Stardew Valley 1.7 is Adding New Spouses

There’s precious few things we know about the 1.7 update at this point, but one thing we know for sure is that it’s focused on relationships, and we’re getting two new marriage candidates! I’m taking some time to theorize who it could be before the reveal on Stardew Valley’s anniversary!

    Among my friend group, my favorite theory is two new NPCs who move to the valley. But they will be apprentices to move into existing buildings as to not mess up the map. Maybe a wizard and blacksmith trainee?

    I am alllllllll for the wizard and sandy! I was SO disappointed when I found out I couldn't romance the wizard in my first playthrough, and sandy is just so sweet šŸ„°

    I don't think possible marriage candidates having shops would be an issue at all! I believe krobus' shop is replaced with a chest when he isn't available in the sewers. a similar thing could happen anywhere else šŸ˜Š

    Iā€™ve always headcannoned Leah and Harvey as in their 30s – Leah had a life in the city before moving to Stardew, and didnā€™t move in the last year or so. She could be as young as 25, but I never saw her that young. And doctors struggle to be able to practice privately without supervision before about 28, and Harvey again isnā€™t a new addition (like Elliott is). But yeah, old end of the current crop are 30s while young end are probably barely finished highschool? Older characters would be nice.

    Sandy seems to be Emilyā€™s age though – late 20s maybe. Wild idea: Pam? Sheā€™s in her 50s, right? Makeup style comes from the 80s, and her story could be fleshed out a bit? Sheā€™s go with the Wizard for clearly post-middle-age candidates imo.

    Clint is the one I see others mention who isnā€™t mentioned here. How old does everyone else think he is?

    I hope the children actually can actually grow up into kids and be friends with jaz and Vincent and Leo ( if he moved into the valley)

    More events with the kids would also be nice too

    The dwarf would be awesome to get as a roommate
    Maybe he'd also start selling dwarven furniture or a furniture catalogue like Krobus (that'd be awesome)

    And since social interactions in general are supposed to get a boost
    I wouldn't mind Clint getting some attention either
    Hell, lt me talk to the people at the adventurers guild more
    Let me do fun stuff with the npcs
    That'd be amazing

    Whatever updates we get I'm sure they'll be great^^

    what if one of the two is Hat Mouse…. eh probly not tho im leaning towards Sandy being one of em…. oh well time will tell and perhaps CA will suprise us which he has.

    i wanna make carline divorce Pierre and have her be one of the new marriage candidates. i know there are mods for that, but i play on switch.

    Let's go through all the characters that aren't even giftable, but you spend time with them in the town. It's not only Gunther, but also Marlon ane Gill. And from girls it's the red hair girl from Joja Mart, who returns to work in the movie theater when you complete the Community Center. And there is also Morris… Could he be dateable?
