For those not in the know- the original item name & tool tip where a reference to the youtube video “Mini Minotaur Song” by infamous youtuber Tobuscus (“Tartar Sauce” item, “Mini Minotaur” buff, “How do you defeat a mini Minotaur” tool tip)
Since it’s inclusion all the way back in 1.2.4, tobuscus had appearently credible SA accusations and the dude plunged into the alt right sphere. So, with this update Reddigit opted to remove references to him.

New favorite pet. I also really like this joke, but I feel like I need to say something as of my personal preference.
It’s a faun now. Not a minotaur. The tooltip also says *his* name is Shaun. So while it’s not exactly the transition we were all thinking of, there was still a transition from one creature to a different one.

Odd that they did this after so long when no one really seemed to care, and when the last update they did was also past the point where we knew tobuscus was a bad person.
New sprite looks very cute though. I’ll miss the OG mini minotaur cause that song still holds a lot of nostalgia for me despite the creator being a piece of shit, but there’s no harm in changing it, and the new one is very cute <3
