind of pointless to go out of your way to fish for it. Most people really only fished just for the Reaver, and the other things were just a bonus. I'd suggest just skipping through it since you have to get lucky. But if thats what you wanna do then go ahead, play the game however you want 😀
