the whole ‘doesn’t feel minecrafty’ stuff happens pretty often

Not every update, but still fairly often

Most of the stuff in the game wouldn’t have been considered “Minecrafty” a few years ago. What people don’t understand is that updates are meant to introduce new features that sometimes feel alien or unfitting, even when they’re interesting and cool. The Mace is a weapon that did more damage the farther you fell, which wasn’t like anything in the game yet. The Elytra literally allowed you to fly without limits. If anything, keeping baby mobs small is one of the most “Minecrafty” things we’ve seen in a while, yet people are still saying it doesn’t feel right. It’s just that people need to get used to it. I’ll use a personal example:

When Deltarune chapters 3 and 4 came out, I at first didn’t feel like they fit, but I eventually came to love them because I got used to the new and fun ideas. It’s the same with Minecraft updates.

  4. Didn’t people say the same thing about creative mode?

Y’know, the way that most players choose to play the game?

  5. Really? I feel like it was the most Minecrafty way they could have gone about adding the mechanic, aside from maybe a name tag Easter egg but I’m glad they didn’t do that because this feels more like a actual mechanic. I’m just disappointed they didn’t make it a sniffer plant, making it rarer gives what is basically just a cosmetic change a feeling of more importance, and it makes sense that a revived dinosaur would hold the key to eternal life.

People said this about bees. They didn’t like how big they are, but seem to have forgotten about spiders.

  8. I’m not saying it doesn’t seem “Minecrafty” to me (and I rarely use that expression), but it doesn’t seem to be implemented in a way that would allow a new player to know what a golden dandelion is for

Other mechanics are implemented in such a way that the player can figure out how to use them without looking anything up online, but people will craft a golden dandelion and think it’s decoration. They have no way of knowing they have to give it to an animal, much less that it will cause them to stop growing
