Idea is simple; me and my friends want to make an automatically regenerating spleef arena, and we're using a stone generator to do so.

I'm experimenting with trying to make my own design, and I feel that I'm on the right track, but I'm getting stuck in a critical area; when the sideways-facing pistons reach their push limit, the upwards-facing pistons push stone into the spot where my lava sources are, which destroys the lava!
Picture 1: Sideways pistons are at their push limit
Picture 2: Upwards pistons push the stone blocks up
Picture 3: The result of the stone being pushed up (lava is supposed to be visible on top instead of stone)

How can I fix this? I think what would help is somehow making it so that the sideways pistons STAY extended when they're at their push limit instead of retracting (thereby blocking the upwards pistons from extending), but I don't know how to do that, and there might be a better solution, I'm not sure.

Any help is appreciated!

  1. Well don’t put the lava there. Generate the stone, push it to the side, then push it up/down, then push it horizontally where you want it.
