I've been looking for something along these lines for a while, but nothing I've tried has really been exactly what I'm looking for, or been high-quality enough to be worth it. I love Terraria's progression and class system, and I'm wondering if there are any good Minecraft mods with a similar idea.

Any other kind of specialization other than classes is cool too. I just like choosing between categories for some reason :3
Prodigium Reforged is pretty good! It’s purposefully designed to play like terraria with class specific armours and weapons and boss fights that unlock new content. Theres also a fun skill tree system that allows specializations.
Superior RPG is pretty good although i haven’t played that much
If you’re patient then the v1.0 update for Terramity may be up your alley
