That poor flower.

Yes, but is it tileable? I want as much of my farm to have as many bee houses as possible

2 more beehives is great but I also like seeing my beautiful flower!

“Optimized” is always relevant to what your goal is. I dislike these patterns because collecting is inefficient. Sure it is “more houses” but that ignores what else I could be doing with time in the day. My beehive patterns are only rectangles/ straight lines, that I can run past and be done. Trying to zig zag these and get all the corner ones, is so slow. Though in any layout, one that is not easy to pick the flower is also important to me. Nothing like destroying your planned profit margin by picking up that fairy rose by accident.

no sprinkler though? So is this a system where you need to be late game, have deluxe retaining soil, and remove a bee house at the start of each season to replace the flower and the retaining soil?

Well, what is efficient is based on your own perception. Getting 2 extra honey isn’t worth the decrease in harvest efficiency for me personally, and I think the “famous” design is a little cuter. Nothing wrong with this one though! Should make you some good money!

Did flower seeds suddenly become super expensive? There’s nothing “optimal” about this layout unless you aren’t allowed to plant more than one flower.

You mean more effective. Optimal means the most effective.
