So i’m a total noob trying to make a cool flush door with stairs that slide in. I made this contraption in a flat redstone-ready testworld and to my surprise, after a little tweaking with timing, it worked perfectly! Now i built it practically the same in my survival world and this keeps happening.

The pistons that should push out the stairs get a signal, but they don’t activate.

When i remove a block adjacent to it (to update) it suddenly activates, but the next time i try it does the same thing.

If i change the feed a little bit (repeaters, no repeaters, blocks around the pistons vs no blocks) it works for only 1 piston. Either the top one or the bottom one…

Can anyone explain what’s going on?

(Yes, i know some of you will get a headache when you look at the pictures, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take)

  1. I couldn’t put more in the post so quick explanation:
1: you can see the redstone is powered
2: the pistons connected to that powered redstone aren’t activated (except for the bottom one)
3: what that side looks like in the test world
    4: idem
5 & 6: how it should look when working
