Newbie here! As awesome as the art is in the game, why is gramps sleeping on a card table? (Also open to any advice you’d give a newbie!)

  1. Advice: the wiki is your best friend. Use it, I’m also playing for the first time but I’ve watched a lot of playthroughs on YouTube before. This game is packed with stuff, take your time, don’t try to do everything at once

  2. I think the number one cause of people not enjoying the game as much as they should is rushing to make money. Keep your farm small and easy to manage and you can go enjoy the world most days.

  3. ConcernedApe has even admitted he made Grandpa’s deathbed in a rush because he forgot about it until the day before release.

  4. DONT look up everything I BEG, you will soon miss the small discoveries when there’s nothing new to discover. Experiment, give wrong gifts, make odd choices, discover that dumb mechanic way later than most people, just enjoy the successes and L’s. Somethings are best to look up ofc but if you find yourself holding the stardew wiki 24/7 as you play it’s a good sign to try and relax. This game is a farming sim after all and once you discovered everything outside of farming you’ll be left with farming(+mining, fishing, etc) (WHICH IS FINE, but don’t be like me who looked up everything and had nothing new to discover/do within 2 months of playing)

Look at how shitty his farm was. Of course he couldn’t afford a very good bed 🤣

  6. There is genuinely no time limit to it. I somehow got into my head I had to finish everything in a year (which, not possible). Slow down, enjoy it. Play at your own pace, and don’t listen to anyone trying to tell you about any “right” ways to play. There’s no wrong way to play as long as you’re having fun.

I’d google mods for grandpa’s bed so you can see all the while stuff people have done to that image.

Also-make sure to give people presents they like/love on their birthdays

Sadly, I think CA meant for the bed to look like a hospital bed? At least that’s what I’ve always thought. btw, just noticed the Yoba symbol on the wall. That means the Yoba religion is in all the farmers heritage.

Townsfolk destroy buildings in their path, so be careful where you put chests and decorations. There are maps online showing where it’s safe to put things. That said, having chests near where you fish, or near Clint’s, or at the entrance to the mines can really help with inventory, especially early in the game.

  10. It’s always good to have a couple of any particular item in storage for quests, but you don’t need to hoard anything. Better to sell or use things unless you have a specific project in mind.

Enjoy the game! Def take your time and go at your own pace! I’ve played this game on every device and always so excited to go back 🙂

  12. I have several thousand hours of gameplay the best advice I can give is don’t rush in explore what you enjoy doing try all the different ways to make money because you can do it however you feel like one of the best things about this game

Lol it’s my favorite. I think CA basically said it was like one of the last things he did and was just ready to be done lol

  14. The older somebody becomes us I’ve seen from my perspective the more firm the platform they want to sleep upon
