It’s probably ambitious to do something like this as my first modpack but I still think it could be fun to learn n all. To be more specific, I don’t really know how all the big sky block modpack creators made their packs and was curious to know if any of you know the mods or how they do it in general. Any help is appreciated!

  1. Apart from adding your mods, you actually have to make these worlds yourself. That’s how these are originally made and shared. Creating a void world can help, but if you want things to function like normal biomes you’ll have to know what you’re doing. And there’s a few ways to do that.

Editing the biome itself can’t be done post generation, unless you use an outside source. Like WorldEdit (which I recommend you use until you’re finished) as it’s incredibly good. You can even make biomes for different islands this way, even down to a single block if you felt like it.

Custom crafting recipes would be through some sort of editing if you want. I don’t know too much about that, however. I would like too, because making a modpack that isn’t just a sinkpack is something I’d like to try one day.

However, know what works, and try to put your own spin into it. But you should absolutely playtest it before you release it, just so you can get a feel on how others might experience it. Making something simple like an iron ingot be locked behind some walls might seem like a good challenge, but if you don’t enjoy how it’s done via testing, a lot of players won’t either.
