The One Detail That Defines Terraria
I’ve been playing Terraria for 14 years, yet I just realized that tables are up to your eyes, and the scale makes no sense at all. Yet this detail explains Re-Logic’s game design philosophy, and it explains what the 1.4.5 update is trying to do.
This video essay explores how Terraria uses misdirection in everything it does, and how it gets us to keep playing.

This make sense, scalerraria
woah
Anyone else notice the wacky scale? Don’t tell me I was the only one who didn’t realize
I really enjoyed this video 😀
I’ve never really thought about the weird scale, but it’s part of what makes it great imo
The goat is back!!! (I never played terraria before)
Terraria_final_v5_final.v2.v2_prod.v3.v3_final.exe will never be finished.
great shit dude, keep up the good work. this channel deserves way more recognition
Yep, that's what makes this game so good. I personally like how there are so many things to do that your attention span doesn't need to be that long to accomplish anything
2:00 its actually not supposed to be the last update for once, theyve already stated theyre adding crossplay in a later update
I think it's incredible how much control the player has over how they choose to progress in terraria. With a world on such a large scale and a variety of optional content both peaceful and combat-oriented you can always find one more thing to do before you kill the wall of flesh and start the spread of corruption/crimson. It makes for so much replay-ability and endless fun with friends. Love the builds featured in the vid btw 😉
