I just now realized the portraits are of a similar art style to the achievement icons
Other NPC didn't get a portrait? What about travelling merchant, old man, skeleton merchant?

Y'know, getting this better look at what the skull the witch doctor is wearing looks like, I can't help but wonder what it came from.
Maybe a giant flying fox? Doesn't really look like anything else in the game.
