  1. im playing terraria for a year by now, and I've never tried any class other than summoner, I can say that summoner is not the strongest class but it is the most fun class

  2. mage i feel has become more of a support class. i used the Spectre set (with the hood) as a support to heal my friend (who was new to terraria at the time) fighting moonlord head-on. we had a heavy and medic TF2 type dynamic and it was super fun, but yeah mage has become borderline obsolete unless you were using magic weapons to cheese some bosses

  3. I love mage but I have to accept it's the worst class in the game. I'm still so salty that melee got so much love when it was already by far the best class in the game.

  4. Mage is definitely more powerful than you think it is.

Yea, it has the WORST early game but in hard mode is where it shines. Saying Mage in hard mode is just “okay” is not true. I’d argue it’s on the same level as Summoner and definitely deals more damage than Ranger. There’s a reason Mage and Summoner builds wreck through hardmode. If you manage to obtain the Typhoon blade and Bubble Gun pre-mech, you can breeze through bosses up to Golem. Bubble Gun itself is so INCREDIBLY powerful I’m surprised you didn’t mention it. This class has a lot of weapons(exclusively from hardmode) that have some of the highest dps in the game.

If there’s one thing I learned from ShyGuyMask it’s that with Mage + Summoner, you can do anything.

  5. if you have time sir, then doing the same video but for mods that add new classes is honestly very useful, it's even a good experience for you (trying new mods ofc).
and man i love stardew valley music.

  6. Mage can get better dps than summoner at most points in the game
Its a clunky class but it is in some regards objectively stronger than summoner (in 1.4.4 summoner with whipstacking underperformed in speed kills in comp to all other classes)
As much as I hate mage summoner is probably overall the weakest class

  7. ive liked mage cuz its so easy. demon scyte and vile thorn out classes many of the other options during that stage. vile thorn helps with through wall attacks and demon scythe is very good defensivly while putting out a lot of damage

  8. idk I have been playing with a friend, we measurd DPS pre-golem, all defense acc. The top weapons were:
    Razorpine – 2000
Elf melter – 1500 (2500 if stealth shroomite)
Terrablade – 1300 (but have to hit with the sword itself)
Others were around a 1000 or below
It's pretty hard to use the shroomite armor bonus while spectre is super solid. There are also a lot of magic weapons where you put a "hazard" on the field that constantly damages the enemies (nimbus rod, clinger staff, rainbow gun), they get a damage bonus for being magic. They proc spectre armor effect as well, both the heal and damage spheres. You can carry all this stuff from post plantera til moon lord.
    Mage is pretty good imo

Also, flamethrower is secretly busted people. Abuse before they nerf

  9. i say ranger and melee get the least damage is a valid balance, ones meant to tank and distract so teammates get better damage, ranger gets well range, they get to play safer in return its a much longer battle
summoner requires staying close to get great damage meaning your squishy but have to stay close and mage should be lightly reworked to make mana more about managing it since in most situations the damage nerf from spamming potions isnt enough, that way its about managing a meter mid battle to get insane damage output from a range

this means ranger and melee are more comfortable picks that are very simple and best for new players, they also have the most options meaning newer players can get something related to the class easier, but summoner and mage are more difficult to play but a lot more rewarding if you manage what they do, melee becomes an amazing pick for multiplayer worlds, ranger becomes an amazing pick for single player, and mage and summoner just reward skill more
and since melee has a ton of range, it wouldnt be an issue for nerfing its damage, its something that takes long but lets you last even longer

  10. Seeing all the melee buffs made me think of the meme of the parent playing with their kid in a pool while the other is drowning, but in this case it's relogic giving melee more love as mage struggles xD

  11. Honestly, my ranking would be

4: Mage – Extremely slow start, poor accessories that tend to hinder you and the mana system sucking.
3: Ranger – Yes Ranger is quite OP, however it has kind of a slow, repetitive start due to the lack of difference in weapons out the gate, as well as it being generally more boring than it should be, not to mention being kinda bad when first entering hardmode (might just be a skill issue tho)
2: Summoner – with each update, Summoner has risen to greater and greater heights, it is definitely one of the most fun classes out of the 4, it has some of the most unique gameplay and weapons the game has to offer, and it is probably the most different in terms of progression.
1: Melee – ….it was obvious, Melee is just a little too good.

  12. well summoner is more melee than melee class and is more harder of use bc u have to stay close of the enemies and bosses and atack him and the most of whips have a short ranged but the obsidian armor can solve that but the whip doesnt have good knockback and need the other summons for have dps and knockback and the ranged class for me isnt bored but melee is bored for the bc is like ranged but with more defense and the melee weapons are like ranged with more knockback and aoe damange and for that reason some people fell ranged more bored bc is more similar to "melee" with the ranged attacks instead of true melee attacks.
