Prob when i just started playing in 2018, i played waapp and donald trump obby (unfinished with no checkpoints)

  2. 2018, egg hunt and prime games. People like to say that people who say ‘roblox was better back then’ are just blinded by nostalgia but if you take everything from a neutral stance it definitely was way way better than what we have now.

  3. Before 2025, These eras has made me know about what roblox is. Despite that I knew about roblox around 2015/2016 and joined 2018

2020 just felt good with 2 player wizard tycoon, bee swarm simulator, jail break, all that good stuff that i played with my older siblings. (joined in 2019)

The skip from 2011 to 2018 is way TOO LARGE of a gap that you forgetting to account that each year is an era by itself (speaking as a 2015/2016 player here)

  6. Probably 2024, I remember playing TDS with my friend every day until they released DJ nerf and revamped the game. We haven’t played TDS ever since

wasn’t around for any earlier than 2016, so prob 2016-2020. I’ve heard 2011-2015 is the prime of Roblox and I can see that because they interacted with the community a lot more and were in-touch with them.

  9. I joined right at the peak, and it’s really been going down hill from there, so I’d just say 2017~.

I don’t really mind any era I will say 2023 was the best year for me but 2020 pandemic was when I made an account

  11. 2014-2016 cause it’s just so nostalgic for me. I joined in late 2014, so I don’t remember a whole about that time, so 2015-2016 are the most nostalgic years for me.

Its a big gap but the games were being produced having both quality and fun elements in it, while showcasing they’re unique.

  13. I can’t really comment on pre 2011 as I joined in late 2011

2011-2016ish was when roblox started evolving from its simple lego esc aesthetic into its own thing, the games were still “simple” (compared to today’s standards), but it’s where plenty of classics that are still played today were created such as natural disaster survival or Murder Mystery 2, still being similar to how they were years ago

2016-2020/21 was when the gameplay itself started started to become more complex and intricate as far more people started to play on the platform, it’s also where well known game series where created, such as retail tycoon and restaurant tycoon, but most prominently, it was when the first MAJOR success of a game was made, being Jailbreak, though, unlike the previous era of games, any games that have survived till today have evolved significantly, some being unrecognisable from how they were at launch

Post-2021 was when Roblox went public, I’m not saying this is when the platform went downhill, but it is when a noticeable shift started to occur. more and more games on the popular tab became cash-grabby, often being very simple games at their cores (alot being almost carbon copies, or atleast very similar concepts), now, it’s not like these games weren’t made before then, but alot more are being made now, as Roblox’s focus shifted towards appeasing corporate interests. There are PLENTY of amazing games produced today, with FAR more effort and time put in to them than ever before, however, the games often get buried into obscurity by the cash grabs, and it’s not like people don’t want to play these games, MANY do, ESPECIALLY young kids, despite how much people blame them for the rise in “slop” games (it ain’t their fault)

Every era is unique, they all have positives and negatives, and this topic is easily clouded by nostalgia, hell, I mainly listed positives for things pre-2021 and mainly listed negatives for post-2021 stuff, but that’s because it’s been so long since I’ve experienced those older eras, that I’ve forgotten all the bad, I don’t remember when they changed it, but I do remember the camera and physics fucking sucked for a while, and the only reason I remembered that is because of retrostudio, which was made pretty much post-2021. I mean, if you asked someone who joined the platform recently, would they bring up all the issues I’ve brought up? Probably not!

there is zero functional difference between 2018 and 2020, why the is there nothing between 2011 and 2018?

2018 – 2020, there’s some good games that r more recent, but most of the games now suck and let’s not even mention the updates
