If you're near the shimmer and happen to have an alchemy table, what you should actually do is craft your desired potions, throw the crafted potions into the shimmer to break them back into components, then craft again to infinitely dupe potions.

Honestly, not worth the loss in the ability to not use ingredients, especially since most bossfights would be over quicker than standard pot lengths, and the pots used for mining and fishing are easily farmable because you naturally get the resources to make them from that activity
