It’s not like I’m the only breadwinner and all you have to do every day is watch our two kids. Oh wait – you leave them alone in the house all the time to go to the beach or spend the day at Ginger Island. I came back once and our toddler was playing with a candle.

Ugh this is why I’ll never marry Elliott. I can’t stand sappy empty flowery sentiment in real life, and I don’t want to deal with it in my fantasy cottagecore life either.

He doesn’t mean burnt out as in exhausted. He is using it as part of the candle metaphor to signify how he feels he loses light and life without you there

i know its not exact but It reminds me of a line Sam has, just if it were more flowery “Baby, I was just gonna write you a song on the guitar. But now you’re here and I feel relaxed. I mainly feel like playing guitar when I’m lonely.”

So basically Elliott’s saying he missed you lol

  4. Loneliness and working? He’s a semi famous writer after he releases that book he was working on.

  5. Waaaaah my beautiful husband doesn’t contribute to my $42 million dollar estate and just sexes me up and is beautiful on the beach all day waaaaaaahhhh

Jeez man he’s an author or poet or whatever, he’s just trying to say he misses you all fancy like

  8. “…our toddler was playing with a candle” – I laughed out loud, thank you!!
Elliott leaves our children all over the house late at night after events and it weirds me out 😂

  9. He’s not even using big words here, but I’ll translate since you somehow got the opposite meaning:

“I feel depressed when you’re gone, but when I hear your walk back through the door I feel happy again.”

That make it more clear? Also, give him a fuckin’ gift, you’ve been neglecting him.

  10. Jeeeez he’s trying to be poetic about how he feels he is lost without you there and feels whole when you are. And youre complaining =(
(My comment is meant in a light hearted way)

You married a poet and then can’t understand a metaphor?! He’s clearly talking about your baby’s thumbs! /j
