Summoner‘s comeback needs to be studied

Yeah the potential man format works better with slander but this was mostly just a counter measure to the class slander i did once

  1. I really do love summoner but the class just sucks so much to progress with early in expert/master mode class runs. Started a playthrough yesterday and got Finch Staff, Abigail’s Flower, and grinded Foxsparks all day only to get 2 Cattivas. Cobweb whip sucks ass and ended up using a melee ice blade, breaking my class run, out of impatience.

    Thankfully my RNG with mobility accessory luck couldn’t have been better, so hopefully that will help out a ton with kiting the prehardmode bosses until bee armor. I’ve got probably a thousand hours in this game and still suck though, so I bet not.

  2. Love summoner but we desperately need some early + late prehardmode diversity, hard mode needs some early hard mode and post mech diversity too for summons

    Yeah, summoner is a lot stronger now. Started the game. Got a Web whip I used to get the flinx whip and the summon. Finally got the slime whip, which I used for a long while due to how good slimed increases fire damage and the whip also does fire damage. I really like the meteor whip which I got next and it’s miles ahead of the jungle whip due to the special effect. But I eventually traded that in for the bone whip, which does a lot of damage against multiple groups of enemies including Hungry. Obsidian armor carried me hard.

    Now I’m in hard mode with the ice whip that creates an additional summon, using the spider armor so I can get about seven summons out, but with how often the spiders attack, I might try you the star whip again Peter, how fast the meteors land on enemies.

    In short, it feels like we finally got some progression.

  4. I still consider them undercooked because there’s really only summons and sentry (and all the sentries armor are hybrids). Whips are the only other weapon, no subclass variant like sword/spear or gun/bow. Also their Accessories are really narrow too: They’re either damage or summon increase, and half the damage are either from melee attack speed or general buffs

  5. whip stacking was not removed because it made summoner to strong it was removed because designing around it was a nightmare.
