Suricates: digging around when spooked, naturally just looking around for danger. Feed them to gain their trust, then they would alarm you if they notice a hostile mob

Flying squirrels: they would jump around in oak and birch forests, collecting items from the ground, some may even rob stuff from your hand. Follow them to their nest to find some treasure and picked up items.

Otters: swim around in rivers, lay on their back and sleep together at night. You could trade rocks with them (any stone like block). Each unique mob could have a favorite block type, if you give them one they reward you with something from the sea, nautilus shell maybe.
Would work like piglin trade, drop the item, they pick it up, after a while give you something else, or reject the offer and give back the stone

  1. i remember seeing a mod like ten years ago that added little songbirds that would take seeds out of your hand if you held them out to them. i would love that, even if they didn’t do anything other than that

More like mobs that I don’t care when they’re added.

1.22 should at least add a new dimension and a boss.

  3. Meercats were supposed to be in the game but Mojang has forgotten about the biome votes and how even the losers were supposed to be changed in the future
