I’ve done this on my most recent farm. If you wait to place the mushroom logs, the trees will grow, and you can collect the sap from them as well. But the trees won’t grow if there is anything in the surrounding tiles.

Except the gate posts. You’ll have to replace them eventually.

The trees will drop seeds overtime making saplings all over the place. It’s so annoying 😂
