Of all portraits he looks the worst (exept uncannly realistic pets)

I always seen him an an older dude. Why is he baby faced.

And to the person comparing these to the Stardew Valley portraits as a bad thing. SV portraits have personality. All these look the same, only difference being Witch Doctor and Party Girl having their heads slightly tilted. Otherwise its just all the same

I mean, he looks like the “young travelling salesman who knows his way with barter and speech” rpg archetype. Atleast to me, Terraria has some rpg stuff.

I mean I always viewed him as being much younger than the other gray haired town NPCs, so the portrait makes sense to me at least.

  3. Ehh in my opinion, he always struck me as being on the younger side thanks to his dialogue. Young charismatic salesman to contrast with the older merchant. Aside from his dialogue sounding younger, he also seems to regard you as an equal compared to the perchant who calls you “Kid” a lot. His portrait is about what I expected age-wise, I always headcanon’d him to be around 28 years old.

That’s just how you specifically viewed him. I always saw him as a young adult merchant travelling around the world for wares and this portrait reflects that perfectly. Automatically going white hair = old on a fantasy game is stupid.

  5. I don’t really like the hair for the arms dealer (never imagined him with the fade look on the sides) or the angler (he kinda looks like he has weird dreadlocks or smth idk)

  6. While I don’t think it’s actually on his overworld sprite, but I always imagine him having facial hair. And much older for some reason
