I’m working on a long-term underground bunker build and recently finished a large warehouse section. It’s fully built in survival and designed to store long-term supplies.

The storage area contains around 83,160 blocks, which comes out to about 83,160 m³ of usable space. Using an average density for dry goods (around 0.75 t/m³), that’s roughly 62,000 tonnes of food capacity.

With basic calorie estimates (around 2,500 kcal per person per day), this could theoretically sustain about 245,000 person-years of food. That’s roughly 1,500 years for 160 people, or around 136 years for 1,800 people.

This is obviously simplified back-of-the-envelope math, but it was fun to calculate and design around. The goal was to make the warehouse feel realistic, functional, and integrated into the bunker’s overall layout.
