I got tired of inconsistent block variants and made a datapack that lets you put moss on anything!

You're also able to add pale moss, weeping vines, and over 70 other things to the faces of blocks. I feel like it's a good solution to filling in missing variants without making the inventory problem worse, but it also adds a lot of complexity… do we really need pale mossy weeping rooted stone bricks? Probably not, but I really enjoy the amount of detail I'm able to add.
