I did not consider the amount of slime I’d need to make an approximate buttload of Oil Makers. So I got a slime hutch, but getting attacked when I try to harvest the slime is not fun. Now I’m tryna grind 1000 slime kills to get the Slime Charmer Ring… It’s a whole thing.
Freakin’ pigs. Perhaps I should abandon this endeavor and go back to building my Ancient Fruit wine empire.

Get botanist profession and sell iridium truffles. Almost as much profit, way less work.
If you’re absolutely determined to make oil presses, get the slime gatherer enchantment for your weapon.

If you get the foraging profession or whatever, you get iridium truffles which are worth more than truffle oil. Then you don’t have to bother with the machines.
There’s a mod for autograbbers to pick up truffles too just saying. 😁
If your profession for foraging gives you iridium truffles, then there’s not really a need to hold on to them as the increase from processing is trivial.
Additionally, fence in your animals for a more controlled harvest. Easier to walk in a line back and forth once to collect 40 truffles than walk like a fly erratically trying to get out a closed window that lies between two open ones.
I gather approx 200 truffles a day, I tend to wait until all other chores are done and the pigs are heading back inside their barns to make it easier!
I mean, nobody says you *have* to keep the truffles until you can make oil presses.

I honestly sell my truffles as is since they are all iridium quality. No one says you HAVE to make oil out of them

I just ship them raw. The gain from converting to oil is not worth the time for me
Last playthrough I ditched all my pigs and got two barns worth of sheep with golden animal crackers. Still hit perfection by Year 4.

I always put my pigs in a pretty small, separate pen so I don’t have to run all over the farm to pick up the truffles.
I can literally hear the ‘squish’ sound effect in my sleep just looking at this. the worst part isn’t even picking them up, it’s realizing you forgot to craft enough oil makers and now your shed is just a truffle storage unit for the next 3 seasons.

Yeah I have 4 deluxe barns full of pigs. Make over 100,000 a day off truffles.
