Okay so I’m putting up an automatic smelter in my base, I bring the items up with an item elevator, one elevator for the fuel and one for the items being smelted. For some reason, when I put in the items that are meant to be smelted, they somehow end up in the fuel hoppers instead of the top hoppers. About 30% of the smeltable items end up in the 3 hoppers circled in red and I just can’t wrap my head around how it’s happening. The hopper chains for the fuel and smelt items are completely seperated as depicted in image 2.

The hopper minecarts hitboxes extend beyond 1 block and the top hopper minecart is likely transferring items into the bottom hopper minecart
