This iron vein is super massive, and so was a coal one i was mining earlier. The only mods i have that could probably affect this are:
Create and it's expansions
terralith (this is in a terralith biome)
regions unexplored (this chunk was generated before i added the mod)
tectonic

Minecraft added these a while ago, absurdly gigantic iron veins that quite literally span across several chunks with raw ore blocks inbetween, they’re vanilla, they also appear with copper

And you don’t have Ender Lanky’s large ore veins mod, huh?
Terralith is probably the culprit. certain biomes have larger ore veins, particularly volcanic ones. sometimes it just spits out a huge ore vein here and there, which is probably unintended.
Don’t newer versions have a (very rare) chance to spawn super huge iron and copper veins? Just inherently from vanilla, no mods.
