100 hours later and I discovered that you can place items *outside* of your farm….
I have 100 hours across my savefiles and never realised I could do this. Would've saved me sooo much time just having a chest near places for when my backpack gets full 😭
I mean if learned over 100 hours in that O don’t have to empty a small chest just to place a bigger chest on it place.

I tried it for fun during the trout derby. Brought my portable shipping box and a bait maker with me, and was delighted to find they could sit beside me.

There’s tons of stuff you can place outside of your farm. Which makes it fun to revitalize spots in Pelican Town. Also, items that allow convenience for you. I always have empty chests outside of all the caves so I can pop out to put items in when my backpack gets full. And smoking fish right on the dock is where it’s at.

Put chests of loved gifts besides the Houses of people you want to boost friendship with.

Just make sure no items are in the way of the npc paths they take or they will destroy it.
