    The Eater of Worlds is presumably representative of his spinal cord, which explains why his counterpart is the Brain and also Mechdusa.

  3. Huh, I just realized something with this post. Aren’t the evil bosses kinda thematically reversed with their biome? Corruption feels more like an assimilation-brainy evil and Crimson more like a giant-worm-fleshy evil.

    I usually interpret the EoW as an amalgamation of tens of Soul Eaters (which in turn are corrupt animals and people). That’s why it can split into multiple segments and simply looks like a long soul eater

  6. i’ve always interpreted Brain of Cthulhu to be in the same vein as Eye of Cthulhu where it’s not actually part of the Moon lord’s body, it just got named that way for being a large and powerful creature, seeing as EoC has “True Eye of Cthulhu” from Moon Lord.

    I always interpreted it as the corruption being the same as the crimson, just after a long period of time. Eventually the brain dies, the vitality of the crimson ebbs away into the corruption, and the worm imbibed the latent madness and power of the brain of cthulu
