Terraria players need to stop acting like any reforge other than the best is useless. people cry so much about reforges being expensive even tho they arent unless you keep rerolling for the absolute best, then ofc its gonna be expensive so why complain? plenty of reforges are 80-90% as good as the best one
another fix is simply having a separate toggle for what modifier you are looking for in specific
Only issue with this thing that I have is that when reforging accessories, since it will [special sfx] for every modifier that gives +4/+4% [stat], but it could be for a modifier you don't care about. It [specical sfx]s for Warding, Quick, Lucky, Menacing, and Violent, despite you likely only wanting 1 of the 5.

They could just let the player stop at the reforge they want, like a drop down menu.
So, they know that reforges are annoying, but didn't actually fix the system. They should have just make it more likely you get better reforges instead of asking you to blow 300 platinum in trying to get 1 weapon done.
Honestly, I wish they put in a way to set your own reforge for to to get shiny on, but I understand why they didn't do it
Fun fact when I beat Moon Lord for the first time in this update, I tried the classic "shimmer zenith" trick. I got the new "True Copper Shortsword" and assumed for some reason that that would shimmer back into the zenith. Without trying?? So I gave up and went to the tinkerer, and spent literally 100 platinum on reforging it. I didnt get Legendary once. So I just assumed that the true shortsword… coudnt get legendary? as some sort of joke? so i tried to shimmer it back to the zenith- it of course didnt shimmer to the zenith and i tried to get a good reforge for a bit with that before giving up and doing some grinding. After that, when reforging a summon weapon i got, I tried to reforge the true shortsword on a whim, and got legendary instantly.

Honestly I think a mod that lets you set the reforge you want would be good. (sometimes I want rapid on a ranged weapon because it's honestly more fun than unreal because attack speed is the most fun stat to have for projectile weapons in most games IMO)

Was expecting that Relogic would’ve made it so you can have that UI in a mod that will spend your money until you get a specific reforge, but would likely require more coding to add this. Terraria 1.4.6 feature anyone?

Well, I wouldn't've. I would've had an array, not for each item specifically, but for each item type; Moreover, if you make it 2-dimensional, you could state fallback cases for when the "best" isn't applicable. It's a little more work than just writing a calculation, but it's a custom touch that solves the Blade Staff and Tool cases.
2:09 my ability to notice tiny af details obligates me to mention that the arrow from speed on light points to the damage on the legendary, rather than the speed on the legendary. it's okay though ur still goated <3
I think tools should just get their own set of prefixes instead of copying those of regular melee weapons
I noticed some weapons or items dont have the special effects for any "best" reforges like it doesnt do it at all lol
i think it could be cool to have multiple "best" reforges on weapons and tools, like how accessories do, i.e. warding, menacing, lucky, quick, violent, etc.
Actually, for Blade Staff, the best reforge is Ballistic if the enemy has less than 35 defense, and Eager if the enemy has more than 25 defense. Also I am probably the only person who reforge Rapid on launchers so I can mine with them.
Actually, that is a great reforge for bladestaff.
An easy fix to this is to buff Legendary for tools and to fine tune the very few weapon exceptions, like making Worthy more expensive for the Blade Staff.
Or just implement a system like the one in the Auto Reforge mod.

There's a new dupe glitch if you have an item in a chest control click to delete close the chest then open it again the item remains in the chest and is in the bin slot
I would've loved it you had a menu of the reforge options you could get and to lock one before you start reforging.
1:52 it doesn't work that way, that only affects attack speed, not mining speed
Does having enough armor pen still dip enemy defense into the negatives? Or did Re-Logic patch that?

My other issue is that for accessories this stop happens on any +4 and so quick or violent which are bad in 99% of situations are given the same value as warding or menacing
It's still pretty nice but seeing 3 lucky in a row when I want warding hurts and takes longer
lol I literally got into an argument about how eager was literally trash except for a very niche handful of enemies
I feel like making it so that the true best reforge for tools and weapons gets highlighted, instead of the most expensive, would be way too much of a hassle to code. After all, "best" can be highly dependent on the weapon or tool that's getting reforged, so re-logic would need to go over every single weapon and tool in the game and set internal variables for the best reforge for each of them
