On the first year of my 6th save file (with the notoriously difficult to design Riverland farm), I finally witnessed this, and from a baby duck too. The duck is aptly named Shark.
Wtf the little heart bubble as it jumped! Can't get over how cute that was!
Farms I own but have never caught ducks swimming in: Standard (10/10), Four Corners (7/10), Meadowlands (8/10), Beach (9/10), Wilderness (7/10)
Least favorite farm type: Riverland. but the baby duck swimming might have just redeemed it

That’s actually my first and still my favorite farm! You don’t need to focus as much in squeezing out the most out of so many tiles, instead you just worry about it being pretty and spend time fishing or adventuring instead. Once you have Ginger Isle, you have more land than you can spend cultivating, and River Farm gets you into the habit of winging it a little more.
The river farm is still one of the ones i think fondly of due to it’s challange but it did give me a scare when i found my ducks on another island lol

This is my river farm.
I’m on my 3rd save and have the Meadowlands farm and my ducks swim alot. I love watching them and seeing the ❤️ as they jump in 😊🤣🤣
my very first (and only) farm is river farm. it’s a bitch to make look pretty but i made it work to get perfection year 8. now i’ve reorganized it outside of maxing and just making it look good.
if i had known anything about stardew (didn’t even know about perfecting until year 5) i would’ve picked a different farm. but ill always have love for her.
